Spammers bombing the forums

Is there something that can be done on your end to prevent newly-registered spammers from bombing the forums with their livestream/online streaming posts? I have reported 10 such messages so far this morning.

Maybe impose a limit on how many posts a newly registered user can make within a certain number of minutes or require multiple posts to be moderator-approved before they go public? Just a thought.

Thanks for your thoughts DLL -- we have taken care of the spammers. Very strange there have been so many this morning -- it's usually very unlikely to have so many all at once. Usually we can handle them one or a few at a time, but you're right -- today they bombed us!! We'll take your suggestions into consideration. Thanks for your dilligent reporting of the spammers!

I don't bother reporting the individual spam posts anymore. Obviously there is no post-flood prevention in place yet.

I reported like about 10 of them and then I realized they are such a regular occurence around here, I just stopped. Talk about insensitive jerks!

Yes, we got a bit spam bombed this afternoon. Argghhhh. In the last weeks we have even further tightened our spam measures. We have a very tight system, but regrettably, they learn ways to get around it. Keep reporting the spam posts, as it helps us get rid of them faster, and see patterns.

    Thanks so much!

Thank you for trying... and I just ignore it...but newbies need more protection.  :  (
