What is normal waiting time..
I had a Ct Scan of Sinuses and Chest, high resolution, no contrast, yesterday. Dr. said get the Scan and will see me back in her office. That is not until Monday Feb 4th. If the results showed something bad, would the Dr. call me with results or wait to tell me on the 4th? Thank you and prayers to all.

westies - I just had a PET in Dec. and did not have a follow-up with my MO for a number of days. One of the nurses was nice enough to call me to let me know that the scan was normal as soon as the doc was notified that the report was in electronically and had signed off on it. I was very relieved and thought it was so kind. Maybe call the office and ask?

Thank you SpecialK. I am hoping they call me. I am, deep down, afraid to call them for fear the news will not be what I want to hear. thank you for your thoughts.
Prayers.

westies - I certainly am hoping for the best for you - I will keep my fingers crossed!

I am going to wait until my appt with the Dr on Monday Feb 4th for the results. will post if I hear something sooner, but I am thinking it will be on Monday. My Leukemia in 1981 was easier to deal with than this nasty, sneaky, Breast Cancer. Ugh!
-
I also had leukemia, and have secondary MDS treated with occasional chemo and transfusions. I agree that blood cancers are much easier to deal with...the blood count usually reveals it all, and if not, a bone marrow biopsy and you know where you stand. The ability of breast cancer to go anywhere and hide out is so much more difficult to deal with. Hang in there!

Laural, when were you dx with leukemia? Was it AML? Mine was AML, chemo, then more chemo and total body radiation, then the Bone Marrow Transplant, 1981.

I had ALL in 1986, with methotrexate, vincristine, and cytoxan cocktail initially, then maintenance methotrexate. They feel the methotrexate led to the secondary Myelodysplastic Syndrome for which I have had several different chemos over the years. I was diagnosed with IDC in 2011, and after BMX, found that I had ILC as well in the "healthy" breast. Glad I made decision to go with a bilateral. Right now, all is quiet on the cancer front and I am enjoying good health.
