New Want To Play A Word Game

Maybe take a stick and draw in the sand? I love seeing the sun setting/rising over water...gorgeous.
-
What a great idea wahine, although since I'm a night owl I will only come with you to see the sunset, not the sunrise. And look, there's a diner across the street. Let's get dinner there. Besides the yummy food, there's a whole stack of great old doo-wop records in the jukebox for us to listen to! (Duke of Earl, Duke, Duke....)
-
think they have steak on the menu? I'm starving? (plus it would be low carb!)
-
Of course they do! It's a diner. No vegans allowed!
Tell 'em to stoke up the fire under the grill--ready or not, here we come!
-
And maybe we can get them to include a token dessert! Yummmm........
-
If we could just get a seat. It looks like all the tables are taken.
I don't suppose we made reservations?
-
don't worry zogo, there's another room you can't see from the street out front. This building was a speakeasy during Prohibition days and they still have what used to be the hidden bar where people would sneak in to order drinks at the bar and buy bootleg whiskey or bathtub gin to take home with them.
-
Funny, curveball! They are taking so long to seat us, I hope they don't run out of steak and have to serve us beans!
-
Shame on them if they do! Anyone who would treat us so badly must be a real beast!
-
If I have to eat beans instead of steak, I will cry real tears
-
Jane, if they make you cry, I will just have to stare them down till you get that steak!
-
Thanks, Wahine, sometimes it takes the support of a friend to get you through the tough times.
-
Well during the tough times, we can also have some heart-to-heart talks!
(as long as its not the steak thats *tough*! LOL)
-
Haha Wahine, pretty punny!
With our adventures, we really have some tales to tell in our talks.
-
It's getting late, so maybe we can talk more later? (lol)
-
Well, it's bright and early now. The sun is shining. Glorious sunshine!! I'm sooo tired of snow and gloomy days. So, let's hit the trail and be off on another adventure. C'mon gals, are you with me?
-
Let's take the train instead. Why walk when you could be riding the rails? Where shall we go? I hear the scenery on the Canadian transcontinental train is incredible, especially where it goes through the Rockies.
-
That sounds amazing! And when we get across to the other side, we could get on a boat with sails.
-
Can't wait to see all that beautiful scenery, it will be pure bliss
-
But be careful on that wet deck and hang onto the rail--we don't want any slips or falls! What are our ports of call? I'd like to go to Devon and see where my great grandmother came from. Where do you want to go?
-
Well, on the top of my lists are Ireland and Madeira, but I will be in both places in just a few days! Wanna join me? Then we can head over to Devon....
-
I'd like to see Ireland, too. Why don't we go there together, then split up for the next leg of the trip--you can go to Madeira and I'll go to Devon, and maybe meet up at our next destination after that. Is zogo coming with us? And what about Rider, did we lose him somewhere?
-
I'm still with you ladies. I'm part Irish and Scottish from my mom's side. So, I'll pack my kilts. Then when we split, I'll head to Croatia...my dad was born there.
-
Did you make the kilts yourself? If you did, you must have some skill at sewing. Let's join up again after going our several ways, and stop in Barbados on the way back. That's where my dad's family came from. Plus, their beaches are a lot more pleasant to lounge on than the shores of the North Pacific or the Great Lakes.
-
Oh what a fun trip! I need to add a sidetrip to England too, where my dad's parents came from. And Barbados, I have never been there (have you been there, curveball?)...and lets spend tons of time on the beach! Much better to be ON the beach than looking at it from the hotel window sills.
-
Barbados! I stopped there on a cruise many years ago. It was beautiful standing on the beach and looking up at the hills in the distance. The water was such a crystal blue.
-
Would be nice to pick up a nice big shell from a beautiful beach!
-
Yes, I have been to Barbados once. I also did my fourth year of college in England, but that was before I found out where in England my great-grandmother came from, so I've never been to that city. There was a lady in my church choir years ago. She came from New Zealand and I think is probably my cousin by marriage, because she had the same (married) surname as my GGM.
I'd like to go to Tavistock (GGM's birthplace) sometime and see if any of the family still live there. Won't they be surprised if I turn up on their doorstep, saying "Hello, I'm your cousin from America!"
-
I'm hungry, do you think they have Jello in Tavistock?
-
I'm hungry too. Let's all go to tea in that shop over there across the road. The sign says they have freshly baked scones and home-made strawberry jelly. Sounds yummy, doesn't it? Besides, scones are much more filling than gelatine. We don't want to be hungry again half an hour from now!
