Barb, my doc said there is no "loading dose". I asked.

Maybe some oncs don't do loading dose. Mine did. The orders came from my MDA oncologist to give to my local oncologist and the amounts were higher for round 1.

I have the nosebleeds. More annoying than anything.

Gearing up for round 6 on Wednesday. I'm bedridden today with diarrhea. Had a very rich dinner last night. Sucks because my Monday and Tuesday are usually really good before treatment and I try to get a lot done. However, resting is on agenda today.

I have scans next week. Getting nervous. I think I have had progression in lungs and spine based on how I'm feeling. Ugh. Trying to stay upbeat and hopeful and not let the anxiety take over.

    Have a great week ladies!

I guess it must depend on the doctor if one gets a loading dose. Mine did reduce my taxotere dose by 20% after the first round put me in the hospital two times. I had nosebleeds with the first round but not after he reduced the dose. I hope your scans go well, Bondgirl. I know what you mean. I have had a dry cough the last couple weeks, which makes me nervous. I should get scans after this round.

I just finished weekly treatment number 33 (yes, 33, over 8 months) of Herceptin/Taxol and then add in Perjeta every third week.  BUT, I am currently in remission (Stage 4 Breast Cancer with met to the liver).... Lost most of my hair/eyelashes after about 4 months.  Have neuropothy and swelling of the feet/hands, tendons are tight, large muscle groups get sore, nosebleeds every day, drippy nose and eyes and I get fatigued quite easily.  My appetite is fine and I go out to the movies, dinner, drive etc with no problems at all... best advice:  stay as active as you can, you will feel alot better.

I'm looking forward to recovering from the chemo, anyone have advice on a timeline for this.  Bear in mind that I've been in chemo for over 8 months.. thanks!

Bhd- Yes, I had diarrhea on the first round, and it seemed worse 2nd time!

Bondgirl - Very sorry to hear about the diarrhea - I'm going through the same thing at the moment! My onc also gave me a loading dose on my very first round of chemo...I believe it was actually double what I normally get each cycle.

LisaHubble - I'm so glad to hear remission! I know the side effects really take a toll on you, in the end it has to be worth it! Please keep us updated on your well being!!

I got my scan results last Thursday, but had a super busy weekend and forgot to post.

The only thing that "lights up" on the PET now is my original breast tumor! There is still a place on my liver that the radiologist said was "hard to measure or make out", but it had zero metabolic uptake. Praise God! This is so huge because originally I had multiple liver lesions including one that was 7 cm, 3 lymph nodes involved, and spots on two of my ribs, hip, shoulder, arm, leg, and a few vertebra. These were very small, but now they are all gone. I did 4 TCH, and then went straight into THP. Thursday I will do my 11th THP. One more after that, and then I will just be on P/H for as long as it will carry me. I also hope to schedule my breast surgery soon. Off with the mother ship! Prayers for good decisions and a long ride on P/H would be much appreciated! My four kiddos need me!

Prayers, love, and hope to all!

Yes, bhd. It had shrunk a few more mm, but it is half of the size it was at the beginning. It is the slowest to shrink though. It has kind of hit a "plateau". It didn't shrink any on my previous scan.

Lisa Hubble, Kingcour, so happy for you and gives me a lot of hope this will work for me. Have PET scheduled in 2!/2 weeks. I'm wondering if I didn't get a loading dose because I have been on chemo before. I noticed everyone was first timers with the loading dose.

Kingcour: Yay! Doing a happy dance.

    Jill: How are you feeling?

I got a load dose. But I only did thp twice. I've been on ph only since October. I've started doing water aerobics three times a week and I'm feeling the best I've felt in a long time. Praying we all find our silver bullets. :)

Fujimama, how are you feeling on ph only? I just started ph 1 week ago and so far so good besides a little nausea still. I am so out of shape; I would like to at least start going for walks. Reading about you doing water aerobics got me excited here :)

Kaelia most days I feel pretty good. Each treatment I seem to recover better. I still have a few random crash days. Aerobics is really helping. My muscles were not so great after thp. I could barely make it up the stairs. So I encourage you to walk asap. I was such a couch potato before all this mess. Hope you feel good on ph only.

Hi, Fujimama. Not sure if you've read my other thread and that's why you're asking or just in general. Haven't had a good run with this combo thus far but finally feeling better today! Thanks for asking.

Thanks Fujimama. I have zero endurance as we speak because I haven't used those muscles in a while lol. With Spring literally here, I am going to motivate myself back into some nice walks outside.

Hello ladies.. Did everyone begin to tolerate this combo better after each treatment? I know my first and second infusion tried to kill me but the third treatment hasn't been so bad.
