Let's Make Ann's Day!
I first met Ann Silberman when we dxed on the same day over 3 years ago. You may know her as the writer of the funny and always honest blog - Breast Cancer? But Doctor I Hate Pink. She has Stage IV cancer and will find out the results of her latest pet scan today. She is trying to remain optimistic, but she is feeling weaker. I want her day to have something positive in it, no matter what the scan results say.
I'm asking you to vote for her in the health blog contest. If she wins, she'll receive $1,000 which she hopes to use for her brilliant son's future education.
All you need is a facebook account to enter, and your vote will still count, even if you don't "share" it on your FB page. The contest runs through Feb 15th, so if you're feeling especially motivated you can vote everyday. I really would like to see an huge outpouring of support for her today. Thank you.

Done! Right now, Ann is in 1st place by about 200 votes.
I checked out her blog. It looks great!
-
...this has been posted on several forums....
-
I will vote, I just wish it was more than $1,000!
-
Yes, I posted on several different threads. On Stage III where I "live", on Stage IV where Ann last posted and one other. Learning your Pet scans results is always stressful, and especially so for Stage IV women like Ann. I was hoping to give her a boost by seeing her numbers rise significantly today in this contest. Thanks to everyone who voted.
Update: Ann had progression on her scans.
-
clariceak: this is such a nice gesture!
I'm going to vote right now.
-
Clariceak, thanks for updating us on Ann's scans. I'm so sorry she had progression.
-
Done, and I am also sorry about the progression and wish it were more than $1000
-
That's awful about the progression.
-
Bump, back in the lead, keep voting!
-
I love Ann's blog and vote everyday.
-
She is rapidly losing her lead and would really appreciate your vote. Thanks.
-
Just voted again. Thanks for the nudge Clarice!
-
I voted again today. I want Ann to win.
-
Hi, I also love Ann's Blog. I voted for Ann. SharonMH
-
I have been voting regularly. She deserves the win. The blog is brilliant and honest. Her video is inspiring too. Praying for her PET scan results to be good too.
-
Unfortunately, her latest Pet scan was not good. Her physical symptoms were worsening, so Ann expected progression. She's on a new chemo and I'm hoping that works. I have a feeling she will do well with TDM1 when that is approved. I know she is tired of asking people to vote for her, but every vote helps. I think it would mean much more to her than $1,000 prize if she wins.

I just voted, and Ann is in the lead by 120 votes. Keep voting!

Anne I am voting, and passing on to the Mothers Grace 2000 followers as well.

Wow, Ann, your entry is brilliant and inspiring! I've never seen a more articulate writing on what it means to live with cancer, and the courage and strength it takes. You've got my vote as often as I can give it!

Still voting daily! She is leading by 110 votes as of a few minutes ago. Go ANN!

I would love to vote, but if I sign in with Twitter, it wants access to my account, including posting tweets on my account.
-
I login with Facebook. Sometimes I allow it to be posted on my wall, sometimes not but it seems to work in both cases.
-
It would not let me vote unless I allowed access. Anyway, I will try again. COuld have been a glitch.
-
Momine, I vote using Twitter and it does post a tweet for you. You can immediately go on Twitter after voting and delete the tweet.
-
Thanks Mamabee, it sounded far more intrusive than that.
-
I voted...Hope she wins!!! Anything for a sister...
