Miracles happen ALL the time
I have a new granddaughter, born Dec 28. She's a beautiful miracle baby, as is her mommy.
Her mom, (my daughter) was diagnose with a rare germ cell cancer, 2. 5years ago. Had her ovary removed, went through very aggressive treatments, critical three times, had two strokes. Ya. Really.
My daughter healed and is healthy and this amazing woman just gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby.
Her pregnancy was considered high risk but all went well. And by the way, my daughter got pregnant right after my diagnosis of breast cancer. We thought that was a miracle, too -Absolutely baby on the way constantly fed my soul and lifted all of our spirits.
There's my love story for today. And a story I hope reminds all of us that miracles happen ALL the time.

Congrats Grandma and best wishes to you and your daughter and grandchild! Enjoy! Life is not all about cancer and sometimes a new baby (whether it is a human or has fur) can remind us that there is so much more to life! Congratulations!!!

Feelingthemagic, just over a year has gone by since your granddaughter's arrival, and your wonderful news. It must have been a very special first birthday, for everyone.

Congratulations on your grandbaby and thank you for this story. I needed to read this today. We had to give our decision this morning after two weeks of going back and forth on whether or not we wanted to move forward with egg retrieval and subsequent freezing of eggs or embryos. It is absolutely the hardest decision we have ever had to make in our lives (especially for me). We are blessed with a beautiful, smart, and loving 2 1/2 year old. We decided that at this moment in time, we have to do everything possible to make sure that I am here for her and my husband and make sure this cancer doesn't come back. Without 100% assurance that the fertility drugs won't cause any issue to any remaining cancer cells or cause an issue with recurrence, we just couldn't take that chance.
I was also told that my current ovarian reserves are very low (based on bloodwork & an ultrasound), so my chances of having another child after chemo are very slim to none. But I will continue to pray that we may also be blessed with a miracle baby one day.
Thank you again for this message of hope...

Maggymaylou, my heart goes out to you as you make decisions nobody should ever have to make, and as you go into treatment. My daughter also considered the option to retrieve eggs, and made the same decision as you... mostly because she was being pressured to start the chemo, and the time it was going to take to have the retrieval process done was concerning. And now, she has this most amazing one year old, whom we all love and adore. I wish you the same success story. ~smile~ (Except feel free to skip the part of the story where her treatments were so hard.. wishing you treatments with as few side effects as possible)

Magic if we believe, will happen, just let the Universe open up to you

An update: Baby will be two at the end of December, and her sibling is expected to arrive on Christmas Day! Yes, my daughter is pregnant with her second child. We are blessed.
Maggiemaylou, if you see this, I'd love to hear how you are doing. Sending you loving healing thoughts. -
Sweet!

Congratulations. How are the babies doing?

I love that miracles happen...I need a miracle. I believe, and work on my belief like Jesus said we should. My breast cancer has come back for the 3rd time, and this time has metastasized. I have a 10 month old grand baby that also is my soul! My gift from God.
thank you.

Hi singsong- I had to post again to your post- I replied to your esophageal issue..
We have much in common as this is my 3rd recurrence as well; I have a grandson 15 months old who lights up my life, and I love and depend upon Jesus Christ as my God and king. I live in the northeast of the USA. I can now add you to my list to pray for strength for whatever is to come, and trust and serenity in that
