State short term disability

MY mother diagnosis with breast cancer stage IIIB. Her SSD (SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY ) did not approved. Since , she don't have enough quarter of work. Also immigraion issue .

Is there any state short term disability ? Where I can apply for her and she can get assistance .

I am not looking for social security disability I am looking for state short term disability.

    In my state, short term disability is paid for by your employer.  That's where you get the forms - from the HR department at her job.  If I had to guess, it would be the same nationally, but I am not 100% sure.  I know we filled out forms for several employees over the years.  It has to do with payments for a non-job related illness or injury causing you to be unable to work at your current job for a short time.

    Did you speak with your local county social services department about welfare?  From your posts, it doesn't sound like your mom was working prior to diagnosis.

    It would help if you say which state. Each is different. Other than that look to the states social services department if your mothers employer did not provide such a benefit.

    I am going to contect with state social service.
