So very sorry to hear about everybody being diagnosed with bc and other cancers. This disease is just running rampant, and I'm so scared for my daughter and daughter-in-law whose mom had it too. Do not want them to deal with the angst, pain, and mutilation of this cruel disease that takes so much. Big hugs and best wishes to everybody. You will be in my prayers too.
-
To all,
Mucho prayers and blessing to all dealing with this disease. So sorry to hear of the shit that keeps dumping on the heads of all of us. Fuck u cancer, you have met your match.

To all you sisters hearing bad news....what can we say other than we are with you. The word FUCK says it all!

Good Morning Ladies!
There was a break through announce Yesterday about breast cancer research http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2013/02/06/u-of-m-research-identifies-a-cause-of-breast-cancer/
This is why I will continue to try and raise money for research and make sure the organization I am raising for is using these funds to continue to use strictly for cancer research!
I hope in our near future they find a way to prevent and cure these dam disease and the dam FDA stays out of it and does not delay it! -
Oh my! What a night. We seem to be Cancer news magnets. Kind of like when you are pregnant and everyone seems to be pregnant or if you get a new car, you notice all the new cars. There is actually a name for it, I just can't remember it. This is our lives now. Prayers to all that need them including the Researchers who are looking for the cause and a cure!
Stay warm my Sisters on the East Coast! -
Morning Ladies. Stay warm and safe and indoors on the East Coast. You poor guys are getting hammered this year eh?
Hugs to all xxxx

All this fucking makes me think everyone's hailing a taxi in in mid-town Manhattan.
I am pissed that Tazzy's friend has just been diagnosed. Fer crissakes it's a fucking epidemic. It just doesn't stop. Goddammit. Mother fucking cancer, man. I am so very sorry. I hope she can come out the other side free and clear for life.

An odd request:
Has anyone ever compiled a list of our BCO identities and real first names? I sure would like to to do it if it hasn't been done before. Of course it would be wholly voluntary, but a "real"name would be nice to know. I'll keep a spreadsheet and once we have a good amount I'll post.
I'll go first:
Scorchy = Susan

Hey Juneau...about the retreat...is there a way we could pay the deposit directly to the camp? That way you would not have to put out any of your own money or be a book-keeper. I planned a group trip to the Caribbean and that is how I arranged it and it was so much easier. My 2 cents, hope I didn't intrude.
-
I hope everyone in the Northeast stays warm. Sometimes I wish we could get a blizzard down here, but then we wouldn't know how to handle it so it's probably best that we never get that kind of stuff.
Goddamn why does cancer ever have to rear it's ugly head. I remember when I was doing radiation I went in the women's changing room and noticed a familiar face and I called her name and we just looked at each other for a while. I used to work with her, but she had retired and was diagnosed 3 months after I was. Luckily all she needed was the radiation, but it was a surprise to see someone I knew there. I hate cancer...I've always hated it. It took my father away from me.

schatzi14=SUSAN....and we DO HAVE snow and lots of it!
-
It just keeps snowing and snowing. I can't get warm either. The older I get, the more I think southern winters need to be in my plan. I am happy for my snowmobile boots and jacket today! Might not look to cool, but they work!
Hope everyone on the east coast stays warm and safe.

Taking a break from party prep. DH's birthday today. Last year he spent his birthday next to my hospital bed after mastectomy and SNB the previous day. He certainly deserves a party this year. He's been solid as a rock throughout the whole ordeal, and I want to spoil him. Okay. Off to make some more appetizers. East coasters, stay safe, please!

unowhoandwhy; That SUKCS! Good help is SO hard to find ;-) Get some rest.
outdamn; yes I am hoping to arrange it that way and you're not intruding. I haven't gotten to try to call them again yet because I'm just too busy at work. I should have done this before I went back to work!
Scorchy; Great idea, but can I still call you scorchy??
I know a lot of your names from your PMs about the retreat. Anyway - as I think you all know already my given name is Jennifer, last name Juneau - hence the "Jueaubugg".
We are getting slammed with snow here and I'm still at work. Waiting for them to tell us to go home. I'd hate to beat cancer and be taken out by a snow storm (bite my toungue).

Hi everybody....we are sure having a major storm here in Toronto. They closed everything but the Toronto District School Board so I had to brave the weather today and go in. I had a total of 6 students, and everyone else, about the same. Such a waste of time. They let us out half an hour early...big whoopee!!!!!
Jen....hope you can rest and get your husband to take care of you.
Susan....can I still call you Scorchy????
BTW. Scottiee = Christine....
Off to get something warm into my poor aching body and hopefully catch up and post
on the weekend....Stay off the roads please everybody dealing with this storm. -
Hi All, just had my first followup mammo. Freaked out during the wait, but really kind radiologist told me to hang out a half hour and he would give me results today. Got the all clear- it was the first medical test I have passedin who knows how long. I guess the bright side of a mastectomy getting out in half the time. Snowing like a mother in Albany area now, good luck to all in the storm.
Picked my screen name because my last name is the same as a beautiful breed of cows ........ Cowpower - Ann -
Since there are two Jens you can use my last initial... Or just call me by my last name; Juneau. Or whatever....
-
Well I think I will stick with screen names - until in person.
cowpower - my fav happy dance for you :
