I am now officially a member of the 3+ years club- I had my 3rd cancerversary yesterday! I'm doing incredibly well and apart from creaky bones from the Femara I am well and truly back to my old self.

    Hi All,

I am not sure if I post my question at the correct thread.  But I am really thinking too much on did I make a RISK choice...

I am also a ER+ & HER2+  1/3 nodes was positive and remaining nodes was not removed... Why? because upon my operation 3 nodes was remove for check if is positive and result was NOT.  But after my operation and receive my Report 3 weeks later my surgery doctor told me they found 1 node was positive after they do a details lab check.  And asking if I want to remove all the remaining nodes inside my left arm with a 50/50 remaining if remove may or may not have any positive nodes after lab check.   But the chemo treatment still have to carry on with or without remove remaining nodes.

And since if chemo treatment to carry out it will kill all cancer cells plus also all good cells it may have a chance to kill also the cancer cells at the nodes (If there is...) So I take a Risk to not remove remaining nodes and pray hard the chemo treatment will KILL any if in the remaining nodes!

I am not sure is there any other ladies out there which did not remove remaining nodes?

I was diagnosed in 2005 had chemo, mastectomy, radiation and one year of Herceptin.  Recurrance in lymph node in pectoral muscle in Feb. 2010 again chemo and rads once more, started Herceptin then and am still on it every three weeks.  Have had one more recurrance in another lymph node in Dec. 2011 once again chemo.  So even though it has been rough with the repeated chemo's I believe many of owe alot to Herceptin and I will be continuing on it as long as my heart can handle it.  As well I am ER+ and HER2+ with 6 positive nodes at diagnoses.  Keep smiling.

    Betsy

Three years out at the end of the month.  I thank God everyday as so far it appears I am NED.  :D  Although I am still dealing with a lot of heavy fatigue, I am so thankful to be able to respond to this post!

    Hi,

Three years ago yesterday I have had surgery and at 11/13/09 I was given the pathological report. Now I’m very glad to pass all check-ups, my MO said” You don't have cancer any more” .After 22 very troublesome months of Femara, my SE's are truly minor on Aromasin for the last 10 months. Even now I’m browsing BCO posts every day.

    Take care and best wishes!

    Usha

Well I was node negative but had such a big tumor that I was a stage IIB. Basically 1 node away from being a IIIA. Even my BS thought I would have micromets. That's why he took 10 nodes without doing a SNB.

2 years 2 months NED and counting.

Two years this past September NED.  I've been on Anastrazole for a year and 2 months as well with very little SEs at this time, although I am having eye problems but if that's all I'm more than happy to accept that.  I feel like my old self now and can't wait to report at 3 years.

Fitz be sure to get that eye thing checked out by an ophthalmologist. I know Doxie was having some serious rare eye issue with Anastrozole

Thanks, Lago.  I am under the care of an opthamologist and was told cataracts have significantly grown in the past year.  I had dry eyes before but never anything like this so now I'm on an expensive drug, Restasis, plus other directions for treating my eyes throughout the day.  We won't know if the Restasis helps for 4 to 6 months.  Here's hoping it does.

Chemo dried my eyes out too. I have to use artificial tears every so often. Never had the problem before. I hate taxotere.

    Hi,

This coming January it'll be 8 years since my surgery. I had chemo and herceptin for a year. (Dx at stage IIIA) So far I have been well and feel extremely grateful. To all of you ladies currently under treatment: smile a lot, rest well, be kind to yourself, but always fight like hell!

    Hugs,

    Est

Three years ago today, life changed as I knew it. Don't have to describe what that was like to any of you. I remember when I first saw this thread and hoping that I would be around to be part of this group. Well, here I am! :)

I don't post all that often anymore, but I do drop by frequently. Thanks to all you amazing ladies for the wealth of information and support. What a gift you have been!

    Thanks Tons!

    Verene
