Very painful sex and just have no interest ( at all)

I am a six year survivor ( dx at 40)and finished my 5 years of tamoxifen and started arimidex last year. I had a total hysterectomy about 5 years ago. Sex has been very painful for the last 6 months or so. I do use a compounded estrogen cream and that helps slightly. The problem is I just have no interest in sex at all. My husband has been very supportive until just recently. I don't blame him at all, I know it's my fault I just don't know what to do about it. We have tried different things but it all boils down to my lack of interest. My marriage is suffering because of this and it causes a lot of stress for me. Feeling so sad:(

It is a side effect of arimidex. I am just getting ready to start myself, and none too happy about it, as my man and i normally enjoy a very pleasing sex life, even after 15 years, altho this whole bc thing has completely thrown us off track. He is not pleased with my weight gain, and i am not pleased with my limitatations from extreme lymphedema. Does'nt this all suck? How long have you been on arimidex?

Thanks for the replies. I have been on arimidex for about 8 or 9 months. My husband and I

got married really young and although I have always had a problem with lack of desire this is extreme for me. I also have weight gain that I believe is caused by the arimidex but I am trying so hard to lose the weight. He is patient with me and knows the weight gain is only temporary but the sex drive problem is really affecting our relationship.
