Juicing Recipes?
Okay my best friend gave me a juicer and a bunch of groceries and I haven't found a tasty recipe yet. I love veggies (except beets). I don't much care for a tomato base V8 flavor.
Any good recipes out there you are willing to share? Thanks!

Plain carrott juice is good, you can addcelery and or apple to the mix, add some or all of the pulp back. You want thatfiber. Parsley or cilantro are also great

I've been following Kris Carr's suggestion to drink green juice daily but I can't afford a juicer or even a food processor. Instead, I make a green smoothie with coconut milk yogurt (plain, 1 c.), a splash of mega-green by Simply Nutritious, a cup of frozen blueberries and a handful of baby kale, add water for consistency. Liquify in a blender. Really, really good and keeps me going from mid-morning when I eat breakfast till mid-afternoon.

As per Kris Carr:
handful of Kale, handful romaine, 1 cucumber, 1 lemon, 1 green apple, thumbnail sz. piece of ginger, 3-4 celery stalks.
Drink morning, afternoon. Really tasty. Recipe designed to put body in balance, as I understand.
Her book is great for other ideas too. -
Hi Claireinaz,
Try your local Goodwill or Thrift store. My husband says there are tons of juicers for sale there from the non-dedicated (LOL).
It was really nice of my BF to get me one. I was going to get one at the Goodwill. Thanks for the recipe.

Thanks Shadytrake!

I wonder why they include cucumbers and celery because I dont think they're very nutrient dense. Maybe for the diuretic effect. Does anyone know?

I live upstairs from a juice bar, I drink Kale, ginger, lemon, cucumber, and a little apple. I have tried it without the apple to cut calories and carbs, but it needs it.
There is another place nearby that does a kale, coconut, and banana that I wlll try as a treat.

I tried the carrot one here last night and it was ok, but I didn't like the celery. I did add back some pulp and I liked that.
I'm going to look for one that has pineapple. I love pineapple.
If you find good ones, keep posting! -

I have a Breville juicer. I think they add celery and cucumbers to juices because they add a great flavor (especially the celery, a little bit of saltiness or "tang" and the cucumber can cool down some stronger flavors). Probably my very favorite is beets and pineapple! I have an orange and a grapefruit tree so have done lots of good ones with carrots and citrus too. My favorite juicing book is "The Big Book of Juices" by Natalie Savona. I like it becuse it has combinations that I wouldn't ever think about making, has beautiful pictures of nearly every juice, and she thought up wonderful names for the juices! Nere's some of the names - Bleeding Grapefruit, Pink Orchard Berry Buster, Thicker Than Water, Bright Orange, Carotene Kick, Bloody Orange, Creamy Crunch, Black Mud (Tomatoes, Beets, Kale, and Lime) and more. What I love about my juices are the pretty colors! I often serve them in a wine or champagne glass and feel better jusit looking at the juice!
