Possible Liver Mets

Options

I had a liver ultrasound that came back abnormal.  The report says "regions of abnormal echotexture in right & left lobes w/increased echogenicity mixed w/regions of low echogenicity.  Infiltrative process cannot be excluded."  So I went for a MRI last night and now have to wait until after Xmas for results.  Of course I've googled all these words from the report and the low echogen. means possible malignancy.  I am just on the edge wating for that phone call.  I had a pretty good year and now all of this crap pops up.  I just can't believe it.  OK, I do feel a bit better now after venting all of this.  I'm just so nervous about that phone call.

Oh goodness!   I am sorry about having to wait!  I know how scary it is to have a scan and wait for the results.   I have no idea what those words mean, but it sounds like you read that it says " possible malignancy" .  I would hold to that- possibly can also mean not likely -  there are lots of things that could be possible malignancy that never turn out to be.

What prompted your ultrasound?  I know from a previous thread of mine, you had elevated liver exzymes I believe from methotrexate - .  Perhaps those old causes are rearing their heads again?

Hang in there.  Thinking of you..

The liver enzymes went back to normal and then 8 wks. later the ast & alt tripled.  The alp was OK.  I have been off of the methotrexate since Sept. so the dr. says that shouldn't be a factor anymore.  Oh well, I will find out Wed.  Thanks

    Hi Somerset

I will be thinking of you over the next few days. What a rough time for you. Gee I wish these medicos could speed up their communications, the waiting is torture for us.

I hope you can put all this to the side long enough to enjoy the holidays, there is still possibly nothing there to worry about, and if there is, it can wait until you have enjoyed your Christmas fully.

    Best wishes

    Angela
