Picked up my pathology report at the hospital this morning. "Negative for malignancy". Called surgeon's office to clarify other terms on report, and was told it is all benign findings. Thanking God and doing a happy dance. I follow up in February with BS, but I'm not going to let that make me crazy. Until then, I am going to just breathe. :) Thank you, ladies. I wish you all peace, comfort, and rest. And big but gentle hugs to you all!

Doggylady....yahoo for you!  Celebrate with...whatever makes you feel better! B9 is such a good word to hear.  Yeah, those reports can just plain freak me out as I can not understand them half the time.

Yay doggylady!!! So glad you came in to let us know.  Always good to hear. It helps others facing testing to understand that so many biopsies are negative for cancer.

Oh this thread makes me feel better hope i'm as lucky as you doggylady. my cyst was thick and bloody too, cytology was find but said a little chunky they wanted a biopsy if the cyst was still there but they are unsure if it is, i can't feel it and i have many other cysts. Therefore i go back in 6 weeks, sooner if it refills. Wish they had been able to do the biopsy and find the cyst as now i'm worried. The cyst looked simple on ultrasound. they think the blood was caused from a previous aspiration but they want to be sure. Guess it's good they can't see anything but still worrying.  Good to see thick dark fluid isn't alway bad news though.

Thanks everyone! Sorry it's been a while since I checked in here. Been a crazy few months. Whole family has been sick off and on.

Fenella, have you gone back for your follow up yet?

I just picked up my report today from my 6-month follow up mammo and ultrasound (which I wasn't told until 2 weeks ago that I was recommended to have). The large cyst has refilled about 1/3 of what it was (in 4 months since aspiration), and looks complex again on US, with "unclear fluid level". There is also a smaller cyst right by it (which wasn't noted on previous) with definite septation. My BIRADS score last fall was 2 - benign. This time it is 3 - probably benign. Same radiologist. I will go back to BS on April 8, and we will see what he wants to do this time. I was recommended for diagnostic mammo/ultrasound follow up in 6 months again, so at least I know it this time. Deep breaths for now, and trying to ignore the "here we go again" feeling and not to borrow trouble. I'll know what the surgeon thinks soon enough. For now, it is spring and that will be enough.
