Lotion/cream advice?

Right now I use vanicream in the AM, and calendula cream in the PM.  Despite this, the dry winter weather and day garments/night wrapping are taking its toll and I have some deep cracks on my fingers.

Does anyone have suggestions for lotions or creams that are more  powerful and/or not damaging to latex-free day garments and/or gauze wraps? Without compression, I swell within a few minutes, so applying lotion more times a day isn't feasible unless I don't have to waiting 10 or 15 minutes for the lotion to dry .  KS1

    Hi There,

I have excema so I have a lot of similar issues :) I use cetaphil heavy cream - it comes in a large jar and is kind of pricey (about $14 a jar) but it lasts a long time. My dermatologist actually recommended it. Always apply the lotion after showering so it locks in the moisture. Sometimes I also use baby oil in the shower if my skin is extra dry in the winter. In the shower/after shower is the easiest time to apply because I usually unwrap then anyway.

I also use Aveeno's excema lotion. It is a nice medium-thickness and not as intense as the cetaphil.

Lastly, since I have excema my dermatologist prescribed a small tube of Steroid cream. This I only use on really severe breakouts. Sometimes I get rough patches that turn red and will not go away without the steroid cream. I put on a small dab once a day for a few days and it is gone like magic. You might consider asking your doctor if that would work for you. It dries super fast.

I use straight up organic, virgin coconut oil. This time of year, my skin would normally look like gator skin, with the coconut oil, my hands look 10 years younger.
