Of course! That is so wonderful of you. Who would have thought Keflex? Weird
stuff huh? Great to meet you and the group. I appreciate the ride and talk and
of course the prayers are so welcome. Youre a great person can tell right away (that
feeling we get of positive).
-
Fun time at Ernie's! You are all so wonderful!

Wonderful times shared with those who understand and relate! Thank you all, I look forward to more gatherings in the future.

CookieMonster, SheChirple, BCOCT, Juli50 and Pessa, great to meet and connect with you guys last night! DM13, great to see you again! Let me know your exchange date, I'll add you to the TE Trouble surgery list. Hope everyone got home safely in the rain.
BCOCT: Will be thinking of you tomorrow as you begin chemo, let us know how it goes!
-
Had a great time too! Can't wait to see you all again
BCOCT - hope everything goes smoothly
-
DM13: I had already added you to the surgery list... DUH. Tamoxifen Brain strikes again!
-
Hi all, I am so sad I missed the night at Ernies and would love to join on the next get together. Sounds like you all had a great night.
Rennasus-I have been to your sight and LOVE what you have given to all of us. What a wonderful gift that you have putting it down in words that we all understand. Thank you for sharing, you have helped so many myself included by blogging your journey.
Hope you all have a great week. -
Good (early) morning. Night at Ernie's reminds me of Weekend at Bernie's.
I, too, wish I would have gone but I've been feeling kind of meh since having fills on Friday + drainage is up to 60 ml per day since fills.
I definitely want to try to make it next time.
We have an Ernie's kind of close to us (we're in the Montrose/La Canada area - there's an Ernie's on Colorado). I'm wondering if they're owned by the same people.
Was the food good? I know the fellowship
sounds like it was wonderful.
-
Ren - well... I wasn't going to say anything! Lol... Speaking of Tamoxifen Brain, can I just say that I am so glad I am not alone? I love that CookieMonster's Doc had her go off for two weeks, just to see... when I asked my doc about it, he clearly said memory issues are not a side effect of the Tamoxifen, which made me feel crazy!
LeeA - I've been to Ernies Jr in your area, it's much lighter and brighter than Ernies. Don't really know if the food is the same.
Anyway, would love another get together after the holidays

Hello All
I have been on these boards for about 10 months. Made it through surgery and chemo with help of all the knowledgeable people on here. But as I'm sure some of you know relationships change during treatment. I didn't have any close friends I lived close too before all of this happened. I would like to know if anybody would like to start a group offline for get togethers? Online is helpful but sometimes human contact is better. It can be just a way to get out of the house and have some fun. We all need a break sometimes
I tried to start a group closer to me but not many takers. Was told to try this group. I'm about an hour from LA but travel there often to visit friends and family. I know I just missed a get together but hope to make the next one.

Michelle - I'm always up for a group or get together. Let me know the next time you're in LA!
-
I would love to join on the next LA get together, count me in.
-
Michelle: I'm not too far from you, in Moreno Valley. I joined this group for a gathering in LA and was so worth the drive. I loved finding people in real life.
One of the ladies lives closer to us, in Rancho Cucamonga, and suggested a get together at Victoria Gardens. What do you think? After the New Year.
-
Let's plan something for sometime in January. Who's up for it?
-
Judy - I would love to get together, does anybody have any suggestions where?
Until then Happy Holidays and New Year to All. -
I'm in.
-
Me, too.
-
I might be.
I'm starting chemo in early January so there's that but at some point I would really like to meet up with the Los Angeles group. It sounds like the last meeting was a great success!
-
Maybe
-
Anybody interested in a possible hike or walk on Saturday or Sunday somewhere in LA the end of January?
-
Marcie47, that sounds like fun. I'm starting chemo in January so I'm not sure how I'll be feeling but I love to go on hikes. Have you ever done the Eaton Canyon hike back to the waterfall?
-
Hi LeeA,
It has been a while since I have done that one, it is fabulous, but might be a little rough for anyone with fatigue, I am post and ready for a good hike however thought maybe Griffith park might offer different levels for anyone in the middle of their treatment that may need to just walk. I am open for all, love the outdoors and would like to stay outside and play!! -
I've never hiked in Griffith Park - although we don't live all that far from there.
-
Hi LeeA,
There is all kinds of levels there....the Hollywood sign (although hard for anyone with fatigue). The observatory, the LA zoo (nice walking path from the zoo to pony rides or travel town).
There is also Franklin canyon a little more west.
Would love to hear other suggestions or if there is somewhere else we can plan a get together. -
Hello!
Yes I would love together with you guys. I'm off work until June so lots of free time on my hands. Anytime after the new year will work for me.
Looking forward to meeting having a few laughs and making new friends
Michelle -
I'm all for get togethers. But...I'm not big on group walks. 1-3 people are enough for me.
I'll keep watching.
Oh, and I started a thread for Inland Empire ladies, just in case.
-
No worries in regards to walk/hike, is there a place we can plan to meet for lunch/dinner like Ernies or other suggestions?
-
I am up for anything... I am having my exchange/hernia surgery on Jan 30th. so would be best to get together before then.
-
I'm up for a dinner as we did previously.
