Lori, that does not sound fun! Hope round 2 goes better.

I was on tdm1 trial in sc and had slight progression. I will be returning to pa ( home). Will see onc next week to discuss next tx. I think it will be perjeta tax h. May be joining you all. Barb

Sorry, Barb

Anyone having liver enzymes elevating on this combo?
-
Alk Phos --- level
Alt(SGPT) --- dropping
AST(SGOT) --- dropping
When I was on Halaven, all 3 of them were dropping. My onc. Says that they don't care about the Alk Phos. My TM are also dropping. -
Mine are continuing to elevate, so... Off to CT scan Wednesday. Up until now I have not had any liver problems, kind of concerned. I can deal with the bone mets but liver? Aaaaccckk! Scary!
-
Is anyone here from Canada? I was just denyed by health Canada for Perjeta. Looking for options. How expensive is this if I were to go to the states? Has anyone had Perjeta administered one day and taxol / Herceptin on another? I am on my first chemo and have round 2 of 6 tomorrow. I could use yout incite.
-
Just had my tumor markers done. I went from 91 to 4. Now, I just have to get a pet scan. Hoping that turns out okay.
-
Redmond, I'm in Washington State and just saw the bill for my first infusion of this combo to my insurance- $53,000.00!
-
I believe my perjeta only is $9400 per treatment
-
thanks!!! do you suppose that cost differential is the difference between the first loading dose vs future doses? I have a call in to great falls (5-6 hour drive depending on the roads) as I am usure about the safety in traveling via plane (germs). Any thoughts about safe plane travel?
-
I didn't check the entire breakdown of the charges. I just saw the total for the day was $53,000. My onc said there is no "loading dose". It is the same every time. I'll have to take a look at the breakdown. I am curious now.
-
The breakdown for just the drugs was Perjeta-$27,974.70;Taxotere-$6,777.68; Herceptin-$16,148.64. The rest was all miscellaneous like the neupogen shots, administration of the drugs, etc.
-
I might sound ridiculous, but if I were going to get on a plane, I would wear a mask and gloves...good luck to you. Sorry you are having to make arrangements like this.
-
My onco must overcharge because I think they quoted me over $125k for one treatment! Fortunately I have good insurance!
At treatment 5 this morning. As some of you many recall, I had mixed scan results last month after 3 rounds. Liver met resolved, possible progression in lungs or stability. Really unsure. Because previous scans so much inflammation and infection in lung could not even see tumor but we knew there were active cells. Also, possible spread to spine to be confirmed by bone scan in one month. However, despite my liver results tumor markers continue to elevate so really disappointed. Nothing too huge considering I know many women get up in thousands. I went from 280's to 360's between 3 and 4 treatment. However, I feel like this may not be working after all.If today's tumor markers continue to go up my local onco will talk to my MDA doc about treatment change. Probably TDM1 but was hoping to have that in my back pocket. So scary and frustrating when what you thought would be great treatment doesn't come to fruition. Trying not to get ahead of my self my daily bible passage this morning even reminded me that I cannot worry about the future. That let's in the fear and anxiety. Have to live in the present trusting God is holding my hand through all of this.

Praying that this tx works for u bondgirl
-
is neulasta shot requierd with taxotere herceptin and perjeta?
-
No. That was a huge plus for me switching from carboplatin to perjeta because with the carb I had to drive back to the facility 50 minutes away just for the shot.
-
They gave me neupogen the first round, which didn't work, and i have to have neulasta now. I am on taxotere, perjeta, herceptin. I spent a week and a half in the hospital after the first go round!
-
In my case, I am on taxotere, herceptin and perjeta and they always have me come the day after chemo for the neulasta shot.
-
Are any of you taking steroid pills the day before, day of, and day after tx eith tph?
-
Yes, Barb.
-
I'm supposed to, but I refuse to gain anymore weight from those stupid pills. I haven't come close to losing the first round of steroid weight and I still eat tons when they give it to me through my IV. Shhh, don't tell my onc.
-
Yes, taking steroids too. I would pass on those -if I could, they make me so jittery.
-
Which drug requires the need for steroids? Taxotere?
-
Yes, the taxotere.
-
thanks jill. so the purpose of steroids is to prevent allergic reaction?
-
Not sure about that. That may be part of its purpose with many chemos but there is something specific to taxotere having to do with water retention. I don't really know much about it, just gleaning some of that information from stuff I've heard from infusion nurses.
-
Yes, to the steroid question. Turns me beet red for those days, lol.
