Kkuziel living better through chemistry as you put it is only a temporary thing. Right now, when you are going through the first stages of this journey, it really is important to try to do it calmly and if that means some added chemicals (for now) then it's not a bad thing. Being able to have a calm logical conversation with your partner is very important as well as we have a tendency to forget that they are as shocked as we are and also need to know what's happening.

You're right Chrissy. Took one of my 0.25 mg Xanax and cut it in half. Took it and was able to eat, carry on conversation, actually relax. Just woke up from a couch nap and can feel the anxiety creeping back due to 12 hours for the medication to leave system. I'm hoping once I finally have my lumpectomy, which for me will answer many of the big questions about my fear that these delays will have killed me (even though it I'll still be less than four weeks from diagnosis to surgery) that I'll be better able to deal with the next part. I certainly hope so. I have to keep replaying the surgeons words that I have time. That these things don't spread that quickly. He's the expert, I guess I'd be wise to listen.

Kkuziel even the most aggressive cancer is not going to kill you in four weeks.......honestly..........listening to your doc is a good thing but also educating yourself can also be a great help. Keep taking your Xanax so you can feel calmer and try to stay busy enough to keep your mind from going to the dark places. Try also to educate yourself so you know what to ask about with you doc when you get your final path report. The main part of this site has some really good information that will allow you to form pertinent questions for your doc.

4th chemo on Wednesday then another 2 to go I can't wait, I was wondering how others dealt with hair loss I feel like I'm sinking I won't go out because I don't want wear my wig or hat but sat home is turning me into a recluse not even wanting visitors or speak on a phone just can't seem see past it any help will be appreciated x
-
I hated my wig, Daldred, but loved the baseball cap my daughter got me. Once you go out once or twice, you will be fine. Everyone will not stare. They barely noticed me. I think a scarf is a bit more telling, so I opted for the ball cap. They have ball caps now with fake hair sewn on the edges. Or you can wear a ball cap over your wig, and since it is winter, you could wear a cute knit cap or something over the wig, too. Honestly, I got very few looks, even in a bandana. You will be more self conscious than anyone. You just have to try it a couple of times and you will see. You can also use it as a "badge of courage" and tell yourself and others "yes, I'm having chemo right now". I think once you admit it to yourself, it is easier to accept it and move on. I know it is tough. XOXO

Thanks, once I'm out it's more me ,I think, then odd times I forget I'm wearing a wig for a small amout of time.

It will get easier. Hugs.

Oh Daldred I am so sorry about the loss of your Aunt, my condolences to you and your family.
Rads will make you feel tired and a bit low so be gentle with yourself.........I know its a long road and it seems to never end but you are getting there, you are almost done.
I'm doing well at the moment, thank you for asking. I'm busy preparing and doing a whole heap of craft for my DD's wedding which will be at the end of September.
Love n hugs. Chrissy

it's been awhile since I've been online, I've really struggled with low days, went back to work but my legs were too weak so I had to finish ( basically I feel Work had ran out of patience and empathy).
I get a lot of cramp sensation around my breast bone around to my back, even after 2yrs clear.
At the moment I'm worried!!!!' The other day a had yellow discharge from my opposite nipple when pressure was applied, I can't feel any lumps but I'm worried sick, made all relevant calls and I'm at the stage were my surgeon is gonna see me routine which I'm due October for yearly mammogram.
I've recently changed anti depressants to venalic xl so was wondering if that could be the reason because Alps since then my periods are delayed more than usual.
