Radiation AFTER reconstruction with Alloderm?

Is there anyone that did radiation AFTER an immediate reconstruction with Alloderm? My rads onc has done radiation on some women with this reconstruction but she says that sometimes it can change the look and sometimes make the PS's 'job' not look as good. But my PS said that Alloderm can sometimes protect things... having said that, she seemed unimpressed that I needed to do radiation after all of the 'trouble' we had gone to have this immediate recon. Even the RO was warning me that it might change the look and I am just wondering by how much.Anyone had this who can share their experience?  I posted this in the reconstruction forum as well in hopes to hear someone's story.Thanks...

Ashley - did you end up having radiation?  I had immediate reconstruction with alloderm in 2008 and was recently diagnosed with a recurrence.  Lumpectomy is next week and radiation therapy is most certainly in my near future.  I was surprised that my PS didn't want to switch out my saline implants for silicone during the lumpectomy.  Did you get any more information about the impact radiation has on the implants?
