coumpounded vaginal estrogen cream

I finally started using the cream due to severe vaginal dryness and recurrant uti's and it has worked great for that. Just recently when I use it (only use it 2x a week) it causes severe itching. Mostly outside the vaginal area. I mean it is really an intense itching. Just wondering if this had happened to any one else and what if anything helped.
