Feel better Meece!
Good news on the undies!!
Sun is out, 40 degrees!! More snow tomorrow night
-
Oh Meece - I hope they get you your Rx soon. DH might have some cough med with codeine left from when he was sick - I wish I could send it to you!
Glad you got new undies, Sandy. I could use some myself, but I want to get less fat first...Your daughter should be proud of herself - taking care of a family, working 2 jobs, and going to school? I couldn't do that. Best of luck to her. I can feel for her not using the degree she has - I'm not using mine either. Sucks.
Have fun blowing the stink off yourself, Ducky - lol
So, I'm here at rehab - parents have dozed off. Just got a text from DH - his mother fell getting off the bus (ADA bus) and is at the emergency room... DH says she looks okay so I hope she is. I hope he doesn't end up getting fired for leaving work to take his parents to the ER every other month...

I'm sure your DHs employer understands when parents are aging and you DH is taking care of them.
-
I had one dose of leftover cough med. w/codeine. It wore off 2 hours ago and I really don't feel like dressing and getting in the car to go pick up the rxs. I can't call to see if they are ready cuz I have no voice. I could be making a dead run.
-

Sheila, you are such a sweetie. DH just got home and headed over to get my stuff. I have been sleeping off and on all day. Any amount of sleep is better than what I got last night. Watched Sleepless in Seattle twice!
-
Boy, Linda, I don't miss the smell of teenaged boys!

Sheila is aawesome!! Hope the meds make you feel better and SLEEP!!!
Boys STINK!!!

Side effects of one of the meds says may manifest as central nervous system side effects, such as mental confusion and hallucination, restlessness and tremors. Weeeee. It is supposed to numb the nerve sensors in the lungs. I hope it works. Can't wait to sleep.
-
Meece....I'm hoping for a good night sleep for you......♥
-
Sleep well, Meece.
Sleep well, TOL.
-
Good Night TOL
I love you my sisters...♥
-
Good Night!
-
Sleep, sweet sleep for Meece tonight!
And for all of TOL
-
Meece, I hope you get a good long block of sleep. They always list the extreme SEs with any drug. You may feel a little out of it while you have to take it.
It sounds like it was a day to enjoy outside. I was at work at 7:30 am until 3:00 pm...went to get valentines for 6 Grandkids and 3 big DS's who don't have kids. I forced myself to address & mail right away.
I ordered some things from amazon and kohls and just realized my driveway is snow, ice and ruts - not good for a delivery truck or guy. I wonder what they'll do. Maybe tomorrow will bring enough melting...
Chris, sorry to hear about DH's mom...so stressful for you...hope she's OK.
Nite all,
Joan -
Goodnight dear friends......
-
Good Morning! I'm hoping most of you are still asleep!
-
As far as I know, DH's mom is okay. She had an xray and nothing was broken and she went home. I didn't get more details. It's like pulling teeth to get that guy to tell me what I want to know - and half the time he doesn't bother to find much out so he doesn't know much to begin with. I got home around 9 and got to work making ziti to take to my mother (last I heard, she weighs 100 lbs (and is 5' 8" tall) so we're still trying to make sure she has food she likes to eat). I knew MIL hadn't broken anything and went home, so I didn't bother trying to find out more.
At rehab, the case worker came into the room and said they were thinking 2 weeks and my mother can go home. She still isn't great. I don't know how much more her cognition can improve. She still has moments when she gets confused. Like yesterday when she came out of the bathroom and asked how to flush the toilet. I said - you push the handle - see the silver handle on the front of the tank? Often she doesn't see things that are right there. Then she pressed it.
Unless she can improve to where she was before this whole mess, she will never be able to be left alone. My father's plan is to get an aide 20 hrs a week so he can still go to the gym and do whatever shopping he needs to do (I hope he will still go golfing as much as he had been when the weather improves). My mother doesn't remember things from one minute to the next these days so we go through the effort to explain things to her only to have her ask the same question minutes later. Sometimes I think when we tell her about something that happened, she might remember it, but we never know what she will retain. I don't know if she will understand that she can't be left alone and needs an aide. It's going to be tough.

{{{Chris}}} SO sorry you are having to deal with this!

Hi ladies....been up since 6am....my daughter sent me a text to ask me if I had a valid driver's license...going to Chicago in April for her sons wedding, and I have to fly (1st time on a plane, scared shitless), but have to go..............like that question had to be asked 2 months ahead, and at 6am. Did not get to sleep till 1am.......not to mention the fact, I am so f-----g tired of my kids texting me instead of picking up the f-----g phone and calling. Anyway the answer to that would be..........I have a paid for, valid license, but never got my picture taken....I told her that and she texted back...."we'll that isn't good enough". At 6am, in the morning I text back....."guess who doesn't give a shit"........it is due again, by April 24th, so this time I will get all the shit done, picture too.........
I am claustrophic, have a fear of heights, and am petrified of flying.....plus........how the hell do you pack friggin clothes for a wedding in a friggin 2x4 piece of luggage, and expect tp look presentable 2 days later.............I said to another daughter......."They won't have a problem finding the Groom's family, we will be the ones who look like we slept in our clothes all night"....guess I better go send that license app to Harrisburg..........and guess what......I am flying on the same plane as this "pain in the ass daughter". She said to me "ask your Dr. To give you something for the plane"...I told her "if it isn't I.V. Panthanol, donT bother". Oh we'll, it is what it is......

Ducky, you will do fine flying. I am sure you will.
I have to go in to get my license renewed next month. Thay have given me two extensions by mail, but they said I must go in, take the test and have my vision checked before I can get my renewal.
-
Really Meece.....I will be 78 in April....they have not told me to have an eye test yet.....unless when I get there for the Photo, they say....."ok, old lady, stand in front of the eye chart, next to the camera"....oh well shit happens.......actually I never got my Photo taken 2 years ago, when I renewed it. In Pa., we can do it every 2 years, instead of 4. So considering I don't buy "green bananas"........I do it every 2. My kids laugh at me...Hey, I'm not giving them anymore then I have to.......
-
When I remarried 7+ years ago, I got a new license with my new name, and they let me get a new picture. It happened on a day when I was taking DS in for his license and he made me irritated by forgetting his paperwork at home. I had to run home and get it and my picture shows my unhappiness. Probably what I really would look like if I were pulled over, so for that, I am grateful to get to have a new photo.
