Taken off HRT due to ADH now Im bleeding ??
This is bizarre had total hysterectomy in 1997 been on estrogen only daily since then. Few yrs ago I started on the estrogen only vaginal suppositories since I was getting alot of uti's my doctor said everything down there was raw easily aggravated and she was correct . I didn't get them as often after I starting using the stuff. Very messy but it helped used it once a week or once every two weeks. About 3 wks ago my PCP said no more HRT due to path report found ADH in the breast tissue that was removed during lumpectomy. So two days ago I feel like I have menstraul cramps and boom I start bleeding just like a period. My PCP says you need to see an ob/gyn I'm like ok but can I please have one refill of the vaginal estrogen cause it burns like a mother *#%!? She's like no ill let the ob/gyn decide ... So if I have no uterus no ovaries no cervix why am I bleeding is there anything available over the counter? I'm in so much pain I can't sit down I've got to stand or lay down Any ideas??!! So bizarre!!!

Elle, that is bizarre and I would think it might be an emergency issue and that you should see your doctor asap. I am not sure why you would bleed since you don't have anything left up in that area that should bleed at all. It might just be a polyp or something, but I would get it checked out asap for peace of mind. Is there someone who can see you today? If not, at least Monday morning first thing. Hugs and hope you find some peace and comfort soon. If the pain gets really bad, you can always go to the ER.

If it's cramping and a lot of blood I would definitely see a doctor ASAP. I do know though that my mother experienced vaginal bleeding after menopause because the tissues got so thin from lack of estrogen that they tore - just walking across a room (they put her on a vaginal cream I believe but she had to go off of it afer her BC diagnosis).

PLease do get that checked out! There could be some endometrial cells left on the "cuff" they make after taking out the cervix. From what I understand, they can respond to hormones as if you still had all of your reproductive parts - they have the same material. Anyhow please let us know - I also had a hyster (but kept ovaries and rolled the dice since I have both BC and ovarian C in the family - did not want to get on HRT because my issues seem to be estrogen fed, pray I made the right call...) and would like to know whats happening in case I find myself in the same situation. Hugs to you!!

Sorry about this happening. I don't know anything on the ob/gyn issues, but one thing I have heard is that a lady can have vaginal estrogen even after she has had breast cancer. There is mega discussion of this on these boards and a lot of ladies take vaginal estrogen to help with the issues they face from the anti esstrogen hormonal treatments. So talk to an oncologist and they will probably have no issue with what you are doing. i am sorry you are suffering.
