Employer pressuring me back to work

Options

I did the fmla letter for 4-6 weeks.  The dr letter said i would be out 4 weeks.  Had infection, complicated things a bit.

I'm on week 5 of my leave and start rads tomorrow. I wasn't expecting an email stating they want another dr

letter faxed asap, knowing when i can return to work, full or part time and for how long.  I will get another letter from my dr, but this email was disturbing because i had talked to my boss last week and told her when i'm coming back, etc..  Now she's acting like we never talked?  What the hell?

FMLA rules require that if your previously certified time period is expiring you have to re-certify and your physician must document what the status of your work ability going forward.  I believe that your employer must be able to document that they have contacted you regarding your need to have your physician re-certify you for continued leave. It is likely that even though your boss understands your need to continue FMLA because you have discussed it, this email is the official request for your recertification.

How awful that must feel. Employers don't seem very warm or fuzzy, when it gets right down to it, and I've been there before, for back injury, not cancer. It still hurt my feelings, the employer seeming to care only about their own needs, not my suffering.

My doctor encouraged me taking all the FMLA time off. She said its easier to go back early than to extend it longer. And every state is different.
