How do you feel about it - did you see a fitter?

Your sleeve should not have any bubbles (wrinkles) in it. Please email these pics to your fitter if this is a custom sleeve. You need a re-fit. Your sleeve should lay flat so that it encases your whole arm. The bubble may be where your fluid may want to pool. You should have no muffin top either at the Axilla, Not sure if you do or don't, just mentioning it.

My custom sleeve would slip down at the elbow after about 1 hour wearing. I would get the material wrinkles also. The sleeve went back. contact your fitter ASAP for a return. I haven't found a decent fitter yet, but I found off shelfs that work!

otherwise I think you have a lovely arm :)

Don't give up, you will find something that works. We are here to help you.

Yes this is a custom sleeve. This was a remake because the first one had an internal silicone band (making it shorter) and an obilique cut which had the silicone band on the top of the arm but not the in the axilla area. That sleeve was too tight and too short. My clothes kept puling in further down. We did a remake (remeasured as well) to this sleeve shown. I asked for the additional length (one centimeter) because we were not sure about where the band would be place (sewn in the top or attached to the top). When the sleeve came in my fitter did say she thought it was too long. But since it felt better (thent he previous one) she agreed to let me wear and wash it and then call her back after five days to let her know that how it was fitting. I called her today and she was more then happy to have me return it to her so we can get it resized. I am going to call her back again tomorrow to see if we can't remeasure again since the sleeve is going back. I did print the pictures so my fitter will have those to send back with the sleeve as well.

I am going to start a new thread to see if others will post pictures on how their sleeves fit too. I have been wearing sleeves for almost 9 years now and I have never had this much problem getting them to fit. This is a new fitter and she seems to be good, although does like to try to sell other items, but I am not buying - lol.

Regarding clothing: Polar fleece material is famous for making your sleeve fall down so watch out for that and some of my long sleeved tees are bad also.

It would be best if you could get your old fitter back because you had good success with her. It is good though that the new fitter is accommodating you. Still.....what a hassle.

There is a thread called, All things gloves and sleeves, this would be great if you could post pics there.

Hugz4u, the original (but not old fitter) no longer fits sleeves. She sold her business to the fitter before my current fitter and they made a mess out of my sleeves. Had to remake three night sleeves that stretched over 10 months and then told me they could no longer help me. They were not really trained for arm sleeves but compression stockings. Even Solaris was not happy with the sleeves. I did post pictues on All things gloves and sleeves as well as statred a new thread asking others post pictures too.

Jennifer, this fit of your sleeve is incorrect and should be returned.  I would suggest you do not wear it!  Someone posted pics of properly and poorly fitted sleeves, I'm trying to find the thread.

Is that an elvarex sleeve - I never could get mine to fit correctly - hated it.  it always fell during the day, my Juzo stays where I put it, and love that!  Also, maybe let us know where you live and someone might be able to recommend a fitter in your area.  I totally agree with hugz, I would also worry that the top would cause more swelling!

Jennifer - are you near Montgomery County?  There's a fitter who goes to Shady Grove in Gaithersburg and to Holy Cross in Silver Spring named Jennifer to fit patients and she's fabulous.  You don't have to be treated there to meet with her.  PM me if you're interested and I'll send you contact info.

Jennifer, medi mondi is class 2, and I personally don't like the fabric--I wear class 1, but I've felt a sample.

The medi USA head--Michael Cannon-- is very responsive, and he'd be horrified to see a sleeve fit like this.

I just really think this sleeve will do more harm than good.  Can't take picture of mine and get it up here well, but my fits snuggly from bottom to top, at both ends there is no muffin top  effect, it doesn't slid down or bunch up anywhere.

Kira, This sleeve was sort of a trial and error. Both the fitter and I made a mistake in the length. My last sleeve was too short and too tight so we had it remade and my fitter was not sure how the band would be (sew into the top and be part of the sleeve or onto and be in addition to the sleeve because we were chaging from an oblique fit to a standard fit). Turns out it was sewn onto so that silicone band plus the one centimeter addition resulted in the sleeve being too big and bunching. The sleeve seems almost perfect below the elbow where 80% of my swelling is. See I can't be a simple measurement and can't wear my sleeve all the way to axilla because of a some what thicker axilla area (well compared to most) due to my first attempt at reconstruction being not so good and my lat muscle and scaring still in that region. Good news is I had the reconstruction undone and redone, this time DIEP. It's much better but like I said the lat muscle and the additional scar tissue is still in the general region so a sleeve needs to be a happy medium, not too low but not all the way up to the axilla region. My (new) fitter is very receptive into making things right and I have faith as I have learned that my fitter has other (happy) patients on the MB. I love the learning and looking out for one another on this MB.

A lymphedema therapist can measure and get it right the first time.

Sigh...not all LE therapists measure for garments.  Mine does not, and she sent me to a local DME for fitting.  They got it wrong, which I did not realize until I went to another DME in another state, which specializes in LE garments.  I'm in OTS sleeves, and I was wearing a medium when, according to the specialist DME, I should be in a small. The fit of the larger sleeve looked ok, but now that I'm in a smaller one, I can certainly tell that the compression is greater and more even than with the bigger one.  My therapist thought the bigger one fit just fine, judging by the looks. But it took a good fitter to figure out the best size.  This is all completely frustrating.

My LE does not measure for garments either, they do not get involved with DME's, they send you else where.  She does NOT recommend our local fitter (I went to him for something else and I can totally understand why).  My therapist is great at judging the fittings and actually has been certified to fit several brands of garments, but because of where she works is not allowed to do so, I'm just glad she knows what she's looking for.  I good fitter is worth their weight in gold, I think!  I've considered getting certified because everyone from around this area has to travel a minimum of 100 miles round trip for any type of fitter, but just haven't been able to get going - somewhere along the line my get up and go, got up and went.  Surprised  At least I'm getting my MLD, Lebed opening & walking done most days  now, and my new compression sleeves should be here tomorrow !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Linda, becoming a fitter for your area would be simply wonderful!Cool Boy, would you ever understand how to really help people! I sure do "get it" about the disappearing motivation, but hope you'll keep thinking in that direction and be ready to move forward if the "get up and go" makes an appearance. YES!

    Hugs,
    Binney

Thinks Binney, I'm still turning it over - my daughters are interested in helping with it too.
