Hi, I have just posted in the radiation thread, but thought maybe someone in this thread might know about lymphangiomas.  I have about 10 lumps under my arm and told it is caused by the lymphedema and radiation.  Have had about 4 bouts of cellulitis since is appeared.  Now told I may need surgery.

Can anyone advise me about this condition?

thank Ched

    Hi, Ched,

Bummer! I think you're the first person ever to bring this up on this board, so I hope if someone with personal experience is lurking out there she'll speak up and share her experience.Smile

Good news is, lymphangiomas are benign. Still, nobody needs this! Besides surgery there are two other options to consider: laser and sclerotherapy, either of which would be less invasive. You might want to get a couple of opinions to put your mind at ease going forward. Bad news is, with surgery they do often recur, and as you're undoubtely aware, repeated surgeries are a real bear with lymphedema.

More information at LymphedemaPeople.com, and thanks to Pat O'Connor there for talking this over with me, as I haven't encountered it myself.

Please do stay in touch, and tell us how we can help.
    Gentle hugs,
    Binney

Hi Binney, thanks for your response and going to the trouble to find out about my issues.  Much appreciated.  All this never ends does it, well at least for me anyway.  Just seems to be one thing after another over the last 5 years.

    Ched xx
