Tamoxifen and weight gain...

I started Tamoxifen in February 2010 and I'm on it for the typical 5 years.  In the spring of 2012, I started gaining weight...20 pounds to be exact.  I watch every calorie and work out HARD, sometimes twice a day.  I haven't been able to lose 1 pound and I've become obsessed with it.  It's heartbreaking, frustrating and disappointing.  I'm at the end of my rope.  This has honestly been the worst part of having breast cancer for me.  ANY advice at this point would be wonderful.  Thank you.

    Are you consistently taking the Tamoxifin from one manufacturer? Different makers of Tamoxifin use different fillers and stabilizers, causing different SE. I kind of have the opposite- Tamoxifin dampens my appetite (was off it for two weeks for a hysterectomy and gained 4 lbs!). I use Mylan brand. I've found for me it has very few if any SE.

    I have used the same brand up until now.  I have an appointment with my oncologist in 2 weeks.  Maybe he can switch up the manufacturer.  Thank you!

    Just wondering what ever happen.... I'm in the same boat as you... but I've gained 30.

    Hi, I was in the same boat for a year couldn't shift the weight gain. I joined slimming world 6 weeks ago and I have lost 6 lbs.

    Hi I started tamoxifen back in june of this year and after reading your post. I wounder if that's why I haven't lost or gained a pound. I go in every 3 weeks for herceptin and zometa treatment and my weight is all ways the same.
