I was just diagnosed with IDC on 1/3. I had an MRI a few days later that showed two new areas of concern, an area in my left breast, and my right lymph nodes. I went for the biopsies on Thursday. they could not find the spot with the ultrasound on my left breast so i have to go back for an MRI guided biopsy this week. They did the biopsy on the lymph node and I got the call Friday afternoon that there is cancer in my lymph node. Also the radiologist believes the tumor in my right breast is about 7 cm instead of the original 4.2 I was told. Of course my surgeon was out of town for the weekend, so I have gone the weekend in shock and having no idea what happens now. I guess I am looking for anyone with similar pathology that can help me. my pathology is stacking up to be really down right discouraging. My cancer is ER-/PR-.

    Dear Nellie

My diagnosis was not the same as yours, and the true facts of your case will only be known later once everything has been analyzed by pathologists. Every person's diagnosis is different with this illness. At the moment you feel as if you've been hit by a freight train. It is very scary and overwhelming to hear something like this, but as soon as the drs have assessed everything, and there is a definite treatment plan, you will feel more in control. This beginning stage is the worst part of the ordeal because of all the uncertainty. Worry won't change the outcome, but it does sap your energy and joy, so try to steer away from those dark thoughts. There are such good treatments available for bc today. This is such a nasty disease, and it won't be easy, but it does pass eventually. Once you are out on the other side like me, you will get your equlibrium back, and life will be good again. Best wishes to you!
