Removed my crabby post.

How is this supposed to help anyone?
I'm not going to have to edit to remove crabby stuff, I just won't put it in.

Where we r from is a huge racing community. We sell shirts at all of our events (sales are going very well and the season hasnt even started yet lol) and we r putting aside a big portion of sales to donate. I know it doesnt sound like much to some people, but its my way of trying to give back a little bit. Ive had my own battle and ud b amazed by the outcome of support i was given by doing the racing for boobies theme. Most people understand its not actually for boobs (cuz i have none n could care less) it was just a sayin to catch peoples attention. N as nuts as it sounds...it has. Am i going to change the world n be able to pay to come up with a cure? No, but i can die someday knowin i helped n had a fun time doing it
I met so many amazing women and a few men during my fight and continue to do so, n their names are already added to the quad n they love it. Alot of people see and know us around the US cuz of racing, so alot of ppl see the names on the quad and they ask questions and they buy shirts to help donate. Like i said, just my way of helping n alot of the names on the quad now are from people sending them to our fan site. Ive always just read the forums on sites like this one when i had questions or was down, but felt like a burden enuff to my family so ive never posted anything til now. N if people dont want to b added to the quad then its fine n if its offensive to ne1 then im truelly sorry. But ive walked this road and think its kind of my rite to be funny about it and be able to help in some small way. Is it a lauphin matter? Nope, but if i didnt come up with some way to have fun with it then id go nuts.
Hope this helps explain some and i will be able to continue to gather names and maybe some will visit a few races and see what we are about

I can only speak for myself, but as you can see you havnt gotten much response from this thread. There are a lot of women on these boards who will eventually die from this disease, me included. We dont need more bc awareness, we need a cure. Im all for raising money for the cure, but not the cheer-leading that goes into it. Im glad you're doing well, and Im glad you're having fun doing this and Im truly not trying to hurt your feelings, I just dont think you're going to find much pink-power, save the boobies support from these women.

Jayanne, I would just request that the money you raise be donated to research, not more "awareness". After all, who isn't "aware" any more?

I think the other issue here is the name of your event. Sounds like you are sincere in your cause but this is not about saving "boobies" its about saving lives. Many women here have lost their breasts but are very much alive and living normal lives. There are some women that lost their "boobies" (and some that haven't) and have distant mets and are still fighting for their lives not their "boobies".
Also you might give some details on your facebook page regarding how much of a percentage of the sales goes to charity and which charity. People are so paranoid of scams these days.

Jayanne,
Thank you for your good intentions. Many of us, living with and dying from bc, are not too keen on the pink, ta ta, boobie approach to fundraising but it sounds as if your heart is in the right place.

The money we set aside from shirt sales does go to research and i had it suggested to me that there r people without funds to afford treatment (guess i took for granted that i have insurance thats been pretty good) so im thinking about putting a portion towards them as well. To be honest this whole thing was started to honor a few friends of mine and my boyfriends family members that have lost their fight and we wanted to honor them by putting their names on our quad. Then we decided to open it up for everyone to do. So its really not even about money or awareness, its to honor those who are fighting or who have fought this disease. I just wasnt really sure how else to get it out there to get names. The shirts and the awareness things have come in after the names idea....just figured we could not only support everyone we could, but could also give back as much as we can. Im not really good at wording things so i dont think its bein understood that the main goal for us is to honor ppl by gettin names....not by getting money. I wish everyone nothing but the best and hipe i can help in some small way someday.

Jayanne, your intention is good but you should know that many women with breast cancer - myself included - don't appreciate when such a serious disease is trivialized by the use of words like "boobies" or "ta-tas", etc.. These terms are usually used when referring to breasts in a sexual context and there is nothing remotely sexy about breast cancer.
I didn't get boobie cancer; I got breast cancer.
