Grade 1
I have heard from a couple other ladies who are grade 1, but would like to find more. I have IDC in both breasts with definite lymph node involvement on the left side determined by a FNB and I can feel the node lump. Pet scan shows nothing else. It didn't even light up for the IDC in the right breast b/c I guess that is still smaller. My left side arose from a benign lump I have had since puberty that has changed and got bigger and harder and is now malignant. The grade 1 is one thing that is keeping me hopeful and I would just like to hear some stories. Thank you.

Hi LKSHER, I'm grade 1 and was fortunate enough that my oncotype test done after surgery was an 8 so my MO wouldn't even consider doing chemo because the side effects way outweigh the minimal benefit. Went on Tamoxifen the end of October and the only SE has been a few warm flashes. I opted for BMX since I had large and dense breasts, haven't regretted it a bit. No more fearing yearly mammos. Good Luck as you move forward in this process, the waiting for a plan is the hardest part.

Grade 1 is slower growing, so that IS a blessing.

Mine was also Grade 1, but I wasn't as lucky as iatigger my onco test came back 24 that dreaded gray area.

LKSHER - I am Stage 2, Grade 1 and my oncotype score was 11 so I was blessed too. My stage changed after the Path report came back when it revealed a micromet in the SN. Still ONC opted for Rads and I had 33 of them.

LKSHER, I was stage 1 grade 1, lymphovascular, with micromets in the sentinel node. Did not have oncotype test - in Canada it's not standard procedure yet - so I had 4 cycles of chemotherapy as well as 25 rads.
