CindyLooWho,
Thanks...no news yet from AnneMarie... -
I am in a compression-type bra. One of my friends' PS told her absolutely no bra.
-
I find the surgical bra to be most comfortable. Lucky I have 3. Of course genie under clothes...
-
I asked about the genie bra and he said no..surprised he called me today to see how I was
-
They sent me home from surgery in a bra. It's the same brand as the one I had purchased, but a different style. I like mine better. Theirs leaves marks on my breasts where the gathers in the cups are. I know I have to wear these 24/7 for a few weeks and am trying to decide if it's worth ordering another one. Or maybe when the swelling decreases it won't leave marks anymore??
-
Had a giant Ace bandage for three days, then when I took it off, the PS said wear any comfortable sports bra you want. So I wore my JCPenney zip-front bra or my Genie bra 24/7.
I think it took about a month and a half for him to give me the o.k. to wear an underwire, which he did recommend. (But he said I no longer had to sleep in a bra.)
-
Dulcigirl I had the same problem with my surgical bra leaving marks on my boobs from the swelling. I agree so much with you about the underarms. I sometimes felt I had two arm pits and hated myself in sleeveless clothes because of it. Very pleased now.
-
Thanks, Terry! So did your swelling go down to the point where it stopped leaving marks?
I confess that I'm "having a moment" right now. Not sleeping cuz I'm terrified that I'm going to look too big. That was one of my greatest fears in this process. I was afraid 650-700 was going to mke me look too big. Each time I met with my PS I said I wanted to look natural and not too big. I KNOW he's very good so I am anxious to hear why he felt he needed to go with the 800's once he got in there...but right now I'm awake worrying about complications increasing with heavier implants, issues with the weight of the implants, not fitting my tops,.....being propositioned by bikers......
Or is this fear part of the normal "Night #3" progression? -
I'm worried they will never drop, never look right naked, never feel somewhat normal instead of like squatters...hmmm I hadn't thought about bikers though....adding that.
-
Has anyone been itchy the day after the exchange..
-
I wasn't but a couple of my friends were.
This time they only used paper tape on me which helped a lot. Are you itchy at incision site, tape site, or everywhere? -
No just the incision sites..they used the Helix tape..
-
I was itchy.
-
Initially they put on a surgical bra with an ace bandage over it.
I have to admit I wish I had no bra on so I could feel the relief of no tissue expanders.
-
Question: what are upper poles ? I am sure I should be able to figure that out, but my head's foggy this a.m.
-
I was really itchy for 4 days after. I took benydril. It took the edge off. I had fat transfer to my upper poles not sure if that was it but it eventually went away.
-
JodiRocksth,
I had fat transfer from my ABD...can't take benadryl because it decreases the effectiveness of tamoxifen...not to bad at the moment.. -
Beth,
I'll take a shot at a definition for upper pole...it's just the upper part of the breast. Kind of the transition between the upper chest into the breast? Basically after aging a bit and nursing my kids I didn't have any upper pole. Lol. You know when you wear a push up bra that shoves the girls up and rounds out the top part? That's the upper pole. Now it's back without the bra!!! -
Hi Ladies,
I haven't been here a while, but back with some thoughts or questions. Quick rundown, had expanders more than a year, then exchange in September, then revision to right side in December with sling due to asymmetry. Had an infection for a couple weeks. Now right side is bigger and more projection. I get so depressed every time I shower and get reminded. Then today I tried to take a photo, holy sh**. Scared myself! Then I remind myself of the whole picture and know I am lucky!?! So my question is how and when do I/we quit obsessing and just say they are not prefect, but good? I imagine like all things time helps. Just venting here so many of you have such great attitudes!
-
Dulcigirl it went down before I went back for my two week check up. I have to admit I was getting scared I would have wrinkled boobs.
-
sarasowise I don't really know the answer to your question I think I still obsess a bit but . . . I have been warned not to get my expectations too high. So I know that it cannot be perfect but no one is even with natural breasts.
-
Self Talk: Tissue expander purgatory is better than having active breast cancer, so no whining, Self.
Sincerely,
Michelle

Hi everyone...I'm new to this thread as I got my TE's about 3 weeks ago. I am up to 300 cc's so far. Did any of you have a hot burning feel right between your breasts? I swear if I put water on it, I will hear it sizzle!
-
Hopex3: I got my TE's on 11-5-12 with BMX. About 4 weeks out from surgery my BS switched my pain med from Norco to Neurontin (nerve pain med) when I described a lot of burning pain across my chest. After starting that med I have not had any more pain at all, even with fills. I had my last fill a month ago and am at 600cc each side. I see my PS on Thursday and hope to get an exchange date (fingers crossed).
-
cmartin..that is great..would love to see pics..I am starting to get used to these 500cc TEs..still maybe too big for me, but other day i thought i didn't look half bad! :P Still am looking forward to exchange in the near future...hopefully will get a date this week. I have not been on site in a while..did all of you guys get choice of silicone vs saline?
-
My ps does not use saline.
-
Mamma..My PS only uses silicone as well. He said I will like silicone as its more of a natural feel.
-
Mamatwinz: my PS will do either but recommends silicone as being less water balloon-ish than saline.
-
I had swelling for a couple of weeks. PS put my in the same surgical bra as BMX and I wore it one week when I went in for my follow up at one week he told me I could switch to a good underwire push bra to wear 24/7. I had my last revision the end of Nov and I am still to wear my underwire 24/7. I did find a really comfortable underwire push up sports bra so it is great sleeping in and I have run a couple of times and it keeps the girls in place
-
Did anyone still feel a little tight after surgery...hope it's just swelling...
