CJRT, I am so sorry you have to wait to find out,but sounds like you have a good MO who wants to have it checked out good! i'll keep you in my prayers, hopefully we'll both get good news when it's all said and done! Don't you dare feel like a downer posting what is going on. All of us are here to support each other thru good times and bad, that's what good friends are for,I consider all of you good friends even tho we haven't met!!!

CCJJ, thanks for the info, from what i have read lobular cancer is sneaky as someone else put it. Did you have a single or double masectomy?

Belleeast... I did go ahead and have a double mastectomy. Due to the the fact that it was lobular and I was so disgusted that it didn't show up on on mammogram at the age of 43 I couldn't imagine spending more years having mammograms fail me. Plus, when my MRI showed suspicious spots in my non cancerous breast, I was like get rid of them. Sometimes I do wonder if a double was a little extreme, but my breast surgeon along with another opinion, both female, said if them, they would do a double mastectomy. I'm overall happy I did it, but sometimes feel it was a bit much and am looking at another recon surgery. However, the thought of no more mammograms is very appealing. Plus, I avoided radiation by having the mastectomy. I'm personally against radiation at this point. I had a chest X-ray for a bad case of bronchitis the year before I was dx w/breast cancer. I no longer even let my dentist do routine dental xrays . I know it's probably silly, but I think radiation exposure helps cancer grow. I will use it sparingly going forward to diagnose issues and am happy to be done with mammograms. Good luck. It's so sad this is our new normal, but really hoping you have good news!

thanks,CCJJ, from what i've read about lobular i think you made the right choice! everything says it will show up in the other breast eventually. plus with it not showing up in mammograms by the time it is found it could already be in the nodes as you know!

I am hoping, too. my concern is the interval nipple retraction. I guess my thought process right now is hope for the best expect the worst! if it is back,i will get a double masectomy,i don't want to go thru this again.

    Hello my friends!

CJRT:  Please don't feel like a "downer"!  We're here for you any time you need us.  I am sending lots of prayers and big hugs your way.  I am so sorry you are having to go through this again.  I am hoping you get good news Monday and things are not really bad at all.  No matter what, we've got your back!

Belleast:  I am so sorry that you are having problems too.  Just really pisses me off!  Just when things are getting back to the new normal, wham!  Seems like we will forever be looking over our shoulder.

Saw my onc Tuesday.  He came waltzing in, gave me my hug and sat down to look over the tests.  After a few seconds he turns around and says, "Well, you passed all your tests!" and tosses the reports to me!  WooHoo!  Still dancing with NED.

Although it's good news for me, my heart is heavy for my sisters that are going through testing again.  I hate CANCER!  It sucks!  And I think I would do about anything in this world to get rid of it once and for all!

Well, that's all for tonight.  I will check in again soon.  Those grandbabies are keeping this Mamaw busy!

    Love and Hugs!

    RJ

Yay RJ!!  Hi Belle, life is treating me well, thanks:)  I find that I still need to check in here at BC.org because I am still processing how to try to move on, but I am cool taking as much time as I need with that. Sorry to hear you are still in the waiting mode:(

Wonderful news, RJ!! So happy for you. :)

My oncologist just called and said I need a biopsy of the bone lesion. Not bad news. Just not good news yet. Still praying it is benign. Also had one lymph node light up which I am scared about but oncologist didn't seem alarmed. The rest of the scan looked great!

Thank you for all the prayers and well wishes. I cannot thank you ladies enough.

    Hi CJRT,

I hope that you have answers soon.  Are they able to get you in quickly for the biopsy or will you have to wait?

Good luck Friday, Belle! You are right about the biopsy. My sister (a family physician) said the same thing as you - that if they said it was fine and didn't need one, I would probably second guess that into the future and always have nagging doubts.

Cooka- The biopsy is scheduled for Thursday, and it is supposed to be a needle biopsy so apparently I don't need general anesthesia.

To lighten the mood a little, here are pics of my two little ones. They are growing up so fast! My youngest was only 7 weeks when I was diagnosed. Praying that I have many more healthy years to watch them grow. :)

thanks, everyone! your thoughts and prayers mean so much to me. had the biopsy this afternoon but don't think i will be getting the results for about 48 hours. apparently, they are only about 80% accurate, so I was told it is only one piece of the puzzle. we will see... praying for a benign explanation. will be praying for you tomorrow, belle. hugs!

belle- it hurt but not bad. they gave me 6 shots of lidocaine or something like that. that part hurts a little (he likened it to novacaine for cavities). the actual biopsy only hurt at the deepest for a few seconds. otherwise it was just weird pressure. no where near as stressful as i thought the process would be. they use a CT to guide it. thanks for your prayers. hoping tomorrow goes quickly and easily and you get good results ASAP.

biopsy done, will get results tues or wed! more waiting!

area is right under nipple,dr warned me the numbing shots would be painful because nipple area is so sensitive! they went in from the side of the breast not thru nipple! well, let me tell you she was not kidding, I was saying to myself-jesus h christ,G*d d*mn! my feet were curling-my eyes closed. the first three were terrible!! after the second one i watched it was when it went thru directly under the nipple-the pain was terrible! after the numbness took effect it didn't hurt at all! she took 4 or 5 samples!

numbness wore off and it hurts worse than first biopsy,i guess because of area. took some tylenol, have my icepack in freezer!

cjrt, hope you find out soon your results-prayers they are good!!

unfortunately it is not good news. i do have stray cells in that bone. i am just so upset i can't put it into words. i know you know the fear and sadness i am feeling. i can't imagine not being here for my kids. my doctor remained positive though in that we have various options because of my estrogren and her2 status gives us treatment options. the 1st step is to make sure the bone is stable so i have to see a orthopedic specialist. thank you all for your support and prayers. i am sure that after my little pity party, i will be thinking more clearly.

oh,CJRT,g*d d*mn it!!! i am so sorry, this just isn't right, you were stage 2,grade 2,node neg! this crap is just so scary!!! check out the bone mets thread-there are women on it who have mets for years and years-a lot are NED,so don't be counting yourself out for a long, long time!!!!

i can imagine what you are feeling-scared,p*issed,devestated,numb!! anytime you need to vent, express your fears-whatever-we are here for you!

the main thing is to get your bone stabilized, with med-i think you'll take something to strenghten & rebuild bone, radiation probably to zap them buggers!!

CJRT,meant to ask about the node that "lit" up?

I know you don't have a treatment plan, yet. but is dr concerned now about that, will they do anything about it surgery or chemo, again?

Just, thought i'd put it out there as a reminder for you to ask about! HUGS!!
