Fatigue

Options

On Friday I took my 9th tx.  I noticed I was feeling tired starting maybe Wednesday but this weekend I've been utterly exhausted.  I get so  much sleep that I can't sleep any more but I wake up just as tired as when I fell asleep.  I just sit in a chair feeling as I'm too weighed down to move.  I'm lucky that I'm retired and have a husband to help me but this is truly ridiculous.  I'm too tired to even hold a book to read!  I took a small bag of trash to the curb and you'd have thought I ran a marathon!  I'll see my RO on Monday (regular weekly check) but would like to know if anyone else has been this exhausted.

Hi VarolynVM, yes, I have also had a ridiculous level of fatigue. I notice it's better on the weekend when I do not have treatment. Wish I had some advice, but I think we just have to stick it out.

    Hi ladies:

I had two rounds of internal radiation the past few months and felt very tired each time I came out of it. I know there is supposed to be less fatigue with this type of radiation than the external kind, but do think it is just a side effect of radiation treatment in general.

I did find once I was done the first time, the fatigue went away within about 3 weeks. I just came back from my second week of internal rad for my second breast and feeling fatigued again. I try to pace myself and not to plan to do too, much until I know I am a few more weeks down the pike on this.

    Wish you all well!
