Oh yeh next week whoo hoo ! My Dh is working nights next week...you can be my date....lol
Im not having rads either...our 'un shock' club will beed to be renamed! -
Hi everyone, I hate this netbook !!! have tried to start this three times and the flippin thing keeps seizing up. Then words turn blue literally and vanish Arghh.
Traii, thanks for f/b going on in a min to have a mooch.
DH off for a beer with his shed mate, hurrah. Will do him good. Finished moving rooms around after FIVE hours, why do men have to make those weird grunting noises when moving smallish bits of furniture ? I moved all the smaller things pictures etc, then put them all back again silently lol.
Love your DH's saying, wise man.
Have a lovely Saturday, 9.30 Friday night here.
p.s. did you havea sore mouth with cmf ? feels like someone has peeled the skin off !!Benny, pic is lovely and considering what you have gone through you look wonderful honestly.
Lack of sleep Grrr been there after this weeks chemo, burning from mouth to you know where too. Thursday worst, today bit less and hopefully tomorrow better again.
Hope you do too. Porridge yum, it has kept me alive I swear the last few months, Websister is truly an angel.
Thank you for hug for my GD, it is the second to youngest one, not the horse mad one.
The birthday party at the stables was great, all the little ones had food, games and a pony ride. At the end birthday girl gave them all a miniature trophy each. They were so thrilled and I did post pic of cake some pages back.Dakota, you have been incredible through all of this, so glad you haven't had too many se's with your busy life. Working on cake for the 14th lol.
Hope that snow doesn't mess up your weekend. Forecast for here on Sunday, yuk.Caitlin, have had Neulasta after every chemo, no bother at all, hope same for you.
Reading back pages on here is quite moving, we have all come so far and you will too before you know it.Lesleyanne, wonderful that you can now excercise, just take care you are precious to us.
Liefie, my son was bullied too. We also took it into our own hands to sort and sure enough they became good friends. Nowadays all frowned on worse luck. Her Mum and Dad have to go through the right channels. As her Nana I want to go to the school and put in my tuppence worth but can't.
nihahi, you ok ?
Bearcub, Carla, Jennie and all our warriors have a lovely weekend.
-
Edi i didnt have blah mouth with cmf hun. Prob gargle salt n water thats what i used with tax.
Ive got a few back and side aches the last couple of days coming and going. Could be chemo, after marth of tax still or zoladex...well hoping thats all that it is!
Good on your DH finishing after FIVE hours...lol...men cant be silent sleeping let alone working....lol
Enjoy your night. Sun is shining...birds still chirping and ds is off to my mums shortly for a play while i shop and fo house work...!! -
Traii, thanks will get a salt and water mix to use before bed. Have a lovely day xxx
-
Benny!!!!! Whoohoo! I just got home from riding Shiny and thought about you and how much fun it would be if you could visit and I could take you riding on the beach. It really is super fun! I am actually going to get a little help with her tomorrow - yes a lesson! She likes to buck when asked to lope (canter for you English gals). It isn't a big buck and she isn't trying to dump me so I'm not too worried but I would like to correct the behavior (she is new to me), so we get off on the right foot. She is really great and I rode her bareback in a halter today so she isn't a bad girl, just gets excited when asked to move out.
Dakota - Awesome that Valentine's Day is your last chemo. It is my one-year anniversary for my surgery (feb 15 2012 - boob wack off). I am soooo up for a virtual toast.
Caitlin - PM me and we can exchange phone numbers. I'd love to talk with you. I have been through the ringer and I'm still standing! Oh, sorry - I sund like a weird 80's song.
Love to everyone else and websister - tomorrow is the day! Can we all be in your pocket? hehe

I would definitely go ahead and take the Claritin - it can't hurt, and might help. Get the generic, Loratadine, it's cheap. And even if it doesn't help the Neulasta pain, at least you won't have any allergies. LOL! :-)
I took it every time (with the MO's blessing) and had only moderate pain after the first dose, mild after the second, only a little after the 3rd, and virtually none for the rest. I had the Neulasta shot after every chemo, so 6X total, and it was not bad at all for me. Definitely had some days of allover achiness but not unbearable like some have described.
I'm about a week and a half out from last chemo now and what a relief! Feeling a little better every day, and knowing I don't have to go do that again makes any SEs feel less. I wonder how long it will take for food to taste good again?
-
Wow Jennie. I hadnt realised you were one and a half weeks out. CONGRATS!!
Heres to hoping your food starts tasting yummy soon
-
Jennie, Congratulations and well done. !! Let me know when food good again, I can't wait lol xx
Thought today would be a good day, who am I kidding ? Four days after chemo and don't know where to put myself !!
Mouth swollen and still sore despite mouthwash. Three days of being in the loo is losing it's novelty even though it is quite nice in there. Radio, heating etc getting sick of the sight of it all. Just grateful it is downstairs lol.Worrying about any of you that may be where this snow storm is. Keep warm and safe.Reports on the news here are awful.
Our news also focusing on the fact that lots of our processed meals have now been found to contain up to 100 percent horse meat ! They all state beef, but there is a huge scandal brewing.
They seem to think someone in these companies has decided to save money this way. I just thank my lucky stars we don't do processed meals but my horse owning friends are all becoming vegetarian.Keemo you and Dakota are going to have such a lovely Valentine's day. We will all raise a glass to you both.
DH gone to get the weeks food shopping bless him. Love him sooo much and couldn't do any of this without him and my Warrior Sisters.
Lovsya, will check back later xxxxx

Hi Ladies,
First of all Benny, there is no such thing as a bad picture of you! We all just love to know that you're getting through the worst of the tx's. Keep posting whenever you can.
Haven't been on for a bit...lack of sleep is really catching up with me and ended up with a massive migraine...the can't take light, noise, etc. type. Better today, but would love to get the license of the truck that ran over me.
Edi, hope the mouth gets better. It likely is the cmf, as I had mouth and eye ulcers for 6 months on my chemo, but that was also 20 years ago. I'm sure you'll come out of it much much sooner.
Lesleyanne..so glad to hear you are starting to feel like you can "head to the hills" soon. I completely understand how important mountain time is.
Like websister, I'm heading up to Canmore in a few weeks. I have a group of REAL friends, we all worked together in hospital years ago. We see each other often but each year for over 20 years have gone away for a girls weekend. They have informed me that we are going in early march, and this year, they are paying my share of the costs. THESE are what friends are meant to be.
63 days and counting to be "alien-free".......can't wait.
Caitlin..you are going to do awesome.
Dakota.....hope you're not buried in snow with no power. I have relatives in NYC, New Hampshire and MA, kinda worried for them. Maybe you'll get a break from the weekend sports mania!
Love to everybody.
-
Jennie - congratulations on finishing chemo!
Dakota - you will be busy with kids sports again this weekend no doubt, take some time for you also
Edi - so sorry to read about the mouth sores and confinement to bathroom, if they continue you might want to check with your MO, you might need something like Nystatin. So sorry to hear about your granddaughter and the bullying, hope things resolve soon and she gets back to loving being just who she was made to be
Caitlin - was it you who asked re: Claritin? I took and do think it helped - I was told to take one hour before Neulasta and then once every day for 7 days after
Nihahi - sorry to hear about your 'friend' and about your migraine. Canmore is beautiful today, you will have such a lovely time here with your real friends
Benny - hugs, glad to see you posting
Keemo - pockets are private this weekend, I will not be being an angel
Take care everyone -
Edi, I feel your pain today! I am also day 4 and the mucositis is kicking in. Throat is swollen and raw, swallowing water hurts, haven't a clue how I'm going to get food down there today, but I sure wish i had your problem with the bathroom. As you probably remember, I get the opposite! Have taken two Colace and hoping for some relief (TMI again). Thrush is not going away, despite Nystatin suspension. Having difficulty breathing but I know now it's just the esophagitis that's irritating my lungs. Oh, how I hate this part. I was reading all about the horsemeat scandal! Oh my goodness! You just cannot trust food producers anymore, it seems. This isn't the first time we've heard about stuff like this.
Keemo, Diamond does the same thing when transitioning to a canter (I ride western, so lope lol). And she has an attitude some days, drops her head low (I mean LOW, she could roll marbles on the ground with her nose) and pins her ears and then I start thinking I'm going to go flying as she's going to buck, but she never has and I doubt she will. She just has an attitude. I only got her September so am just learning her habits now too. They all have vices, just like us haha! I would love to come down and ride with you some day. Would be so much fun. There is nowhere here to ride on a beach (beach? What's that?)
Dakota, you have amazed me through this whole trip how you've soldiered on taking care of your kids so well despite everything you have to go through. You deserve so much better than the DH you've got (when I say DH I mean Dud Husband, not Dear)
YAY Jennie!!!!!!! Picture me standing on a table with cheerleader pom-poms waving them wildly in the air for you at the knowledge that your chemo is done!!!! (This is supposed to be my last too but I know he wants to talk to me about Taxotere so it doesn't really feel like it's my last.) But anyway, yippee! I am so happy for you! It's all going to get better from here on up! Do you have a list of foods that you're going to eat first when it starts to taste better?

I am a bit worried this morning as my Neulasta shot was supposed to be given within 48 hours but the girl who usually does it was sick yesterday so she's coming over this morning to do it, which drags it out to 72 hours. AND, when I brought the Neulasta home from the pharmacy I neglected to stick it in the fridge right away so it was out at room temp for about 2 hours. Hopefully I didn't damage it. Anyone ever had this experience? It would be so nice to avoid a 4th hospitalization.
Okay, I am off to put my EMLA cream on and wait for my Neulasta shot. And with any luck the Colace will do its job, but not when I'm getting the shot LOL
A really bad pic of Di from yesterday. I made it out to the farm but probably shouldn't have as I was so weak. The barn owner had to bring her in for me (I didn't have the strength to hold her, she's pretty excitable), and one of the other girls had to help me groom her. Thank goodness for caring friends. But she got cleaned up and a big juicy organic carrot, so she's good for a few days. Unfortunately this pic is prior to the clean-up. She looks so small here but she's a good 15.2 hands. This horse helped me through chemo. She'll never know how much she's loved and valued.
It will be a quiet day here for me so looking forward to getting caught up on the 10 pages I missed. Will be looking for that cake pic, Edi! And yes, where is Nihahi?
Love to you ALL ♥

-
nihahi, relieved you are back, too quiet without you and the alien
hope you have caught up on sleep now, nothing worse.
Hard to believe cmf has been around so long ! The fact you are still here is very reassuring.
Real friends are a wonderful thing to have, yours sound fantastic.
63 days wow hope you are going to throw the alien off a mountain.dakota, hope things not to bad for you ?
Websister, Couldn't take any more so rang Doc, as it is Saturday they put you through to the local hospital, out of hours.
A gentle kind voice asked what he could do for me and I couldn't tell him for sobbing. Finally gave him all the gory details and he said come straight away and he would see me as an urgent case. ( you can wait hours and hours ) Fifteen minutes later I was in his office, seems I have a nasty infection in my mouth. He took bloods and prescribed strong antibiotics. Gave me a very soothing spray so I can eat and tablets for the burning pipes. If bloods come back with anything bad he will ring me tonight. If no better by tomorrow I am to go straight back and he will see me right away.
Daughter came this afternoon GD ill in bed now with sore throat. Seems the bully also calls GD clever clogs on top of the fat and ugly. She is top of her class and no doubt he resents that, but she goes out of her way to help others. They will get it sorted soon I am sure.
Hope you are having the best of times with your DH.Benny, Di still looks gorgeous.
Sorry you suffering again, hope it eases soon. You really must look after yourself, lots of food and rest. You will be back to full health soon and can spend all the time in the world with her without getting worn out.
Going to make dear DH something to eat as I have had him running around after me all day. Time to spoil him.Love to ALL sisters xxxx
-
Oh Edi, I am SO glad you got some prompt medical attention! That's the scary thing about this mucositis..... if you can't eat, where does that leave you? Must get nutrition in. Those antibiotics will kick in soon enough and you'll be good to go. Big cyber hug and positive energy coming from Calgary to you. ♥
Nihahi posted? Must be my chemo brain and serious lack of sleep
Definitely not at the top of my game today.
-
Oh Edi, so sorry to hear that you are struggling, but glad you went to get help. Hope the medication works quickly. Everybody else with SE's, I hope they go away soon. Don't like it at all when you suffer.
Dakota and Traii, you belong in this club. Don't you try to get away from us now! We need you right here!
Benny, I'm thinking of you too, and hope your mucositis won't be too bad this time. You are a true warrior, and that horse is too cute.
Posted this on another thread too, but have to tell you guys too. Last night when the guests began to arrive for DH's birthday party, everyone was wearing something pink. I was puzzled, but it turned out DH had phoned everybody and asked them to do that in my honor. This party was for him, because I wanted to thank him in this way for his love and support through my cancer ordeal, and I was blown away. Most of the guests brought pink flowers too, and my house looks and smells like a beautiful flower garden this morning. Still can't believe he did that. I did make a little speech however, and embarrassed him by telling him from across the room in front of everybody how much I love him after 34 years of marriage. He never fails to amaze me even after all these years . . .
-
Edi, Benny.....hugs heading your way. Gosh, I wish you didn't have these se's.
Liefie, your husband and friends sound like a treasure, hope the night was special for both of you.
-
Liefie that is a gorgeous thing your DH did for you....how adorable. Am smelling the flowers from here (sniff sniff!!)
Benny, dont stress re Neulasta shot. I wasnt even told to put in fridge the first time round and had it out room temp for over 10 hours so it will be fine.
Hope your SEs go away real quick. My DS saw pic of Di and said 'oh mummy I want to go on that....big horsey neeigh."...lol
Edi, my 'loo' experience is gently stopping today!! I have 3 more days of chemo pills then FREE girl for 2 weeks!!! Whens your next one again? Mines 27th Feb! Cant come quick enough really....want chemo over and done with.
Hope GD feels better soon and tell her Im coming to give that bully a piece of my mind (us Aussies can be very scary....lol) he better be scared!!
Sunday morn here...off to buy some iron on labels for DS kindy uniform that finally came. Grocery shopping after that then friends...REAL friends coming over for what we once called 'sunday arvo food, wine n chat session' lol !!!
Luvyas xxx -
Oh Liefie, that story of the party and the flowers brought tears to my eyes. It reminds me of the Gift of the Magi, because when you were planning a gift for him, he was planning a gift for you. True love! No wonder you two are so in love after 34 years.
Traii, that gives me GREAT relief to know the Neulasta will be fine. Glad to hear the loo experience (we all have a loo experience, don't we? LOL) is shutting down! We're slowly picking away at it here, all of us. THIS TOO SHALL PASS is taped all over my computer room.
Nihahi, thanks for the well wishes. Good to hear from you. We should get together with Websister in the spring when things settle down.
I am really dopey today as I've had to up the codeine dosage (oncologist's order) to 60 mg q4h. It makes a difference! I don't know if I'm coming or going, and still have breakthrough discomfort. But the potatoes are boiling so better get back in the kitchen. I feel like I'm not making a whole lot of sense. Is it codeine or chemo brain? Does chemo brain get worse? Yikes, I miss my mind.
-
Arghhhhhh!!!! Somehow this thread got turned off my favorites. The one day I have had nothing yes u heard it nothing to do. Everything got cancelled. We got 2 1/2 feet of snow. I have been sitting on my coach all day except this morning when I shoveled !!
Edi - I am sorry ur sick
glad u got antibiotics !!!
Benny hand in there girl. Picture is beautiful.
We sister - so sweet!!
I can't believe how much I missed in just one day !!!
Love and hugs to u all !!! -
@Dakota1212, no worries, just scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and there is a link "Add to my favorite topics" you can use to put the thread back on your favorite list. I don't recall for sure but I think once you click on that link you will be able to choose whether to get email alerts or not, when there is a new post on the thread.

Hi everyone, MUCH better this morning
slept for seven hours yay. been up since 5am catching up on laundry before it takes over the house. DH on early shift so want him to come home to clean house, clean clothes and me looking like a new woman. Bet he wishes he had one right now lol.
Benny, you sound more like your old self even if you are spaced out on codeine.
Cyber hug back at ya, thanks I needed that.
You just keep that pain at bay.
Great you are getting nourishment too.I am addicted to thoses Risotto recipes we were talking about a while back. Made an onion, mushroom and pea one recently and it was so easy to cook and eat.
Managed to eat dinner after using spray Dr gave me, antibio kicked in and swollen lip etc going down.Liefie, happy weep reading your post too. What a lovely DH you have.
Nihahi, Have you caught up on that sleep yet ?Hug back at you too.
Traii, 3 more days of those pills too. 26th next one, after this I am dreading it but think the infection made it all so much worse.
Feel free to come anytime and sort out the bully lol.
Late avo there I think, hope your get together was fun.
Get thoses labels on that uniform, hope you got the iron on ones ? I used to spend for ever sewing them on in the olden days.Dakota !! was sooo worried about you.Watching sky news and flippin heck, that is what you call snow.
Won't ever mind having to get my snow shovel out again here.
Hope you are having another couch day, you deserve them.
Curveball, thanks for info re favourites I have also made a note of what you said. Hope you are well.see you all later xx
-
Hi Edi, I'm still awake on this side of the Atlantic. So glad to hear that you slept so well, and that you are feeling better. It is just no fun to feel so miserable. You've really been busy working hard to get the house clean and tidy, and yourself spruced up before DH comes home, but it is nice for them to come home to a cozy house and a beautiful wife after they have worked hard. Makes for a harmonious existence. I also spent the day cleaning up after the party with the help of DH. Must say I was really exhausted last night after the last guests had left after one o' clock - way too much excitement. Tonight we watched The British Beat, a program about British pop groups of the sixties. It was so enjoyable, and at times I got up and danced in front of the TV to those old, well-known songs while DH watched with amusement.
Benny, you're making perfect sense to me. If more codeine does the trick, then so be it - whatever it takes to get you through. Best wishes!
-
Liefie...since when have you joined the night owl brigade? Must be the aftermath of all those oysters???????
Edi, so glad to hear you are feeling better. One of these days I'm going to have to have a go at making a risotto too. Sounds so gourmet, I'm not sure I have the cooking skills, but sure sounds yummy!
Dakota, I guess you didn't lose power, thank goodness. The east coast of the states has really had a whipping lately from the weather!
Traii, how's things in sunny Aus? you're sometimes on at this time too.
-
liefie, sixties music still the best, even my kids love it as they were raised with the Beatles, Stones etc blasting out from DH's record player ( those were the days ) lol.
Thought you might be bit pooped after party but sure it was all worth it for you both.
Sunday is a chilling out day, so even tho I am busyish making sure doing a bit, resting a bit do NOT want to feel as weak as yesterday ever again. You look after yourself and DH today.Nihahi, risotto is the easiest meal ever honest. Google risotto recipes and click on BBC recipes. loads on there.
That is why I recommended them to Benny as easy as making mash if not easier.
Making it for dinner tonight with belly pork, ginger and chinese mushrooms need things with lots of flavour at the moment.
Having fun learning to drink hot drinks without using top lip ! It is infected all the way along inside, but now no problem unless it hits a hot drink Owww. Have cracked how to do it so gallons of good strong tea going down nicely. Need the caffeine. Our news here today is about a four week old baby boy who has been attacked in his bedroom by a FOX ! It bit off one of his fingers poor love, they have managed to re attach it.His Mum heard him scream and saved him in the nick of time, his tiny arm was half way down the animals throat.
Second time in three years, last time was twin babies who also survived.
All this is happening in the London area, not in the countryside. They are looking for food near bins in gardens and are getting in if even if windows very slightly open.
Think there is going to have to be a serious cull before a tiny one is killed. -
OMG- that is horrible about the foxes!!!! Not a good thing at all. I think I'll stick with moose!
So glad to hear you are feeling better, Edi. So hard to keep your spirits up when things really hurt, but you are a trouper, for sure. Somewhere on this site, on one of the general info pages, there is an article about qigong helping ladies having radiation treatment. Have you read it? If I can find it again, I'm going to give it a read.
Tell your beautiful GD that grandma's "sisters" are in her pockets! I think I read once that Kate Middleton was bullied when she was at school too. Guess that makes your GD a princess too!
-
nihahi, thanks will look for that link.
Didn't know that about Kate, will tell GD might give her a bit of hope
Meeting Kate is the best thing that could have ever happened to our handsome Prince. He is so like his Mum in looks and nature too. He needed a girl with no airs and graces and she is a breath of fresh air.
Baby on the way too yay.
Di would have loved this all and in a way was also bullied by the worlds press.
Just cleaned downstairs bathroom, so another tea break, but having a lovely day.
Will also tell her sisters are in her pockets, she was born prem in a bit of a rush and was breech. When they finally gave her poor Mum a section her legs were jammed bent upwards almost to her ears. They thought she might never straighten them and walk properly , intense physio, also carried on at home every day by her Mum has made sure she could stand strong and tall.
No evil little sxd is going to bend her spirit.
Times like this would love Harry Potters cloak that makes you invisible, he would soon learn the error of his ways lol.
Agree on the Moose issue, would at least know if one of THEM was sneaking through the window. -
I can't believe it Edi, we are the same days re chemo
.....so when is it you finish up this CMF?'What going on with your lip? you are having complete different SE's from me..I feel bad now telling you that CMF is a breeze and that it's not like you are on any chemo ! I got chest pains the first cycle, this time I'm getting lower back pains (twitches ) and I can't put it down to the Zoladex I took earlier this month or the CMF.....bugger if I know. Hows your hair going, still growing or slowly falling out again like mine is
Our get together was lots of fun, sat outside on our new outdoor lounge under the verandah and laughed, cried, laughed and laughed a bit more....
I got the Iron on labels.....I'm not a sewing lady by far.....the iron is much easier for me...lol....
Nihahi, what time is it where you are ? Its now 10:20pm here ..... its going to be a very hot one this week.... poor Dakota having all that snow and we are here melting away in this heat....
Foxes story is horrible......how sad. Especially that they are not around the country side like they are here.....they attack other animals on farms here, my uncle has lost lots of sheep and goats to foxes......but in London, in suburbia...thats crazy...
Enjoy your cuppa Edi !
-
Hi ladies.... Doing my usual popping in. Hope Benny and Edi you are feeling better.
Liefie....I cried when I read about you and your husband .....so beautiful...Benny is right
The gift of the Magi.....I tell my students this story every Christmas and I cry then too...
Edi....we are the same age but you put me to shame....yes, I'm still teaching and love it
but when I get home I just want to flop and do nothing!!!! You have so much energy
and the way you also think and care about your husband is amazing. I'm exhausted
just reading everything you do.....please share your secret so my husband can also reap some of the benefits....lol -
traii, don't beat yourself up about the cmf, last time not to bad except ring of fire. Just the mouth infection that reared its ugly head yesterday, knocked me of my crocs literally.
Couldnt put anything near my mouth without bursting into tears, gorgeous Doc sorted me out and was kindness itself. So glad I rang for help
.
Your get together sounds just what you needed, GD is coming later with ED so I will be having a laugh too.
Labels on, good girl I have been known to still be stitching my kids labels on as they were going out the door.
Another hot one, hope not too uncomfy for you all.
This is my second one on 26th. two more then yahoo. Early April finish I think . Then rads, hope all done by May barring any disasters.
Hair still same DH reckons it looks like it is growing but I am not losing anymore,
Sleep well cyber baby girl.Scottiee, Don't forget I don't work anymore. Would be if it wasn't for this. Sure if I was doing what you do DH would be lucky to get beans on toast lol
Spoke before to my old boss, he has lost the pub due to trade being so bad. After 15 years he is gutted but had to get out before he went bankrupt.
Businesses like his are closing in their hundreds every week. Cheaper to stay home and have a drink. -
Edi, thank you, you are very sweet!!.....I'm sorry to hear about all the pubs closing.
Loved going to the pubs at home with my friends....have a few beers and a laugh. It's
not quite the same at home, but I understand how expensive everything is at home now.
I have not been home since my mother passed (6 yrs ago)....had planned to go home last year and also take in some of the Olympic events, but Inhad just finished rads and was too tired physically and emotionally to go. I am seriously thinking about going home this year as I'm sooooo homesick..... I have become so anal when it comes to eating....
everything is organic now...how is it at home regarding organic food....is it readily available and I suppose it's just as expensive as here!!! -
Hi ladies - everything got cancelled today too BUT hockey at 7:00 am!!! That was a feat. DD had two girlfriends sleep over. 4 kids to get up and it the door by 6:15 am. Fun fun!!!
Seems that we are all holding our own !!! So proud of us!!
Traii - I am so jealous there is so much snow here more than I have seen in so long!!
Seems our summers are not as hot anymore. I miss them.
Edi- I am sad for ur area. I loved working in the pub for the ten years I did. Met so many nice people may try it again when the kids are gone.
To all I hope u have a great day !!! Back to work tomorrow --- unless school gets cancelled again
Love and hugs to all !!!
