Good Morning!
That is so awesome Meece!! I love the pic! Ejoy your new car and some quiet unemployed time. -
Ok - now I need kleenex for Meece's posts... Too sweet. Who are the adorable kids? Thanks so much for sharing their wonderful story. Did you get a picture of her face when she saw the tshirts?
Sweet that DH got you a new car. And that you could get the color you wanted right away. I hope a new, perfect job comes your way soon. In the meantime, I hope you can relax and enjoy the down time.
I saw some flowers poking up where some snow had melted away the other day. The birds are singing - sounds like spring is coming.
Joan- I hope they find a perfect solution for the space issue.
-
The children are her 8 and 6 yr olds and the baby is a foster child which she may be adopting pending a court hearing next Tuesday. Since the parents have failed to do any of the court mandated classes and such, chances are good that she will get him. She's had him since he was 3 weeks old. I don't think they got a video and the photographer only couple pics posted. She is working on editing before she gives them the disc.
-
Instant family - and what a precious family it is. Best of luck in the adoption process.
May they forever be as happy as they look in those pictures. ♥
-

Buy them for youself Sandy, and enjoy them!
-
Sorry your granddaughter is depressed, Sandy. I hope you enjoyed your visit with her.
I keep having a problem with this laptop - the mousepad just stops working - it's happened several times. the on/off button for the touchpad doesn't work. The first time it happened I found out the F9 function key also turns the touchpad on and off and that worked, but today it didn't. Luckily, I have a wireless mouse I can use - but a new computer should not crap out like that. Anyone else have this problem? Maybe it's a Toshiba laptop problem...
Had a migraine the other day - triggered by DD wearing something perfumey that made me sick - (the rum probably didn't help, but I was okay until what ever she was wearing got to be too much for me) and now my sinuses are acting up. I thought maybe they would since I was a little vertigo-y recently -when I would look down, I would get a little dizzy. sheesh. I hope all this clears up before I have to start work. I have 2 training classes next week. i have to go into the store to get info on them this Thursday. Maybe the manager can let me know then what the plan is for after those 2 classes... I hope I'm not too much of a spaz to learn what I need to know... Whatever smarts I have are book smarts - not street smarts...
A lot of the snow is going away - strange to look out and see so much grass. Is your snow melting, Linda, or do you still have a couple feet?
-
I loved and then hated my Toshiba laptop. My latest is a HP. The touchscreen on the toshiba would do the weirest things. Turn on and off, delete entire things I was working on....so frustrating. And the speakers sucked! If yours is new, call Toshiba while it's under warranty!!
-
Chris, Linda,
I burned through two Sony Vaio laptops (old heavy one overheated and started typing zeros but still can turn on) and my pride and joy 3 pound ($2K) that didn't last 2 years. Now, I have a $799 Toshiba laptop and it takes all my abuse and I LOVE it. Last week my keyboard lockd and I found on line that if I pushed function and held the right shift down a long time, it would reset. It wouldn't hurt to try that. I take it everywhere and drop it and ope 12 windows at once...and it always does great. I'd buy another. It's a Portege R705 and weighs maybe 4 lbs. It fits in a small purse like a file folder.
Am waiting for the contractor...40 minutes now...no show. I drove half way home from work to meet him and realized I had forgotten to bring soup and dinner to a sick friend as I had promised at 1:30. It was 3:30...I raced back to get her takeout and then to her house then all the way home again in the driving rain....and he's not here.TOL, I guess...OMG I am so complaining. I'm home, I'm safe, don't have to work tonight, will make easy dinner and grade papers. DH out until late so it's quiet.
-
Chris, it's good that you will start training. There's always a learning curve for any new job...I think you will do fine and I hope it's a time when you can get your questions answered before you are actually on the job. Sending positive thoughts!
Sandy, sending positive thoughts for you and for your grandaughter...
H Sheila, soup or hot chocolate today? Another damp cool day in NY
Diane, am beginning to think that I live in rain city...it's raining so hard again... and my gutters are failing to carry the water away. -
I'm here, mostly on FB though.
-
Sandy - good luck with chemo tomorrow. Hope your GD is doing better.
Joan - we have had several beautiful days but the monsoons are supposed to start tonight for the next four days.
Speaking of hot chocolate - going to cheat tonight and make hot chocolate souffles.....we are eating super healthy but we all need a reward. Tonight I am challenging myself to cook with only what is already here. Looks like some sort of whole grain pasta dish with chicken, asparagus, and cherry tomatoes. Sauce is made from chicken broth and a few tbs. of tomato paste. I made it up, so who knows.
-
Made up meals are the best.......
Very warm and was raining all day
I didn't have to cook tonigt my friend upstairs invited me for dinner....she is Italian and i love her cooking
Nothing new here......just very tired and sleepy........
Joan if you hear from granny please let us now....Thanks
Meece...Your new family looks very happy........do they live far or close?
Chris...You'll be fine
Cup of tea is in order...but inside the apt is too warm...even for me
I know I have windows......LOL

One day i will get a laptop...I know I'm behind of everything...........
-
How was the made up meal? I love doing that too!!
Pouring here, my yard is flooded. I CAN SEE SOME GRASS!!!!!!!!!!! Yay!! 53 right now!
-
Chris thanks and I have a toshiba plz don't say that, lol
Joan you aren't complaining... and that is 3 with toshiba's, lol
Diane, was having hot chocolate every night, love it...and don't eat healthy, lol
It rained here alll day, done now, GD is awesome, depressed but awesome, we loved our visit...have a good night!!! milk and marble pound cake is calling me from downstairs...
-
Made up meal was pretty darn good!
Glad you had a good visit Sandy - enjoy that marble cake....
I have a Macbook - haven't had anything else for 4 years and it just keeps going and going....
Sheila - open a window, you need some fresh air
-
for some reason I did not feel the warmth today....the rain was kind of chilling.
I spent the afternoon writing appeals for 3 traffic tickets I got in the same parking lot for 3 different things over 8 days. Am up to $250 in fines...I hope to pay zero. Just more stress and time-consuming paperwork.
Sandy, thinking of you as you come off your chemo break. Hope you enjoyed that cake and milk!
Am having blueberries, strawberries, some whipped topping, and vanilla ice cream...Linda, wow, grass already! Glad to hear the snow is melting!
Meece, loved hearing about your growing family. Very touching...DS and fiancee must be very special. Enjoy the new car.
Diane - monsoon??? I'm hoping for clear skies here tomorrow so I can view the comet that took million of years to get here. if not, there will be 2 more this year.Sheila, glad you were warm, sorry if you were too warm! I have not heard anything about Granny...I think Veggy was going to call her grandaughter in a day or two. I suspect that G will find her iPad soon and check in.
Nite all,Joan
-
Ok, monsoon is exaggeration - very heavy rain. Still full, skipping the souffles....
-
It was sunny here and we had the local kids and associated family over for dinner for my Mom's 76th birthday. DS and his fiance live about 25 minutes away so local. DS3 and his wife live about 30 minutes away. With 11 of us in the house it got way too warm. We had doors and windows open to get it tolerable. I rocked the baby to sleep and he was sticking to my arm!
Yes, I like the girl. Her mother got mad at her last night. Her mother decided to move out of state last month and is angry that she won't be here to help plan the wedding in person. She has asked my mother and I to help guide her but they are going to be frugal.
-
Hi everyone! Good Morning from India! Nice to see you all doing well. My two sons who are staying away from me are reaching Guwahati (Assam) from Singapore and Bangalore (India) after a period of long 1 and half years alongwith my daughter inlaw and grand child. I am really exciting for their reception and getting confused on what they like and dislike. But I kept my kitchen garden with varieties of organic vegetables ready just to serve them when they are here. My papayas and bananas are matured but still waiting for them as I wish them to pluck it by themselves when they arrive.
Hi Meece! you are looking younger and younger. Your grandchild must have started troddling by now.
Hi Makratz! feeling good to see your posting after a long time. Hope you all are in the spirit of good health.
-
So very good to see you, Raj. It has been too long. My grandson has been up and walking for about 7 months now and is expecting a little brother or sister in a few weeks. My picture is old, maybe 18 months. Have fun with your family and don't get too tired, that is a lot of guests.
I went out and checked the AG last evening. Over 20 spears now. Cut one and handed it to baby and he wouldn't let go of it. That's a good sign of a vegetable eater.
-
Meece -I suspect it will be easier to plan the wedding if her mother is out of state...though I'm sure she will find a way to make it difficult... I'm sure even with a frugal budget, you will have all sorts of ideas to help put together a beautiful wedding. You are very talented.
Raj - so nice to see you. I'm so happy for you that you will be seeing your sons, DIL, and grandchild after such a long time.
Joan - I'm glad there are ways to reset the computer when it locks up - but if you're in the middle of something important...or don't have another computer nearby to look up how to fix the messed up one... I suppose I should look up all these fixes so I'm prepared for when they happen. Keyboard locked up - ugh - that's worse than the mouse touchpad. I told "D"H that I hesitate to move all my stuff from the old desktop (that drives me crazy it's so slow!) because I don't trust the laptop. Because they have all these fixes, I suspect they are common problems. Glad yours is taking abuse for you - lol.
-
Raj!! Welcome back!!! Great to hear from you! I can imagine what your garden looks like! YUM!! Enjoy the time with your famly!
Glad the meal was great Diane!
Glad you got to rock the baby to sleep. DOn't you just love doing that??
Sandy is at Chemo today, hope it's OK Sandy. I am thinking of you!
-
Kids had a half day, kids and more kids here all day. Just sent them home. Soccer game at 8. Can't wait to sleep!
Hope you all had a nice day.
Still thinking of you Sandy.
-
WOw, I can't believe how much snow is gone.
-
Day 4...the bag is still unopened
Raj...so good to hear from you...enjoy your family visit
Sandy....I hope you are feeling OK
Diane.....What do you know about KAMUT....Dr Oz was showing this...very high in protein........

-
Good job, Sheila - not opening the bag. I have been bad with candy...
-
I have been a good girl today.....
Water is good for me
water is good for me and refreshing too.....
Good night All
-
Sheila - I have cooked with it only once, I have included the recipe but also some information about it. I actually did like it quite a lot. Have you made farro?
-
Hi, been thinking about Sandy today...
No word from Granny yet? I haven't heard...I don't like hearing nothing...
Meece, every wedding brings drama...I hope the mom can find some way to feel involved from a distance...meanwhile, how sweet to have a baby in your life...
Friday I'm going to CT to teach my grandson's class about rocks...he is so excited and so am I. I'll bring lots of fun stuff for them to see. Meanwhile, my DD in CT has asked me to come and babysit in NJ Thursday PM....that means I will have to drive from NJ to CT on Friday....but worse than that, it means I have to have all my stuff packed by 7 Am tomorrow and it's already midnight. Too tired to move after working past 9 PM. I can never say no to anyone...when it comes to my grandkids, I don't want to say no...but this body of mine is yelling at me to slow down...week after next is college spring break. I don't have off, but there's nothing to do at work.
Sheila, how do you resist that candy???
