Diane I am so sorry.....did she make her appearance? I am sure that DS doesn't want to say anything to you about how much he knows....he is paying attention.....
Ducky what kinda cake is that and oh for all of your walmart had a clearances and I got 2 packages of underwear, so excited.....3.00 per pack....glad you have the kind of relationship with your kids where they invite you over, mine don't like me cause I don't keep my mouth shut, but what they don't is I have backed off and they can let my 3 year old grandson stay up all night if he wants, take him to the bowling alley with my son, arriving home at 1130pm or decide where he sleeps, which usually is in bed with my son and dil.....I also have backed off with my youngest daughter who has the idiot for the husband who is lazy lets her work 2 jobs, doesn't want to work...she bought a house when she met him with her father and she is about to lose the house cause he hasn't worked since July....have no idea where she is moving, not in with me....oh welll.....just worried about the grandchildren, but if they have clothes and something to eat then I am good....will see Andrew every other week and switching b/t the 2 gd's every other weekend.....if they want to screw there kids up then do so....I haven't said anything about anything in a whole 2 weeks which is progress for me.....funny thing is they judge me on how I raised their brothers (the twins).....interesting...
Anyway, hope you all had a nice weekend....Macy's was awesome, brides and grooms coming in all day I got 3 in a 4 hour period AND a co-worker brought me in a new pair of black UGGS that don't fit her......Linda don't send your son here, enough with the twins, have fun with him, mine and I don't talk, unless they want someting.....Ray were r u? .....Deb.....shovel enough this weekend, is it bengay time, lol...
See you all tomorrow, it is ice cream cone time...love you all!!!

Yes, we had the appearance. I am drowning myself in DQ at the moment. Sorry about the link - it would have worked if I had pasted the whole link. http://www.werdyab.com/2012/04/20-things-mother-should-tell-her-son.html Try it now.
-
Ok - I see it still didn't work. On the page it takes you to, choose "try me on for size" and then choose 20 things....
-
Diane...Enjoy your ice cream.....
I'm retiring to another room....
Good Night

I need a new mouse. I keep having trouble scrolling down. Love my wireless mouse but have had it for a few years now. Getting some gray hair on it. (mouse - gray hair --- trying to be funny here) Actually, want a new computer but don't have the $$. (I wonder if anybody does.) Then I want (& will need soon) a new printer/scanner & want wireless. But before I get any of that, I need high-speed & then a router for Wi-Fi. (still on that out-dated crappy dial-up---in my circle of friends, I'm the only one that still does).
Sounds like I'm making out a Christmas list... lol
I want a DQ. Butterfinger Blizzard please. Anybody taking orders?? There used to be one that DH & I passed on the way home from our Kohl's/Target area about 20 miles from us. This was the closest one to us other than one actually in the Mall that I rarely go to. The only time I get DQ now is when I go up north to my DD's & of course, not open in the winter. Ugh!!
ducky ~ Homemade Sour Cream LL Cake. Sounds absolutely yummy so far. What's in it? Is it a pound cake? LL is? = luscious lemon perhaps??

still up here....no work tomorrow...snow day at college.
Diane, I know the pain of separation is great...I hope you will have the opportunity to plan visits often. One thing that helps me is to write - make memory books or short videos with fun things we've done...I want them to always know how important my DGC are in my life.
There really are no words...I hope your son can encourage the strong family connection.
Hugs and prayers for you the days and weeks ahead...
Sheila, Yes, I did go for a quick trip to the snow-beach today and it was beautiful. I took lots of pics. Tomorrow the roads will flood with the rain on top of the icy snow.
Sandy, I love black Uggs...good timing...do you still have snow piles around? When the brides come in to Macy's, do you suggest things? It must be fun; but everyone's taste is so different. I'd have trouble keeping my mouth shut if they picked something hideous...maybe you can remind the brides that they will need lots of fancy underwear....
I agree about the DGC - we can't really control what our adult kids do...we can just try to be a consistent positive presence in the grandkids' lives even if from a distance.
Linda, I can't believe the news in Boston...wow glad you are making progress with the plowing. My drive is snow-covered and cars down at one end. We just keep packing down the snow -- but tomorrow the rain will make it very slippery.
On LI the south shore has school but the north shore is closed. Including my school. Yay!
The Long Island Expy was supposed to open at 5 PM Sunday but they are still pushing, towing and fork-lifting stuck cars so they can plow it. That's my route to work.
Hi Ducky, Deb...here's to a good week ahead.

Sheila, avatar is at Lake Louise near Banff, Canada. I was taking a travel course for my job in Alberta and British Columbia. It is beyond breathtaking. [I thought about it when this week's Bachelor was filmed there
(- same lake where some annoying girl fell in and faked hypothermia)]
-
Good Morning. I love the pic too Joan! Enjoy your snow day!
-
Ok,ladies., after reading your posts, then checking mine, I had to go change my underwear......why you ask.......cause I peed them after reading what I wrote.....Sour Cream LL Cake. Lol, lol .......ok, better stop laughing, or I'll have to change my undies again .........that LL was suppose to be LB. meaning Pound Cake......Sour Cream LB cake. Lol.......hey, never said I was the sharpest knife in the drawer.......anyway...dinner was delish, and they were thrilled with the cake. My daughter said...."oh Mom, Sean Jr is going to be thrilled....he finished the last piece from my birthday 2 nights ago...this boy is the love of my life, so I will make him 1 cake a week now.
Sandy.....I am one too who says what I think. I usually begin like this...... "I'm gonna say something to you, don't take my head off, cause your probably not gonna like it, but I'm saying it anyway". They usually come back with...."yea I probably won't, but go ahead, what is it". They listen....I get to say what I think, and they get to take the advice, or go along doing things wrong...lol...(in my opinion of course).....but honestly sometimes, their reason for doing whatever it is makes sense, once I hear their side.......many times, many, many times, my kids will ask my opinion. Just one doesn't, but he thinks he knows it all anyway. Very opinionated. Probably a good thing, at least he can't blame me for "his life". Plus he wouldn't listen anyway....
Today is shitty here (as Sandy knows)..,,rain, and dreary. A good cleaning day......lol,lol, yea, like that's gonna happen...lol.lol. Oh shit have to go change my undies again. I have to control myself. Much underwear to wash....no detergent.....( from washing my undies), and I'll be damned if I am going out in this shitty weather........back to my IPad games....
Going to buy the new Mac All in One computer, as soon as I can get one of the kids to give me a ride to Delaware (no tax, and 20 minutes from home. Just ordered a Zagg keyboard for my IPad. Ok ladies, have a great day...stay warm..... -
Dial up, Val? Is it slow? I think I would go insane. I hope you can get high speed soon!
Kids are home today - thankfully - I wouldn't have wanted DD driving in that mess this morning.
DD is still sleeping and DS has been up laughing at stupid videos on YouTube. Some guy demonstrating how to "make" things like - a tuna sandwich - in the end, he was smashing it with an actual fish...and then how to make wine - he took a bowl of grapes - smashed them with his hand and then scooped some smooshed grapes and whole grapes up with his hand, put the mess in a wine glass and then smashed the glass. For some reason, DS thought that was hysterical...
I'm a little nervous about what is going to happen with all the snow that didn't get cleared away properly when it keeps icing, raining, and snowing every other day this week. Is it just me, or does it seem that they did a much worse job clearing away the snow this year than the huge storm 2 yrs ago? I went to rehab yesterday and it was scary. The left 2 lanes on the hwy weren't too bad, but the right lane would come and go - and getting on the hwy was scary - no merge lane to speak of (maybe that's why the right lane would disappear - it became the merge lane for the off ramp. The ramp I take to go to rehab is actually and exit only lane. I'm driving along and then I see ahead, it's full of snow- so I merge into the next lane and look for the off ramp. I missed it because by the time I saw it, I was on top of it- and it was practically a 90 degree turn. wtf, DOT? I can't imagine it's much better today. Actually, DH just texted me that he got a message that I91 is closed in Windsor because of ice.
Be careful out there if anyone decides to venture out.
I keep hearing sirens...
(((((((TOL)))))))
-
Good Morning!!
Chris be careful and take care of yourself!!
OMG Val Dial up!!
Joan....nope no piles all have melted and they are saying 51 today, whatever....yep I do give my opinion, probably get on my nerves also...we are not a big Macy's, kinda small, so tell them to go to another one if they want, register with us and then go there, that way we have te credit....I am not the bridal consultant but have learned from the best....still haven't tried on the uggs, can't wait they are in my.
Diane thanks for the link will look at it in a few...hope things are better and I am sure DS will make sure you have skype where you can talk.
Ducky, your forgot the receipe......they really think I am an idiot, and my older son, doesn't really like what I say, especially if it has something to do with my granddaughter, who I blame him and her mother for her issues, told him so and that is when a couple of weeks ago he threw me out of his house and called me a liar, I didn't leave but haven't really be back since, was there Friday but not for a long time, also called him cause there is something on in the community and wanted to tell him, I heard he might be getting blamed for it...he was rude...actually they all yell at me no wonder the twins talk to me the way they did...yep weather is rainy but I have to go out so will....later...glad you had a good time at your daughters....wondering if I need an i-pad not that I can afford one but don't really know anything about them...
stay warm all and have a wonderful Monday...
