I'm sorry Fl!! Sending you positive vibes and thoughts to get through this until something better comes!! Ugh I hate it that you have to go through this after everything else
-
Happy monday fellow hermits- tired monday for me, low energy today, but got through a number of things I had to do including getting to the client site. I just had no steam today, I know many of you know how that feels. I hope tomorrow is a better day energy wise, kind of never know what to expect these days! I have more good days than bad though, which I am grateful for. Gping to bed early tonight!
FL Warrior- sorry to hear the job is not good. I do hope you can find something better. I am finding it much the same on my new client project, but I am grateful to have the work and they are flexible with letting me work remote periodically when I need to. I wonder if there are any good places to work anymore, but want to believe so!
Hoping everyone else is having a good or at least tolerable start to the week! Sending you all healing vibes!
-
Fl--it IS quiet. hmm. The calm before the storm? I hope not. We all need a little peace. and no sharp objects near you!
You need those eyes to keep twinkling! I'm like markat--sending good vibes your way. (((( )))) Hoping the job market opens up a little for the perfect spot for you--complete with insurance and great people to work with. and soon.
Be well, hermits all.
-
Thanks Market and Jazzy. The stress and dread of the whole situation is causing me to have physical pain....
I would really like to get a good relax massage, but I am scared to. Has anyone gotten a massage after surgery/snb? I have some cording and feel like I am on the edge of lymphedema and I definitely don't want to do anything to push it over the edge.
-
Thanks Skittle! The perfect spot for me with insurance...ahhh that sounds great!!! I hope for that as well!
-
I haven't had any massages. My side/arm and hand has been bothering me. Not sure if the hand is neuropathy or carpul tunnel (sp?).
-
Hi all. Its very early morning here, but iv been asleep practically non stop for 48 hours so that's ok. Just wanted to pop on and say I'm feeling much better. Problems haven't magically disappeared but they don't seem so overwhelming. Hoping I'm past the worse of it. Also hoping that all you special ladies are doing ok, if not fabulously. Xx
-
GMO's UGH!
Just curious how my fellow hermits re-entered the world of non-hermits?
-
Cleomoon u don't sound familiar to me--bit I do know it's not easy for some people and have to be puched, as far as working they really have to and push more and I really ie them credit, but most of us just want alone time more so than before and it takes a while to get around to be around people-for the most part we just rather stay home. But others will come on that have moved forward and tell u how they did it.
Shambles I know u needed the sleep, but did u get to the Dr. like u said u were going to do? I hope so.
FLI feel so bad for u doing something u hate. Do u have Craigs list there--they always have different jobs on the list or ask people u know if they've heard of anything new. I know u can do a lot on the computer, then u can check if it's reputable before u send in anything-alot ask for resume's before and FL might have more lists created to try the computer and see if u can get anything that way. It's super hard to get a dcent job around here too and they pay low cuz they can get away with it now and even if they are making money, now I'm a rant cuz everything is still so screwed up.

Hi Camillegal,
I have been away from the boards for a while. But I am just now coming back to try to get support.
-
I must confess I couldn't get an appointment till tomorrow so no, not yet. Hoewever am going out to lunch today to my fav chinese restaurant so all is good xx
-
OK cleo welcome back--not really it's not fun being here, but here we are.
OK shambles tommorow is Wednesday so don't miss the app't and I like Chinese so get something good and enjoy u'r day.
-
FLwarrior - sending good vibes your way. Hope this week is better for you. Wishing you a bright spot of a better job with benefits soon.
Shambles .. glad to here you are taking care of yourself.
Cleo .. some of us introverted to start with ... others just need down time. Most of us do get out and interact in the world, have friends, work, etc. , but just find we need more quiet time now. We just like to do it on our own terms. This thread is just a safe non-judgemental place, unlike a few other threads on this board, to just connect, find support, vent, etc. about BC, our lives, whatever.
-
Thought I would share my laugh for the day. So I google looking for mastectomy bras and I see a site selling forms and bras ... so I click on it ... they are selling stuff for people who want to dress in drag! .... too funny .... Just thought I would share.
-
Popping in to say hi to my fav hermits! I haven't caught up on the thread but I hope all are doing well.
Finished rads, skin held up ok so that is a positive. It is still 'raining' here, will check in when the clouds clear
Take care
-
Oh Whaevah thank you for checking in! I'm sorry for the rain
I hope the rainbow shows up soon (for a lack of a better cheesy cliche). Thinking about you and sending you big ugly watermelon-head hugs!
Bgirl, that's too funny! -
FL & markat... i did a little research on massage when recent pain issues flared up (i'm not one for massages, but ya do what ya gotta do...) Info I found said try to find a therapist who is familiar with bc issues (lymphedema, deep tissue issues, etc)... I never went. (not only hermit, but coward here.) Best wishes to the both of you if you go.
Shambles--what's your favorite on the menu? spicy? salty? Enjoy! and good luck with appt.
Camille--hope you're feeling better.
bgirl-- love your way of putting it. Just need some down time. (I guess the drag seekers are looking for up time?) eeg. cheesy.
whaevah--sending you a virtual umbrella. Hugs to you. Yay--no more rads!
cleomoon--as has been said, we're in all states of hermiting. Jobs, family, friends, all in varied stages... Hope you are well in your transitions.

Is there anyone around? I didn't make my doc appt as something major happened last night and I'm in the process of moving my other half out. Well will be in a cpl of hours. Had to get police involved etc. Not pretty. Anyway,I know I can type anything here, though do feel guilty that I may be bringing ppl down and I apologise if that's the case I really don't mean to. I hope everyone is ok and have peace in at least one way or another. Love to all xx
-
Oh and skittles,i love anything spicy, I'm a chilli addict. I even eat bird eye thai chillies raw! Lunch was yum, singapore noodles with prawns. Thankyou guys xx
-
Shambes I'm sorry ir was so dificult with the police there, but remake u'r app't/
Jane and u didn't buy anything--they dress the best---
Whaevah---YYYAAAYYY it's done.
I'm feeling OK I'm just waking up with no coffee yet--I came here first after I peed. So Good Morning all.
-
Shambles take care of yourself.
Camille, lol!
I'm on my way out the door for work. Dragging today! -
Wish I could pee before I think! Ha
-
@shambles if your other half is creating a situation where you feel you need police protection, I think you're absolutely right to get him out of the house. As if cancer wasn't bad enough!
-
I know curveball and he`s gone now but feel so sad cos we had good times and everywhere I look there he is. I`ll heal I'm sure
-
@shambles, I hope when you say "everywhere I look there he is" you don't mean your ex is stalking you! Stay safe and don't hesitate to call the police again if he really is following you around. (((cyberhug)))
-
Curve he actually is but I can't call the cops cos they got totally pissed with me last time and I don't wanna get arrested myself? They accused me of time wasting and made me feel like crap. Think things are different here in the uk to there as we have to pay via taxes? God I don't know but calling the cops here is a last resort and that's why I did it but I still feel guilty. Wish someone would just come and ram my head into a wall and make it work properly again cos I'm so not getting ”me” anymore..
-
@shambles, we have to pay for police via taxes here in the US too! But I'm sure the laws here are different than in the UK. Can you really be arrested for complaining about somebody stalking and harassing you?! In many places in the US, stalking is illegal. IMO, if the cops made you feel like you were wasting their time, they need some re-education. I've never been stalked, but it must be unpleasant and frightening, and can escalate and become a danger to the stalker's target. Do you have a friend or relative out of town you can stay with for a time or someone who can stay with you? I don't know what your legal options are on this, but maybe it's time to check them out.
Oh and by the way, your head does not need to be rammed into a wall, it's working just fine. If you are finding your thoughts confusing or troubling, it sounds totally appropriate to me, you are in a confusing and troubling situation that's enough to get anyone's brain buzzing. ((hug))
-
Lots going on. Shambles, be safe. You are NOT over-reacting or bringing anyone here down. You do what's best for you w/no apologies. Sounds like you're being a strong woman. It takes guts to boot a guy out. Good for you to take some control. Do what feels safe and best for you. Keep the spicy on the plate, and out of the emotional landscape for a while. hugs to you...
markat... hope you can sleep tonight. I had a dragging morning, too. Had a classroom observation by an admin, and am positive I did not "shine." sigh
camille, curve, bgirl, Jazzy and all... hoping you had good days and will have restful nights. peace to each in health and home.
-
I'm really on late tonite--the hrs went by fat today and I don't know why. But I just took my meds so hopefully they'll kick in soon so I'll just say nite and hope everyone has a good day for Thursday.
-
Hi fellow hermits:
Just catching up on your posts on this early thursday morning. I have not been sleeping well this week, but last night, I went down at 7 p.m. and awoke at 4 a.m. I decided I don't care what hours I sleep anymore, as long as I can feel as well rested in the morning when I wake up!
Whaevah-congrats on finishing your rad treatments! Must be a good feeling. I go for my second internal rad treatment again in a few more weeks.
FLWarrior- I think massage can help depending on where you are in your treatment process. My massage therapist and I talked about me stopping massage until I was through the treatments that remove the residual through radiation. There is a thought that massage stimulates things to move in the body. You may want to talk to your doctor about whether the time is right to seek out this lovely form of complementary therapy. I hope to be going back soon when I get on the other side of my final rad treatment and can get a clearance from my local MO.
Cami- hope you are doing well today.
Shambles- I am with the others on this post, be safe and be sure to get yourself in for care soon. You are welcome to share here as it is a safe place.
Markat- I am with you on my butt dragging to work a few days this week. My last day on site with the client today, not going in tomorrow and have lunch planned with a friend tomorrow I have not seen in a few months but who has been there for me over and over again.
Wishing all the rest of you a good remainder of the week. This gal is livin' for the weekend!
