Dr. Susan Love in remission from Leukemia

This article was in Sunday's (I get the paper a day early) Seattle Times.

Interesting article.

Loved her last comment ..."I drink the more expensive wine now..."

can't post it since it probably won't be available till tomorrow on line.

I found a link to the article:

Having cancer inspired MD to seek cause

Since I've been participating in a discussion thread over the past day or so about drinking wine, I too very much appreciate her last line!  If one of the leading experts on breast cancer says that she's drinking "the more expensive wine" now, I guess that means that the women here who enjoy our wine shouldn't worry so much.  Assuming we consume in moderation, of course!

Beesie, I was following that alcohol thread---and that is why I mentioned her last line Tongue Out

Of course, your posts are always a comfort and a source of reason and great explanation.

I found it interesting that even Dr. Love, who has worked with cancer patients most of her life, pointed out that until she experienced the journey first hand, she could not comprehend the fear, never mind the side effects of the treatments.  I guess no matter how much anyone says they "get it," they cannot till they go through it themselves....and even then, we all experience things so differently that you just have to be kinder and gentler.  Maybe that is a good practice regardless of illness Laughing
