Painn in legs please help

I don't know what it is about this chemo but I had Horrible pain everywhere from my abdomin down to my knees after my first treatment.  The only thing that seemed to help was a lot of Advil, it took 3 or 4 every couple of hours. I was afraid it would do damage to my liver but it was the only thing that seemed to help so I would do this when the pain started a couple of days after treatment. It's been over 4 years since then and I still have leg pain in my right leg. The Oncologist doesn't see any connection but I didn't have this before the treatments. 

zohra, I also experienced horrible pain in my right shin while on Taxotere -- pain so bad that it kept me from sleeping, and I eventually had an MRI to see if they could figure out the source, which they never could.  And I was using Claritin for my Neulasta shots.

The pain didn't entirely go away until several months after I finished chemo, but one thing (in addition to X-strength Tylenol) that relieved it some and helped me sleep better was elevating my leg with a pillow.  It's just a little idea, but it made a big difference when the pain was at its worst.

Nancy, Claritin somehow works to counteract the deep bone throbbing caused by Neulasta.  It's not "standard of care," but definitely a word-of-mouth type of comfort tx shared by many ppl who have had chemo, as well as some onc nurses.  

It's regular Claritin (not the one with D, because you don't need the decongestant in that one), and I found that Target's own brand worked just fine.  Take it a couple of hours before your Neulasta shot, and later that day, and it should ease the bone pain.

Another little trick is to ask for the Neulasta shot in your tummy, rather than your hip.  That can also help the bone pain be less severe.

Zohra, you don't say if it is bone or nerve pain, I was on taxotere chemo, that was nerve pain for me,they treat that with gabapentin. My feet hurt so bad, everything ached. I couldn't touch the zipper on my pants with my fingers as they hurt to touch anything. gabapentin worked like a charm.
