Since I've embarked on an anti inflammatory diet and vitamin regimen, my body looks totally different. The scale has not changed much but people think I have lost 10 or more pounds. It's a good thing.

I need to chime into this one.  I heard that BC causes weight gain and I thought I had a handle on this.

My Onc indicated I need Folate Acid, Vit D and B Complex.  I added Cat's Claw for Artheritis and Condrointin Glucosomine because Arther and Bert(istis) decided to visit my groin and right hip area. Cat's Claw worked the first day, no need for pain killers.  Thanks Dr. Oz!!

I'm also take 1 HBP pill a day.  No more headaches, I drink 1 cup coffee at work only. I do drink either fat free or 1% Organic Milk with cereal and trying out "So Delicious" Coconut Milk.  Chicken or shell fish only, no red meats and allergic to "fin" fish.  They stopped selling Kale at Costco's ...I LOVE Kale.

Raw salads, black beans, olives, blackberry juice, Oranges...I induldge lightly in dark chocolate and love my popper popcorn popped w/olive oil at night.  . I'm in a hiking group and we journey 3miles on fairly moderate terrain. I'm really focusing on losing this extra added weight.

Journey-You go girl. Glad to hear that you are thriving and being so proactive!

Our diets sound similar. I try to limit my chicken and seafood to no more than once per week. I have also started juicing. And will definitely have to try that Cat's Claw.

Still no significant weight loss but people do say I look thinner up top. ;-). Of course I do!

I am following the Lorraine Day method. Have any of you tried it?

    Hello!

It appears none of the other women are on her often. I saw it and thought I would join in.

I don't know anything about the diets they are talking about but I'm sure it on the web. I haven't tried any new diet because I know I can't stick to limitations long term. Plus no one can guarantee they work in preventing BC.

I use to walk 4 miles in a out 50 minutes 5-6 days a week before my surgery. I haven't been able to start again because I'm still healing plus my back hurts when I try to. I joined weight watchers again since I lost over 30 pounds before diagnosis. It's easy to follow and I can eat anything. I have lost 10 pounds in 6 weeks.

I take calcium, vit D and fish oil plus biotin.

My New Years resolution was to go back to my life and live as I did before BC. There is nothing that guarantees BC won't reoccur no matter what changes we make. Of course eating healthy and losing weight is always good for mind and body. I just hate reading articles that say life style changes help reduce the risk as if I caused this to happen to me. There are many skinny healthy weight vegaterians who have BC and people with horrible diets that don't. Removing or cutting out certain vitamins or minerals can cause problems too.

I guess my point is change in life style is always a good thing when over weight or lots of drinking to help the body be healthier but not the reason we have or had BC. It is a risk factor for many illnesses no matter what age you are.

I drink wine about 3 times a week, gave up vodka. I eat whole grain cereal with 1% milk about 3 days a week, whole wheat bread, lots of fruit and vegetables. I cut fried foods from my diet about 15 years ago. I'm as close to being my pre BC self as I can be and very happy😊

Oh one more thing not to wear a wig except when I go out on a date. I would usually wear a hat when going to the store, appt or visiting friends no more. I just wet my hair and put a little styling gel. I have about half a inch on sides and peach fuzz in the middle. People just look but not stare 😊
