thanks ducky but you do what you gotta....I was there @ 330...damn, lol!!! On my way to Walmart, CVS, my sons house...
HAPPY SATURDAY!!
-
I admire you too Sandy! You are SUPERWOMAN!!!!!!!
Meece, you need to send emails to your family and save your voice. My Mom was going through exactly what you are. It was strange to not be able to talk to her so we texted each other. Hang in there and sshhh!!!!!!!!!!
Snowing here, Joan. So sick of the snow!
-
Not snowing here, but that is why Walmart now just in case, lol....so not amazing...
Meece agreed, lost my voice twice once for a week and the other for a couple of days, so annoying.
take care of yourself.
Walmart here I come!!
-
Sandy..I live right up the highway from Walmart and have only been there once. I hate that trek up State Rd.
toward the bypass. Pain in the ass. Traffic is horrendous headed that way...and how about the friggin parking lot. The idiots drive like they are in the Indianapolis 500.you take your life in your hands just looking for parking. I was annoyed, and guess what......" I wasn't even the one driving driving the friggin car...lol......lots of good stores in that area, but so congested. Like I said...only a short distance away......never been to Giant either....same reason...traffic, and coming back is just as bad, headed toward Township Line. Depending on the time of day...it to is a mess. I bitched about Baltimore Pike when I lived in Springfield too. Probably just me....my husband use to say to the kids....."if there is 2 cars in front of your Mother, she calls it traffic"........the only time I don't want to be the first car is going to the shore....if your 2nd and the cop is hiding and flips that radar gun on, at least with someone in front, you get a warning.........oh did I mention, I have a radar detector, which goes off, but if your first car, and he waits till your on top of him, he can get you. Not often, but it can happen. Been lucky so far, and been using one for 26 years........last year my son-in-law got nailed. Only car on the back road, cop coming toward him....very dark. Flipped on his radar, and got him just as his detector went off...too late....big ticket. He was driving his Corvette, and only 9 miles over the limit......clearly it was the car..not the speed..expensive weekend..... -
Hope your voice comes back and you feel better today, Meece.
Hope Jacob feels better - and that you don't get it. (I live in fear of stomach bugs - big time vomit-phobe.)
Hope you have fun at Walmart Sandy.
Mom is about the same - maybe ever so slightly better - hard to tell. Still has what seems to me like anterograde amnesia(as opposed to retrograde where you don't remember the past). When I mentioned the meteorite in Russia story to her - she remembered she had heard it on the news earlier that day - so that was encouraging, but when we went to leave and she was concerned about how she was going to deal with any problems she might have when we were gone and we told her for the millionth time that the nurse's station is right outside her door - she can go ask them for help, she still had to get up and see to know what we were talking about - 3 times within a half hour... She recognizes it when she sees it (at least most of the time as far as I can tell), but when we try to reassure her that there are nurses and aides nearby if she needs anything, she doesn't remember...

Sheila, Linda, Snowing like crazy here. Ground still a bit warm by it's coming down.
You? I thought it was supposed to start tonight...surprise.
Yup, I slept in and am not getting dressed yet. -
That's clever, Sheila!
Still without a voice. My mother doesn't and won't text, and I did try to send her an email, but she doesn't check it much.
My grandparents were deaf and it brings a new appreciation for their QOL. At least I can still hear. I think I'll get the white board out and sit it next to me. Easier than paper napkins and then at least everyone in the conversation can see at the same time. I feel like I am living a game of Pictionary!
It's overcast today, and I "slept" so poorly, I am still lying down. I need to get outside to start preparing my garden for this year. Nothing peeking up in my AG garden yet. I am so anxious to see the little spears breaking through the soil.

This is yesterday's take on today's weather -- from my meteorologist colleague
==First storm - Accumulations between 0 to 2”. The roads are pretty warm so driving conditions should be ok. Keep an eye on Saturday night into Sunday in case the second, much larger storm decides to track more westward. Right now it looks like that storm is an eastern New England storm. Cape Cod might see 6”-12” from this storm and I would not be surprised if the Forks get some snow from this passing storm.Sunday and Monday are extremely cold. Wind chills Sunday in the teens and single digits.Don't you love winter??

Made a pitot homemade soup, and did some cleaning......my tongue should fall out..my cleaning insists of rearranging the furniture, cleaning what dirt shows up when I move things, and clean the glass table tops.
Funny story, when I was 24, 1 had 3 kids under the age of 2 years old. The girl 2 doors down had none at the time..........she would say to me when we were out hanging clothes ( diapers for me...(remember the kind you had to wash)......she would be hanging her fancy undies.....before going inside she would say "I cleaned the whole house this morning".......I got so sick of hearing that all the time, so one day I said to her "yea, I cleaned this morning too, just kept jumping up and down on the floor till the dust landed in a different spot"...,,,,,the woman was obsessed with cleaning..I would hear people say "my God you could eat off her floors...I would laugh and say, shit sometimes you can't eat off my table...I was obsessed with doing what was necessary, and then spending the rest of the day with my kids........I would say, "there will be work when I am dead and gone". .........and I never saw a headstone that read "she had the cleanest house"...my house was very clean, but that did not come first. My love was my kids, husband, cooking, and baking, however.......
When I did go nuts and really clean my husband would come home from work, walk in and say....." Oh I'm so sorry, I must be in the wrong house". .........So today I gave the house "a lick, and a promise", and called it cleaning......lol -
Duckie, I'm with you. I don't remember killing myself over the house, but I do remember all the fun things we did. Sometimes I think my kids only remember the stuff I did NOT do for them...
Sandy, you are amazing with all you do...it sounds like a good thing that you are not feeling as sick; but real fatigue can be frustrating. I do not think you are going to change a thing if I tell you to listen to your body...your heart is way too big!
Ray, Congrats on the job...I hope the details fall into place. You had quite a week...sometimes it just gets out of control. It is upsetting about the insurance/surgery issue. Will that change after a certain time has passed?
It seemed to be a bad mechanical week - must have been those space objects...my car breaking then me denting it, your brakes, your laptop...at work some equipment got broken and nobody confessed...this is not normal stuff. I hope you have backed up your laptop - if not, there are ways to get your files.still snowing...................
-
lol-wrong house, Ducky...
I have to admit, I don't like a messy house - my house is always a mess. I hate to clean and don't want to clean all the time - so I wish my family would put their stuff away so I could be efficient and not have to spend forever cleaning so I can have a clean house. Hasn't happened yet. When they are away at school, I'll be able to keep up with it - but it won't matter at that point. Why is that always the way?
So today, I ironed some of DS's tshirts (had been squished in a laundry basket - had to iron them(but I iron most things anyway). He took one that I had just ironed to put it on and kissed my cheek. He must have read my post from the other day - lol.
Joan! I had no idea it was still snowing so much nearby. It was sunny here- snowed a little this morning- melted by early afternoon. Hope it stops for you soon!
-
Christ.....Lol......if I just rearranged the furniture he would say...." Oh I see someone was really working hard today"............yea, right......it took me about1 hour to move the shit, and he thought I slaved all day......he died and never knew that secret.
When we were selling the house he said. What the hell are we going to do with all the shit in this house when the realtor brings people to see it.......guess what, I figured that out fast. When they would call, I had 3 huge laundry baskets, and 6 kids. I would fill them to the top. Throw a towel over it so my "very organized neighbors" could not see the stuff, and my kids would run down the alley with the baskets to my best friends house........problem solved. Lol -
Ray sorry about all your going through. I hope Jacob feels better. Congrats on the job!!
Did you have fun at Walmart Sandy??
I was not at the gym, I went out to lunch with my DH. Eating burgers......now I need to go to the gym!
Feel better Meece, try a nap!
No Joan, I HATE winter! Guess I should not live in New England.
lol Ducky!
Supposed to snow again here soon too. Don't want it!
-
I know - who's idea was it to live in New England?!!
You are pretty clever, Ducky. It would take a lot more than 3 laundry baskets to get all the crap out of this house! Maybe I can pretend we're having a realtor over and take our stuff to a friend's house...
-
Oh Christ...The realtor said..."you must get rid of the clutter when people come". I said "ok, do you know anyone who wants to adopt 6 kids, if you do just for "shits and giggles, I will throw in their Father, and all their toys"......,,the next question I heard was......Hey Mom, why did that lady walk out of the house mumbling.......kids were confined to the front steps, so when she asked questions about the house they couldn't contradict what I lied about.......lol
-
NO SNOW......RAIN....or WIND
Very pleasant outside
Very unproductive day.......
-
Sometimes it's good to have unproductive days!
Snowing here, will snow tomorrow with 50 mph winds
My neighbor put her dog down today. SHe was my favorite dog. I was her pet sitter. She was 15
-
Sorry for your pet friend Linda.....
I'm having to mANY UNPRODuCTIVE DAYS LATELY...I'M NOT LIKING IT
Made some sweet potato fries and egg salad......Isn't that exciting?
I'm restless......lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalaa
-
Good Night TOL.......
-
Why are you restless??
Sweet potato fries sound yummy! I'm cooking spinach ravs and tomatoes for when DH and DS come home. DS won't touch them!
-
Sheila, early night? Hope you feel refreshed tomorrow!
I did nothing today...and it felt great.
Ducky, too funny...picturing the kids hefting the baskets...I have my own way of cleaning that involves laundry baskets or black bags....
-
9:45 PM - snowing like mad here....Chris, Linda, are you seeing white yet?
-
Yes, it's snowing here. DS is working till 11:30, don't liike him driving in the snow!
-
I haven't looked to see if it's snowing, but I hear the wind. I hate the wind.
Don't you hate it when the bottom of your foot starts to cramp, so you flex your foot to try to stop the cramp and then the top of your foot starts to cramp. So you tell your DD - hey, look at my mangled, cramped foot - and you pull your leg up to take off your sock for a better view and then your calf decides to get in on the action and cramps up? I hate when that happens.
-
Wow Chris, I don't think I ever had all that happen at once! I hope that doesn't happen often.
Snowing, windy......
-
Happen to me all the time. I just keep saying....oh shit, oh shit, it is awful, and usually happens in the evening.......since I have no one to show it too (live alone) ........I just say Oh shit, till it stops........
Someone told me get up and walk.......but I'm so busy saying. "Oh shit".....I forget to......lol -
Just hit the 2 year mark on Friday the 15th......went completely unnoticed by any of my kids....guess that's. a good thing........right?????????.....
-
Yes it is a good thing Ducky. I want my kids to never think of me and cancer again.
LOL on the oh shit! I have heard you are supposed to walk around too.
