I've been on tamoxifen for almost 1 year and have gained like 27-30 lbs. I would like to try something like "herbal magic" to help me loose weight. Does anyone know if you can take the herbal medications like Chromagic, WM 2000, or Essience Weight Management, while you are taking tam?

Dang I have gained weight on it too. I was on Arimidex initially but didnt have the weight gain I have now. It is so depressing. I told my Ob-Gyn today it was really discouraging when you eat less and exercise more and still gain weight. I have always been so weight conscious that when I gained a few I would diet or cut back. Doesnt make any difference. I read where drs discount the connection between the two but what do they know? Are they taking it? My ONC said she had a patient who lost 40 lbs on it. Hard to believe anyone could lose weight taking it. My sister in law complained about the weight gain all the time. Here 5 years is up. I know some drs are recommending being on it for 10 years and while that is good preventive maintenance I honestly dont know if I can take it another 3 years. Throw in the fact I am more emotional and the hot flashes are brutal which makes sleeping difficult sometimes. I know in the scheme of things it is more important that the cancer doesnt return but still I would rather be the one responsible for my weight gain...would be different if I was shoveling in ice cream. I hope someone does come up with a solution. Diane

I too have gained 30 lbs. I've been on tamoxifen for 2 1/2 years and I've gone for 125 to 155 and climbing. I don't stuff myself and I go to the gym a minimum of 3 times a week.

I'm 61 years old and my onc says its age! Went through menopause at 51, dx at 59 and was still same weight until tamoxifen introduced into daily regime. I did quit smoking so that may have slowed my metabolism but not 30 lbs worth, I don't think. If anyone has any good answers let me know. I'm hoping it melts away after my 5 years!

Has anyone heard anything about "Raspberry Ultra Drops".  I am afraid to take anything with tamoxifen and I dropped 25 lbs already but a friend sent me this link below and said Dr. Oz was talking about these on his show.  I only listened to the intro and heard him say something about a hormone .... etc.  Wonder if they would be safe with tamoxifen.  Here is the link
