Help- I need an attorney who understands
I have aggressive cancer. I have already been through 15 months of chemo-- 2 months of radiation, 7 surgeries. I rented my home because I couldn't pay for it or take care of it. The people who rented, lied and seriously damaged the home. They moved in a boyfriend that has several felony convictions-- and are fighting eviction. Because I have a land lord policy (Farmers insurance-- they are awful) they got a money hungry attorney to represent them and sue me!!!!! I gave them furniture, flowers, baby clothes, toys, birthday cakes, easter presents, lent them a camera, vaccuum, 2 tvs.... and a ton more. I bent over backwards to make things good for them. When all the damage was discovered and I started their eviction, they find a attorney who is suing me to pay their expenses!!! Everyone thinks I am a unstable bitch becvause I cry and try to get people to understand. No one cares!!! I am dying and they see $$$ -- It is Chrismas Eve and I just want to kill myself and not let these people do it to me. Who has to deal with this. If anyone knows a attorney in Nevada who understands how hard life is with this-- how bad and expensive already and who will fight and not just look for money (I will pay but there is no huge settlement) please please help. I just want to give up and not because of cancer -- because of this. I cry all day every day. I cna't get in the house- I can't rent it-- I can't fix it and Farmers insruance claims adjusters are all on vacation for 2 weeks. I can't get help. I am too tired and sick to fight. I just want to die and get away.

Sorry you are dealing with this situation. Have you started the eviction process? Why are they suing you? If they are still there you probably should not get in the house until they are evicted.
Please make an appointment with a real estate lawyer and get some guidance.
I have been a landlord for many years and I have had may share of crazy tenants, luckily they are the exception. It all can be very stressful but you really need to take care of yourself first. There are other forums where you can connect with other landlords. I will PM you a link.
Hugs!!

Oh honey....they are leeches and sensed your soft spot and went for blood. They are pushing you around....Sue you for WHAT??? An attorney looooves those kinds of people because they're paid by the hour - win or lose. Grab hold of your cahones and get that estate attorney. BAM!!! Seriously, its terrible that those people exist but worse if you let them win....

Why are they suing you? What are the claiming - and BTW, having a LL policy is a good thing - they have to provide a lawyer to defend you - it's in your insurance contract. So, hang in there, and screen your calls for 2 weeks until you can speak with your assigned claim representative. They'll figure it out, it's their job...
While you're cooling your heels waiting for the claims rep, contact your local bar association, and find out who the most experienced landlord/tenant attorneys in your area are, and then go hire yourself the best one you can find...and then let them handle everything to do with the eviction for you - that'll definitely be money well spent. Don't confuse real estate with landlord/tenant, either - there's a difference...
It sounds like you did the right things so far, let people handle all the minute details for you, and not stress yourself out so much.
