Last Dance

When I think
of you and me
growing older together
...it saddens me a little
as I wonder
-- when it will end?
-- How it will end?
And, who will die first?

If it were within my power
I'd have us go at the same time
so there would be
... no lapse in love
...... or in time apart
......... from love --

I don't know, really,
who's the stronger of us
-- and so --
I make or ask no choice
of who or how or when ...

But I romanticize the scene
like that at a High School Prom;
with slow music playing
and pretty colored lights
-- flashing overhead,
turning around and around.

We're all dressed up,
we're beautiful ... and young again
-- out on the dance floor
-- dancing cheek-to-cheek,
smiling at each other
with stars twinkling in our eyes...
so very happy -- so very much in love!

All eyes are on us,
our eyes only on each other,
as we begin to glow and slowly fade
-- while ascending that special
blinding bright white shaft of light --
reaching down to caress us,
lifting our astral bodies upward
... toward the City of Light
and Universal Insight --

drawing us closer to eternal love
......................... and eternal life,
ever in each other's arms,
embracing death's reality:
-- merely a bridge of time -- together ...
while the band plays
the last dance of the evening!

... one o' my many poems ...
Enjoy,
Ty-K

    Thank you, Christine....Thank you, Carrie....

It's not that I need validation--I just hope that what I submit here [poetry] is well-received and not thought stupid entries! I only mean the best & hope my words help soothe, help take your minds to different levels, at least for awhile, rather than annoy or rub anyone the wrong way!

It is my humble, meager way of support, such as it is!

    Thanks again!
