Chance of breast cancer metastizing to the lungs

In less than 2 years after breast surgery and radiation, I am afraid that there is cancer in my right lung.

    Dear October baby, why do you think this? Tests done, tumor markers, symptoms? what makes you fearful this has happened?

    Was wondering the same thing bevin...so octoberbaby are you guessing or having symptoms? Fill us in. You already know radiation scars the lungs which usually doesnt show up until years later.

    Please just go to your onc and get it checked out if you are having any symptoms. The sooner you do this, the sooner you can move forward!

    I found out I have a recurrence last week following bilateral mastectomy 2 years ago. Ct scan last week showed lung nodules, very small. I am so scared, also I have been a smoker. I am ashamed of this and now regretful. I will have a pet scan this week .

    Rdhnow, I am the same, near the anniversary of 5 yrs clean, I had a pleural effusion.  Fluid drained and examined.  Breast cancer cells throughout.  They were unable to remove all the fluid.  Had a CT scan and although no actual tumors were visible they couldn't see thru the fluid.  I am also a smoker....still.  Dont be regretful, Many smokers do not get cancer it is just the unluck of the draw.  How did your Pet scan come out?  I go for mine on March 22nd.
