Julie so it's over now--did they tell u anything.?

Kat I'm sorry u'r DH has a headache and I hope it's gone now so u can KACHING a little.  And of course eat.

Sue I'm on Als too and I am a female eunique (sp) so I have nothing left, so I thought it was for bodies not producing any estrgen, but I really have no idea.

Dork this had to be a big day for u'r family, I sure hope and pray it went well and everything was in order for u'r mom and u'r dad will be coming soon so that sounds great.

Well my nonD days have abruptly come to an end--it started today after I ate a banana. Beside taking the meds for it I eat them for the potassium and comes right out.-That was a long spell, of course I hardly ate so I wouldn't have it just loads of vitamins and fluids Oh well

OK it's late and I'll try to go to sleep--Now I'm hungry and have a stomach ache-Isn't that llike an oxy-moron almost. LOL

Wow, 2” is a lot Cami and your DD is tall. Is your other DD tall? One of my step daughters is 6’. Those dang steroids, I imagine there isn’t really much you can do about that. Glad that they will watch Joey’s weight, he is not on any meds, is he? 50 pounds is quite a bit, but I be the “D” had a lot to do with that too?

Good for you Adey, not taking on the hedgehog! What is your fur babies name?

HA…..good luck in finding that solution for those hot flashes Cyn. And if you DO find one, you should become one rich biotch!!!

You SHOULD have wrote “knocked up” for biopsy Cami! LOL

Oh Lara, that was a scare! So glad all is ok with your mom.

Kathy, I hope your DH was able to get rid of that headache. Poor man, to keep getting those, how annoying. And that you continue on that winning streak. What is your game of choice?

Ah yes Sue, better things to do (drink). And we’ll do plenty of that when you get here. I will need to do shopping on the Friday before you get here. Cuz once you are here, weese ain’t goin no where! So I will need to know what we want to eat and drink, k? 8 weeks sounds better than 2 months! Woo hoooo! That would be really nice if you could hook up with Lynda too…………..wowsa!

Julie, you hit that nail on the head. We shirley would have given you grief girl, big time. Gheesh, do you know us or what??? But good for you for losing weight. I haven’t had a Lady’s Day for 15 years, LOVE IT!

Sue, I have that dreaded 20 lbs too, but it is just too damned stubborn, and ain’t going no where.

Cami, doesn’t it upset your tummy, to take all those pills on an empty stomach? And oh snap, that damned D’ria is back. (((((Cami))))) And you remind us a few days in advance of the scopes, cuz we’ll foyget, k? Ha, my DH has morphine pills!

Lori that drink is so pretty, but I bet it packs a wallop.

I missed something along the way--why does u'r DH have morphine pills? He must have lots of pain, cuz they don't just pour them out to u.

All my nieces are shorter than my DD--My Dad always loved tall people so he always enjoyed just seeing Les. And we used to brin Joey to see my Dad and he was about 2 and my dad would gently feel his face and hands and feet--and he's always say Oh he's going o be tall he's gotta grow in to these bi hands and feet like a erman Shepard puppyl My dad compared everything to nature, animals and machines. EVERYTHING

Joey made coffe this morning--he makes it better than my kids do--but I taught him LOL

My husband has a history with kidney stones, had the morphine for that. But his doctor will give him a script for what ever he wants, me too. I have a huge supply of Valium, but it remains huge, as I hardly ever take it. I had gotten them for sleep and hopefully help with the hot flashes at night. NOT. Enjoy your coffee, mine is about gone and I need to get meese EWWA moving.

Good morning, Loungettes! It was a long Friday and a long week, and I'm glad it's Saturday!  Got a whole list of stuff to do today, not sure how much I'll get done.  Spending the day with a friend tomorrow, he needs some support and distraction.  Got a nice ham I'm gonna cook up and make pea soup from the stock, yum!

Goldie--oh well, indeeed, use up the Mucinex and next time you can do the comparison.  My friend made it through yesterday, another friend of ours is spending the day with him today, I'm going over tomorrow.  He'll be OK, eventually, but right now he need support.  Managed to get past the windy weather with the power still on, which is good since it's now in the 20's, it would get uncomfortably chilly in the house.  To offset the idiot landlord, two of the family member of another of my patients cried when I left yesterday because they probably won't see me again.  That patient is likely going to die over the weekend, such a sweet lady, such a loving family.  They are taking such good care of her.  Sometimes I just get attached.

Good morning, Adey, Happy Ground Hog Day!

ORLA--yup, that guy is an idiot.  And now he has a room full of mess to clean up.  His renter died early yesterday morning.  At least he's in a better place now and not suffering.

Cammy--I noticed the wind took the shingles off the dog house in the yard.  Sadie never uses it, so I'll wait to fix it in the spring, or during the next warm snap.  I'm with you regarding discipline.  I just can't stand to count calories or points or anything else for that matter.  I do a lot better ADDING things--like veggie and fruit servings, and making substitutions.  Put a limit on something and I start to crave it, big time.  And everything does turn into being about us, doesn't it?  I do the very same thing.

    Adey--what's your fluff baby's name?

CynCyn--can you PM me Lynda's address, too?  I want to send her a card.   And true, all of us have characters in our family trees.  Warm enough for shirtsleeves means I don't need to wear a coat, jacket, or sweater.  Just the shirt I'm wearing, usually short sleeved.  "Door yard" is part of my vocabulary, alright, as is "door yard consultation."  That's when a family member walks you to your car and you stand in the driveway for 20 minutes having an intense discussion about whatever is on their mind.  Some of my most intense teaching and emotional support is done during door yard consultations.  That landlord is, indeed, a Jack A$$.  I kept my cook by thinking about what he was going to be left with when everything is all over--no renter, and a huge mess to clean up.  You sound like me when it comes to dieting.  I have made some progress by adding things and working on increasing my exercise.  As I see progress it gets easier to make better choices.  I have to set my goal at one pound at a time, too.

ORLA--Wow, what a horrible experience.  I can just imagine the panic you were all feeling.  Glad to hear it's ok!

Wahine-Oh, my sounds like such fun and pretty to see!  Too bad DH has a headache, hope it clears up quickliest!  I'm with you re: Dotty's parents.  I hope there's room for both of them there, so they can be together.  Lots of palces will do that if both spouses qualify, and if her dad can't take care of her mom that may well be the case.

Mema--you are right about the body making estrogen even without the "lady parts" in place.  After menopause, when the ovaries stop making estrogen, an enzyme call aromatase converts fat and cholesterol to estrogen in the fat cells.  The aromatase inhibitors block the aromatase enzyme from working, so no estrogen made, no estrogen to fuel the ER/PR+ beast cells.

Juliet--I hear you about wanting to cancel procedures right up to the time of actually having it done.  I am such a wimp when I'm on the receiving side of health care.  Glad your's went well!

Cammy--how frustrating! I wonder if you are sensitive to potassium--high levels can cause diarrhea.  Weird about being hungry and having a stomach ache. . .

ORLA--any stairs in your house?  One of the best ways to prevent blood clots is to climb stairs, both directions.  That way you won't have to go out in the cold.

Princess Glitter Sizzle's DOTD is The  Where's Lynda?

    1/4 cup fresh blackberries

    2 tablespoons sugar

1/2 cup (4 liquid ounces or just shy of 3 shots) gin

1/4 cup fresh lime juice (from two juicy limes)

    Club soda

2 sprigs sweet basil or 2 thin lime wedges (for garnish)

Purée blackberries and sugar in a blender until as liquefied as possible. Strain purée through a fine-mesh sieve or tea strainer into two tall or collins-style glasses; discard seeds in sieve. Divide gin and lime juice between glasses and stir to combine. Add ice to glasses then top each with soda and a sprig of basil or wedge of lime. (Might need another quick stir to combine.) LOL Julie - u cwack me up.  I knew the body continued to make hormones, thus the AL's for us wif no parts.  But...I did not kno that body fat produced it.  That's for that info...makes me wanna lose this extra fat NOW!  But I am working on it.  Glad the gyno was gentle and the worst is over.  And yes, we wud have made your life miserable if you had postponed and kept all this from us...ya kno how we are...but mostly you kno we love and care about you...so keep us posted Lady!

Cami - I got ur meaning on da 'female eunuch'  haha.  But the AL's are to stop the production of hormones, which as Julie told us, we still produce even if we are female eunuch's.  Damn dat D...I kno magnesium can give you D but not jes 1 banana fer crissake.  And you say your scope is 2-17...dat a Sunday...r u sure?  Mayb hab Joey bring you another cup of his fab joe and you go recheck your calendar K?

Lori - Wowza...dat looks marvelous...and it wud knock me on mese EWWA fer sure!  Glad you are feeling better too.  I cannot do the morphine...gibs me terrible headaches.  I'm with you on the shopping...we can do dat after we meet up on da hiway to da Shady Lady.  I'm sooo fercited!!

Lara - good you hab that card.  My DS told me that I can legally refuse to go thru dat xray machine at the airport.  Said to tell em I get too much radiation with my BC tests...and they can jes 'wand' me.  When I go to AZ...gonna refuse and see how much chaos I can cause...heehee!

Kathy - hope DH's bad head better and you two got some play WIN time in.  Did I see somewhere that you gonna git to stay there on Sunday night too??  Dat wud b cool!

Dorfy - gib your mom big kiss for me K?

All da rest of you goils....have a really good Sat TURD Day.  (jes love dat Lowee) MUAH MUAH MUAH!!

O NM - xcuse me...I was bumping you.  Thanks for the explain on the hormones...I knew it was something like that.  All the more reason for me to try harder to get this fat off and mayb that why doc concerned about the cholesterol?  I didn't kno that part of the estrogen process.  Or, is my AL med blocking it and I shudn't worry so much?  Please tell me the latter K?

I am not walking today...but will try and get my floors done.  We have a water (slow) leak somewhere so DH showed me how to turn the water pressure way down from the main.  We have checked all the above ground pipes...so it must be under the house.  I don't envy whoever is gonna hafta crawl under there to check!  But I can get my mop bucket full enuf for mopping.

OK...dat's nuf...gotta get moving!  Later Taters!!

NM I love how informative u are and u must be very stressed sometimes with u'r job, the emotions and the care u give has to drain u. BTW my potassium is usually on the low side so I take meds, but it has gotten to 2.1 and my magg. has still been low but nowfor being hospitableized--when I've been in ther my pot has been 2. and ,05 (Ithink) as long as I keep my pot hovering around 3 I just need meds and I also take mag.meds and my c level has been like 6.5and I take a script for that and something else in my blood is always low. I was in the hospital getting IV'S for almost 2 weeks, I thought I was having a stroke it mimiced that feeling I was numb on my left side, that when the paramedsc got me and here I was laying on that thing in the truck and I'm telling them what hunks they are--there were 3 of them and all 3 were georgeous WTF, of course I said that too, it was funny cuz they assured my dgtr everything I said was because of my condition and my DD said no she always talkks like that. And I do---- I'm sure I told u all this before, but I don't remember hhahaha

Good morning, again, Loungettes!  Stoping in for a work break.  Got the ham simmering, got the kitchen table cleaned off, got a load of laundry on the line and another in the washer, kitchen almost cleaned up, living room picked up and swept.  Not doing too badly!

Mema--anyone can refuse the x-ray machine at the airport.  I did last time I flew, they put you through a pat down, which is annoying but better than more radiation exposure.  Several people asked me why I "opted out" and I told them I had been exposed to radiation for cancer treatment and didn't want any unregulated, unmeasured exposure.  I got the "its less than the radiation that you'll get on the flight" line a few times, to which I replied that I can't control natural radiation, but I can control man-made radiation, and they ARE different.  Got some people thinking, anyway.  And now I read recently that they are being pulled out of some airports because they are considered "overkill".  Makes me wonder just what part of the whole thing is "overkill."   The whole cholesterol thing is a bunch of hooey, in my opinion.  I'm not convince by the "research" that cholesterol and heart attacks, etc are really related.  But that's my own personal opinion, so don't pay too much attention to it.

Juliet--I'll work on losing some weight, but I will NOT give up my wine!

nm ,i had a cousilor ask if i had ever been advised to give up alcohol and i told her no and for me its a quality of life issue.Laughing.unfortunately working on a cardiac floor, its alittle harder to ignore the whole cholestrol deal but i blame the tamoxifen for my raised lipid profile mind i do blame tamoxifen for everything including the weather! we have to many people who live a healthy heart lifestyle but because of family history they have heart problems starting in their 30's.  for others if they gave up the cocaaine would help! i wonder if the stress too of knowing that the previous generation nobody lived pass 45 because of heart disease how much that plays into their health too!   i have been good today went for a walk so i can eat that burger anfd fries  .cammi- your doc would probably like for you to keep your potassium >4  and your mag >2 for the best heart health.ps could you be allergic to bananas

WOW lots going on here, and such good medical advice! We just get to learn so much, and that is awesome. NOW, remembering it is another story!

Julie, I am glad that Cyn can send you Lynda's address, and I think NM asked her for it too. I never did find my book with everything in it....its around somewhere!

Lara, I am SO funcused....so your TE's are metal? And your dr gave you that note so you don't have to go thru airport xrays, or if you do, they will know about the metal? When they did my core biopsy, they had the metal "marker" in there, and I was worried about getting thru airport security, so my dr wrote a note, but said I wouldn't need it. And when I looked up TE's, they say they are silicone, which I think mine were. SO I am very interested in learing about this....are yours entirely metal, or just part of it, like the port? I found this info, but of course it may be wrong, as everything on the internet is NOT true, and I know that, but it says they are silicone? I don't understand why yours would be metal, unless it is better, since your body rejected the prior implants, maybe this is something different? This is what i found....

    What is a tissue-expander?

A tissue-expander is a device, similar to a water balloon, that is placed in the body so that tissue expansion may be performed. Tissue expanders are made from a silicone compound similar to that used in saline breast implants. The exact size and shape of the expander is determined by the size, shape and nature of the defect requiring reconstruction. The most popular expanders used today for breast reconstruction are the so-called "anatomical" tissue expanders. These expanders are shaped as a tear-drop which simulates the natural drape of the breast. They are designed to inflate more toward their bottom thus providing greater "inferior pole expansion" or greater amounts of tissue where needed toward the bottom of the reconstructed breast.

Julie, Dorkie's dad will not get to NJ till sometime next week, but her mom was moved to the nursing home facility on Friday. SOON they will get to see each other again!!! Yay!

Well,  OF COURSE we had to give money back to the casino...I think my husband called it a "donation". Oh well, win some lose more....   He has horrid headaches every day, right now is napping again before we go back for more drinks, food, gambling. We have gourmet room reservations again, but if they have superb food (free) in the VIP room, then we will just do that. They had yummy shrimp in there last night!! Good thing my DH makes lots of "donations" to the casino (lol) cause we sure wouldn't qualify as vips on my play! Everyone has been so nice to us, makes it fun to be here. I was worried though when I found out my new laptop got delivered yest afternoon, since my DD wouldn't be back to feed the dogs till today, but *whew* she said all my packages were still safely on the porch!

HUgs to ALL! Cami, FOR REAL CAMILLE? That darn horrid "D" came back? That sux. How neat that JOey makes you such good coffee! Is he over being sick, now? hope so!

    Hugs to ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL,

    Kath

Hi goils.  I did like NM did....I accomplished some house cleaning.  Woo HOOO...even used the Shark steamer on my floors.  I no like it.  It takes longers and leaves streaks.  I have 4 pads and change them often.  Since the 1st time I used it left streaks.  I like it in my bathrooms, but not my laminate floors.  But for not walking...I burned 3x da calories...even poured on the sweat, which I rarely do when walking.  So I'm treating myself to a dwinky...who's joining me??

NM - thanks for adding that info on the airports....I'm gonna refuse from now on...they can paw me all dey want...well...within reason...well...unless it is a really hot guy...like da EMTs dat took Cami off dat time.

Lara - good for you using the fitnesspal...it is pretty cool how it works too.  Dat funny bout your mom and Cami telling boys dey cute or handsome...I say why da 'f' not.   My 1st dog after my divorce was a CUJO twin.  Swear!

Cami - Mese tinks u did tail dat story b4 but dat ok...I still get a chuckle outta it.  I don't think it silly to miss Joey...seriously...of course you miss him.  And I am sure he misses you too.  Here...let's hab a dwink hailp us forget who we're missing.  Oh Yea...who am I missing???

Kathy - Is there any explanation for these headaches???  It worries me girl!  And Glenn sounds like me and DH...when we game...and lose...we say 'hey, we made our contribution' and my last paycheck ($50) I spent there...dh says 'u a good employee, gib dem back der money'.....heheheeee.
