I don't know why, but please take deep breathes and unless it is really heavy bleeding, you proably wont bleed to death. Im sorry somebody smarter than me hasnt responded yet. Does the place you are being treated have an on call triage center that can answer your questions? You can always call your doctor and leave a message. If it was life threatening, I am sure she/he would call you back. I understand how easy it is to be scared about all these freaky farking "special effects" from treatments. hate em.

My mom had similar symptoms. It turned out that she had a prolapsed uterus. And Aromasin does not cause endometrial cancer if this is what you are worrying about. Only SERM'S (selective estrogen receptor modulators) such as Tamoxifen have been known to cause EM cancer and not AI's like aromasin.

Sharon, so sorry you are freaking out. I would be too. But there are lots of not worst-case scenarios. Just as examples: I had a small amount of bleeding from atrophic vaginitis (gotta love that, being "atrophic" at age 46), and my mom, decades post-menopausal, had a lot of bleeding from a benign uterine polyp. Unless you're bleeding so heavily the blood loss itself is going to hurt you, it's really, really, really unlikely to be any fast-moving process that will be different tomorrow when you call your doctor, or next week, or the week after, than it is today. I hope you get some sleep tonight.

I had some vaginal bleeding several years post menopause. It was not a menstrual period, but when it first happened, I wasn't sure what it was. I was post BC at the time and on Arimidex, but it actually had nothing to do with either the illness or the AI. It turned out to be a vaginal tear. Must have nicked it with my fingernail when I wiped, but it had me going for a while.

I had a similuar situation. Went to the bathroom and had bleeding. I am 61. Had a hysterctomy so shouldn't have any bleeding. Turned out to be from dryness and also they found a bladder infection. Lots of things can cause the bleeding so relax until the doctor can find the problem.

Sharon, this is Sharon....I'm sad and sorry to hear you are scared. Big hug to you from California. You know after I started taking my tamoxifen, my period shifted by one week. Im sure more changes will happen. I've been taking Tamoxifen from about October. Now I am pre-menopausel, but it still bothered me. Doctor said it was definitely the tamoxifen. Changes will happen, that don't necessarily mean anything to be concerned about. Please let us know how you are doing when you can. I am sending prayers and hugs your way.

Hello everyone,
I am a little calmer now. I am having an ultrasound tomorrow and a paracentesis on Friday. Will keep you updated.
Thank you all
Love and Blessings

Hello Ladies,
Stupid me, just had a case of vaginitis. Why did I jump to conclusions?
-
Because we all go to that Dark Place, sweetie, after what we've all been through.

SO happy to hear it's nothing serious! It's totally normal for you to worry, don't beat yourself up. We don't know how to trust our bodies anymore. Just happy to hear the good news!
Sharon
