Cancer found in ovaries after hysterectomy and oophorectomy

Hello all...Wanting to see what help or information any of you can give me.

Initially diagnosed with stage 3c idc on left breast.  I had a radical mastectomy and 10/16 positive nodes.  I did chemotherapy and 36 rounds of radiation.  The doctors felt it best for me to have an oophorecotomy rather than take Tamoxifen, due to a blood clotting disorder I have.  I am also BRCA negative.

Last week I had a complete hysterectomy and oophorectomy.  My doctor came to my house 2 days later to talk to my husband and me.  Cancer was found in my ovaries.  We don't know yet if my breast cancer metastisized or if this is a completely new cancer. 

I've been trying to research and find any information I can on this happening, but I haven't been able to find much.  Can any of you help out?  Any information or suggestions are appreciated.

    I don't have any expertise to give you but wanted to say hello and I am so sorry you are in this rotten situation.



    My initial ct scans way back in 2009 showed shadows in the ovaries that needed further investigation. This was NOT the same as your experience because mine has so far shown to be something benign and not cancer, but at the time I could not work out whether it would be better to be metastasised breast or primary ovarian. I know I felt that, if it were the latter, I was incredibly lucky to have found it so early because ovarian is rarely identified before major symptoms appear, and mine was found almost accidentally.



    I guess we all try to find the positives in everything.

    Hello !  I hope all is well with you.  I was just diagnosed with metastasis breast cancer in my ovaries.  I am also having a very hard time finding any info about this particular situation.  Did you ever find anything useful?

    Hello Tracy, I am sorry I don't have any answers for you, but I wanted to say hello and welcome you here. This is a great place to find information and support from others, who have been through similar diagnosis.

    This is an old thread and I am not sure if the original poster is still posting. If you search for other threads about the subject you will likely find others who can help.
