    Debbie,

Your idea with the lei sounds lovely.... That stupid autocorrect tends to be more of a pain than it's worth but sometimes those (mis)corrections are pretty funny! As for the $10 Bloody Mary... money well spent! That is my AM drink of choice when we are on vacation... Hope you and Chuck are having a great time! PS.... I sent off a PM to the mods to see if the formatting strangeness can be corrected....

    Lacey,

Hopefully it continues..lol! Guess I found out how regimented I've become because, while I kept trying to talk myself into the position that it wasn't bothering me because, after all I could figure it all out, even though the formatting was wrong and the avatars weren't matching... Truth is it was driving me CRAZY.....lol!

    Laurie,

This reminds me of a post many moons ago on this thread where those who were willing to 'fess up to 're-arranging' our family's placement of dishes in the dishwasher did so.... Lol...

I swear, there isn't alot that gets to me but, I guess I do have my little quirks...lol

Seaside- I am laughing, I remember that and I think of it every time I rearrange the dishwasher.  When DH and I went away last weekend I spent over an hour putting things in their right place (including the dishwasher) when I got home.  I have come to kind of accept the fact that I am a bit OCD when it comes to my home.  I wish I wasn't- but it BUGS me beyond belief!!!!

I must have missed the dishwasher re-arranging post - I totally do it!  DH has a creative approach to loading it - me, not so much, lol!

Oh Laurie... I sooo know what you are talking about.... DH was off of work for the week between Christmas and New Years (which was wonderful) BUT between him putting dishes where he thought they should go and having Christmas Dinner here with my in-laws and kids helping with the dishes, I think I have just now this week finally sorted everything back out into where I can find what I need where it's 'supposed' to be....lol

For those wondering what the heck we're talking about re the dishwasher... the conversation took place waaaaaay back on page 134.... Too funny!

The only thing that I'm really OCD about is the kitchen cleanliness. The rest of the house can be "the dogs and cat do a pretty good job keeping it clean." But the kitchen *MUST* be clean.

I could go on for days about spell check and auto-correct mishaps.  I've seen some pretty funny things.....

60 degrees in upstate New York???!???.  That sounds like what it usually is here.  This week is going to be cold for this area...below freezing every night and low 40F degree   high temperatures.  I can see the warm stuff on the Hawaiian beaches.... :-)

The kibbeh, again, was wonderful.  I'm too lazy right now to go get the paper with the recipe on it...but i will.   There are a couple of things I may change the next time around; like not using the food processor on the onions.  I was in a huge hurry this afternoon so I "mushed" the onions in the food processor.  It tasted OK, but the texture didn't seem right.

Yes, DH and I load the dishwasher very differently.  He will nest the bowls, etc.  Drives me nuts!  LOL

My DH doesn't even try to arrange stuff in the dishwasher. He just puts stuff anywhere because he knows I'm going to rearrange it. I did suggest to him that he could learn the correct placement but so far he had been unreceptive to the suggestion.

Tonight is eleven bean soup (don't know what happened to the other 4 beans lol) in the crockpot. I'm going to be at my dad's all day unpacking boxes in his new apartment and with this wicked cold, I won't have the will or the energy to do much else.

Don't even get me started on if DH empties the dishwasher and where stuff ends up!

auntie - I think 11 beans is still pretty ambitious!

During chemo I regularly looked at www.damnyouautocorrect.com for a laugh - inappropriate, but hilarious!

I have no idea why my usually compulsive DH is unable to remember where anything other than the dinner plates and glasses live in the cabinets.

I have made peace with this by asking him to just leave the confusing items on the counter and I will put them where I know they belong, so I don't have to go on a search later. He is great at clean up, so I can't complain too much. We do have different approaches to DW loading, which is more of an issue now that I am at home more..... It seems that there should be a research brain study done on this (with follow up remedies!), since it is certainly equally as interesting as some of the studies that we hear about in the news! ;)

lacey - the stuff my DH puts in weird places is not the confusing stuff!  It is the everyday stuff - sometimes even if I have two of something he puts one of them someplace weird - I just laugh!  Mine is so good at clean up he threw away our taxes before I sent them in!  We were living overseas (1984-ish) and you can imagine what I had to go through to get another copy of our W-2s!

I am with you Lacey!  I will say DH knows where it all goes but still puts tall glasses where the short ones go and vice versa when loading the washer.  Kind of like on the very rare occasions when he trys to help with folding laundry.  He doesn't read sizes or seems to remember which kid wheres what shirt and he puts "whatever" into "who evers" dresser and I have to go hunt and peck it out or our 5 year old will come down wearing pants that look like carpis ;)

I am going back and forth on what I will make for dinner- I was planning on fried chicken- feeling lazy and considering patty melts... the next hour will determine whether I catch a second wind or not.

Still no appetite here, so we have been shopping the freezer. Lunch was cheese raviolis. He had some of the roasted tomato sauce while I had butter with oregano and hot peppers. Dinner will be a very spicy short rib chili I made in October served over oven polenta. [Don't have to stir!] Green stuff is the trouble right now. I am down to a wilting head of cabbage and one head of broccoli. I haven't been to the market since December 23rd. Husband has made a few forays out of desperation. When we ran out of eggs, he declared a state of emergency.

My 02143 HATES the way I do the dishwasher. So, I don't do dishes as a regular thing. Nor do I empty. He does a great job except for the plastic leftover containers. Of course, he could put those away, but they are left in my workspace so I am the one who does it. Really tedious to sort, etc, so don't blame him at all.

It's Meatloaf Monday at our house.  Trying to make it a little healthier with Italian Turkey Sausage (spicey), 90% lean ground beef, and throwing a little 80% to give it some flavor.  Making mashed potatoes and roasted asparagus.

laurie - I was mighty pissed!  We had to file an extension (by mail of course, the internet did not exist) and then re-invent the wheel on all the rest of the paperwork, by mail.  Now he wonders why he is accused every time something goes missing!  His interpretation of clutter is today's mail on the counter!

belinda - we are having meatloaf too but ours will not be healthy!  It is a ground beef, pork and veal mixture that has bacon slices over it.  It is topped with a mixture of chili sauce, brown sugar and dry mustard in the last 15 minutes of baking.  It is my DH's favorite, hands down.  I am making it for him and I will be eating something decidedly less caloric!  DH is a lean and fit military guy with a very low cholesterol level so it is ok for him.  Today is my oldest child's 25th birthday and I need to be here for another 25 years, so no meatloaf for me because I am not lean, not fit, not military and I don't have low cholesterol, lol!

I saw that apple posted on this topic so I thought I would let you all know that she passed away on Sat Jan 12.  I do not know any details.  She had posted on the Brain Mets Sisters back in Dec that she was not doing well.

I've been gone all day and I'm sure DH has emptied the dishwasher SIGH! Who knows where I'll find the measuring cups, it's kind of like an Easter egg hunt.

Thanks Debbie, it's probably at that stage where it's going to get worse before it gets better.

debbi, Well, that is my zip code. When I arrived here in 2005, I was not planning to hang around for very long. I didn't use ANY of my cuter and more informative screen names. I thought being anonymous wouldn't matter! Everywhere else, violin appears in my screen name. Oh well. Sadly, I will be a member of this site until I can't post anymore, and I am wishing that I had been more creative.  :-)
