So glad she's OK. Maybe it was the heat? (I'm not sure where you are but there's been awful heat all over the country). Anyway good plan to bring her to the doctor -- the 24th is this week!
-
I'm glad your mom is doing better Penny. If this happens again (and I hope it doesn't!) your mom really should go to the hospital. If it was a stroke, there is medication that they can give her to minimize long term problems. But they have to give it within a certain period of time. So best to get checked out right away.
Missing you Jenn! Thinking about you!
I hope everybody else is staying cool. We're having a cool, cloudy summer so far...but I'm not complaining!

Thanks everyone,
She seems to be just fine. Thank God!. I think it just may have been the heat.. picking at straws here but sence she isnt going to be doing any follow ups on this. If I was seeing any problems I would make sure she went but sence I dont see any lasting effects I'm letting her decide.
Its been such a hot and dry summer but we have been getting alot of severe thunderstorms so Im thankful for the rain.. Hope you all are doing well and Big Hugs to you Jenn.

For those that haven't heard, Jenn died this week.
-
I am so so so sad to hear this. Thanks for letting us know, Gilly. My heart breaks for her and her family. I think she wrote somewhere that her husband had died (which I never knew)... so that means her daughters are alone. Sending them love and strength.
-
Just logged on and found out about the loss of our dear Jenn. So many many tears.....
-
I am so sorry to hear about Jenn and so sorry I never got the chance to meet her in person...someday.
-
Sweet Jenn,
Rest In Peace!!!
-
I am so sorry to hear this. Jenn was far to young.

Thinking of Jenn today. Her NOLA Saints are playing my Green Bay Packers......feeling sad.
-
I also think about and miss her alot!
-
Aw me too... I hope she is watching her team from where she is now...
Sending all of you big hugs!
-
Hi ladies. Good to see everyone checking in. I'm sure Jenn's death will continue to hit hard for a while.
-
I think about Jenn everytime I hear something about the Saints. Remember how happy she was when they won the Super Bowl in 2010...just when she was finishing up her first set of treatments (us too!). I still can't believe she is gone.

Hi Ladies,
I miss jenn too. Its just not right.. I come here and expect to see her wonderful sence of humor and she was always so positive even when she was down. Hugs to you jenn.
Well my mother just had her 6 month check up and all her scans and she is doing just fine. Still NED. Love hearing those words. We asked her onco about the BRACA test and he thinks its a good idea to have her tested. So we did the blood work and now we wait to see if the insurance will cover it, aparently it runs about $3000.00. Fingers crossed.
I hope you are all doing well and wont be effected by Sandy. I love in the tri state area and we are in the bulls eye of her path. Getting things up and put away. I also live one block from the delaware river so that could become a problem as well. Stay safe and dry.
Hugs-- penny

Penny - Great news about your mom! Stay safe!

Good to hear from you, Penny. Glad mom is doing OK. Good luck with Sandy....Sounds like she is gonna be a real bugger.
-
Just checking in.... I'm getting ready for my 6 month checkup with mammo....so far so good. Just wanted to see how everyone's doing. (((hugs))) Donna
-
Hi Donna. We get so few posts here now. I guess we're doing ok.
-
Yep,doing OK here, too. I am gratefull for every month that passes....gets me further away from the damn BC and more toward living life. Hoping some of the other gals stop by and check in.
-
I'm doing well too! Coming up on four years since diagnosis (which was the first week of May). I think that will make me a four years survivor! Like all of you! (Or maybe it's counted from start of chemo in August?)
Glad you all checked in.
-
Hi Lilah! I'm counting from dx.
-
I'm counting from DX too...so happy 4 year anniversary to all of us! I wish Jenn was here to celebrate with us. But I'm glad to see everyone is doing well.
Patty

Ditto!
-
Just had my mammo...came back clean but the dr. Just called to say my tumor markers are up, offering a pet scan...has anyone else had their markets go up? Freaking out!
-
My onc doesn't do them so I'm no help I'm afraid. Thinking of you!!
-
I have them done every 6 months. So far, not any issues. I've also had PET scans for some unresolved hip pain. Turned out to be arthritis.
Bucc. did the Onc say how elevated the tumor marker was??
Just get the PET scan and find out what is going on. Hang on until you get some answers. Sending prayers your way.
-
Navymom...I also have them every 6 months... this time last year was a 34, then last Oct. It was a 28... now a 42.
-
So what is your next step? I can't seem to remember what the normal range is. God, I really hate cancer. So much worrying all the time. Hang in there.
-
I am having a PET scan on Monday...my insurance company has only ever let me have one, when I was first diagnosed so I am waiting for the refusal to come any time now! I will keep you posted.
