I am so happy to hear that the Neulasta is all sorted out for you, Benny (and I'm not blushing, that's another hot flash ;). I was very happy to be there and I'm expecting this time to be much better for you. Use the Claritin with the Neulasta, it can't hurt and it very well may help. What Benny didn't post was that she bought me a lovely 'chemo cap' which I am wearing as I type, it has cats and teapots on it and the colors are perfect. Thank you, Benny :)

Edi - very happy to hear that you continue to feel well

Traii - sorry to hear about the peeling feet, glad you aren't feeling the pain that you had last time though, hope the tiredness passes soon

Dakota - there with you tomorrow for the final AC

Everyone - you are all wonderful sisters

    Take care

Benny good to hear things went well and Websister sounds like a gem, you are so lucky to have her in Calgary. I hope things work out with the AC. I had fatigue from about day 5 to 9, and some indigestion around week 2.

I hope everyone has a great week!

    Hi Everyone,

Looks like everyone is doing well!  I am still reeling from all the new information and changes trying to do research but so many different opinions. I really like my Oncologist so I don't think I need a second opinion.  I went from Triple Negative with dose dense treatments of A/C then Taxotere to, not really considered TN because I do have some hormone recepts not a lot but enough to make a difference in treatment, which is only 4 cycles of T/C.  I have gone over my pathology report with a fine tooth comb, I just want to make sure I get enough to knock any stray cells out.

I have to go to a Chemo class next Weds, my Oncologist has it in his office,  I feel like I know most of it from all of you.

    Love to you all,

    Carla

For whatvit is worth you might get lucky. I only had Neulasta never had Neupogen and took it the day after around 4 pm with a pain pill prescribed and I never had pain. I know people who had pain with Neupogen. Fingers and toes crossed this round goes better!!!

carlads good to hear from you. Happy that you like your oncologist...makes things easier. Just jot down as many questions as you have for your chemo class, thats where you'll get lots of knowledge too but yes you are right, there is nothing like hearing it from everyone on these boards that KNOW what side effects are about. Yes we all have different SEs but what the nurses have on paper, we have it happening in different ways .!

So have they given you a start date yet ?

Websister, how cute, cats and teapots on your head.....Benny will be blushing now :)

Bearcub, hope you are doing well along with Edi (no SE's mummy!!) Dakota, how you going??

Bevlee, are you out there in hot hot Perth?? where are you? how are you feeling ?

Good morning, Warrior sister team! So far so good with me at this point. I have no nausea at all, just a little tired. I do have this weird swelling at the back of my knees and my legs feel puffy and swollen (?) and my affected breast is red and inflamed, but onc saw it day before yesterday and said no worries. Seeing as he's an oncologist and I'm a social worker, his opinion trumps mine Laughing

Luvmygoats, Nellie is so sweet. I'm sorry she's gone but happy to know she had a wonderful life with you. Many animals are not so lucky. One of the reasons why I board Diamond where I do is because the owner has a heart of gold and I know he loves his animals. He's rescued numerous fuzzy ones from uncertain fates. Just last year he took in a llama (Louie), two sheep (Dodge [he's a ram, Dodge ram, get it?], his DW Eunice [Ewe nice, get it?] Nancy, Stella and two sheep Bandit and Biscuit. This is in addition to the 32 horses he oversees. Numerous folks have abandoned their horses there and he keeps them rather than dispose of them, which he is legally entitled to do if people don't pay their board. Anyway, how did I get on this topic? Oh yeah, I believe there's a special place in heaven for people who are kind to animals.

Dakota, congrats on the half way mark! It seems like it went really fast, no? Hope you're doing okay today (hugs)

Edi, there is no way on this planet I could ever give myself a needle. God help me if I develop diabetes cuz I'd be whooped! I have a friend who is an RN and she's going to come over tonight and give me the shot. I'm thrilled to hear you had no pain with it!

Carla, good to hear from you. I know it's hard sometimes to pop in and provide updates but we all worry about each other and wonder when we don't hear from each other. I don't always post but do read every day. Depends on what's going on in my life and my energy level.

Lesleyanne, I had significant pain with the Neupogen. It was like nothing I'd ever felt before. Intense spasms in my shoulder blades, spine, and hips. Lasted for about 3 hours I think then subsided. I had three shots in the hospital. The first one felt nothing, the second and third were intense. The third one required codeine to manage pain. And that was just the Neupogen, so that's why I'm worried about the Neulasta. The oncologist said he's never seen anyone with such a sensitive system as mine. It's made this cancer/chemo journey pretty tough for me.

Bevlee, I'm trying really really hard to drum up sympathy for you with that heat, but it's not coming haha! I'm sitting here wearing big fluffy slippers, a heavy terrycloth housecoat and flannel jammies, and freezing my *** off! The sky is grey and it's cold outside. Wanna trade??

Okay, better head off to the hospital to pick up that Neulasta shot before my energy gets worse. I just want to go back to bed but have a few things to do first. I am tired and weak, must admit.

Benny - You sound so great this morning. So you're a social worker, I'm an RN but gently retired (get it, not yet retirement age).  LOVED my SWs in my hospice job. They were awesome.

Read that Neulasta is subcutaneous (SQ in med. terms) - that means shallow injection. The injection itself should not be that painful and probably would be much like insulin injection. Website says 27 gauge needle prefilled that's really small. Hoping SE from it are better than Neupogen were for you.

I love my goats. Was out this morning warming water for them and it was only in the lower 30s. They are just for fun certainly not for making a profit. All I do is spend money on them. I have 17 I think (I try not to count too closely) but do have couple that need to move on. I may try milking one in the spring. She has a great udder but a crappy personality, not a people goat and she was born here. Lots of goats come from big herds where they get little people interaction but not here.

    Love and lotsa (((HUGS)))

Traii, is it December 21 over there yet? I'm just wondering if you're okay. Was the Mayan calendar right? Is it the end of the world yet? ;-) I'm wondering if I should set my alarm. I have a few things to do before the world ends.

Luvmygoats, the RNs and the SW at my little hospital have such a strong kinship. I used to always joke that the RNs were so good they were almost like SWs! LOL SWs and RNs are a good combo, I think. Are goats like horses? I'm guessing so, each with their own personality and quirks.

It's the evening of day 2 and my legs feel a bit better but my stomach is a bit crampy. I'm mildly fatigued but I did quite a bit today too so can't complain. Last time I plummeted on day 3 so I am wary of what tomorrow brings. I'm a bit worried about Websister as I've sent her an email (3 times) and it's bounced back. Either her email is full or she's blocked me! Wink

Okay, off to fold laundry ~sigh~ Should a warrior have to fold her own laundry? Seems wrong to me.

Websister, I got your email but of course it bounced back when I replied. I have now sent 5 messages, all bounced back. This is what it says:

The following message to <(removed)> was undeliverable.
    The reason for the problem:

I removed your email address, as you can see. Not sure what the problem is? Will try again tomorrow morning. Did mom make it to the rehab place you were hoping for?

Hi Sisters, Had a lazy day, had shower, painted my face ( it needs it ) put on nice sweater dress with cosy tights ( fluffy lining yay ) bit of jewelry and sat down to await the big boom.

Got to 11.11 am and not even a puff !! Wish these morons who fortell all this would just do one !! i.e. chuck themselves off a mountain or something lol.Now will have to do the shopping I put off just in case ha ha.

Seriously sisters haven't we got enough on our plates without doom and gloom ? It seems there were little kids crying in the school playgrounds thinking they would never see their Mummy's and Daddy's again, sometimes TV radio and the internet can do more harm than good.

Anyway some silly bxxxxxs are still waiting for alien space ships to come and rescue them ! GET A LIFE. Rant over :-))

Then I climbed into loft and found some extra xmas decs and the Nativity Set, so baby cheeses will soon be set in place by smallest GD. Best time of the year.

Benny, Hope you are still SE free.Cramps could be constipation as Dakota says, I eat an orange or tangerine every night and that cured it. Pain WAS really nasty.

Traii,Have you finished all shopping ? Hope your poor hands improve soon. bet DS is besides himself with excitment.

Websister, lovely news about your Mum, she will be mobile again before you know it.

Dakota, Glad you ok, you are right about little ones making the most of them before they stop believing in Santa. Got Santa suit out of loft for DH, he moans like hell but loves to see their little faces when he stomps in with their presents.

Bevlee, have things improved re your disasters ? Hope SE's minimal.

Carla, bearcub, Lesley, Joanne, luvmygoats ( Hugs to you all )

Must go and rummage in the freezer, DH will need feeding soon, he has been driving mad shoppers around all day and isn't a happy bunny.

Oh dear, who would tell kids that the world is going to end?? Oh my what a bunch of no-minds! I am sorry I brought it up but my comments were meant tongue-in-cheek as I think the whole thing is hilarious! LOL It's been nothing but entertainment for me. Poor kids tho'.

Day 3 started out okay, a bit nauseous but manageable. I can feel the intestines starting to burn tho' and I hate that. I know what's coming: burning gut, inflamed lungs, no windpower. My RN friend is coming today at 1300 hours to give me the shot. Got codeine here in preparation. I noticed the onc ordered 4 refills on the Neulasta. Do we get it after the Taxotere too? I wonder if he's extending my A/C to 4 more sessions in light of the fact he reduced me from FEC to A/C? Got a call from the radiation department today as they've already scheduled me for radiation. Things are ticking along.

Edi, you sound lovely in your sweater dress and tights. I'm a boring dresser, jeans every day unless I'm forced into something else! Love my Wrangler Q-baby Tuff Buck jeans and a simple T-shirt. So why do I have so much laundry?? I don't know.

Okay, back to stripping the sheets off the bed for more laundry :/

Benny, The end of the world was funny as you said, I found it so.they  My ED said her friends eight year old was sobbing all night no matter what her Mum said. Thank goodness it is all over until the next one lol.

Hope nausea has faded some, good luck with Neu shot, sure it will be painfree.

I always wear sweaters and slacks but my youngest discovered these thick fleece lined tights, OMG what comfort and tuck into my boots without trailing in the wet. I look a bugger in jeans have lots of pairs from the daughters wish I looked good in them.

Hope things improve tomorrow. Have you seen plush toy, or is it too cold to go out ? Still expecting to see Noah walking about collecting animals here. Suppose better than thick snow as England grinds to a halt when that happens.

Bed stripping tomorrow here, my least favourite job :-(.

Luvmygoats, yes, you are so right! I just had the Neulasta shot and my mind is in anticipation of what's to follow. I read the insert on the drug box and it said spleen rupture, respiratory distress, etc are rare side effects. Well, as soon as I read that, guess who felt pain in her left upper abdomen and shortness of breath?? It's amazing what the mind can do and so it makes sense to put it to good use, not bad. Now if I could just master that skill I'd be homefree!

Edi, it's freezing here today. It's -18 C with a windchill of -29 in the city here. Of course out on the farm it's usually 5 degrees colder still because there's no windbreak. I'm glad my horse has a shelter, even tho' she's not using it today. She's tougher than me. I like the idea of thick fleece-lined tights. I could put them on under my jeans on cold days. That would be a step up in the fashion for me. I will search for them.

The bed stripping is moving really slowly. I've stripped, now I've got the clean mattress pad on and I have chosen which duvet I want to use. But now I think it's time for some sweet tea so bed will have to wait. I might have a bite to eat too.... maybe some baby cheeses!!! Laughing

Benny, you sound wonderful, really happy and positive in a few days you will be nice and normal when all the chemicals washed out. Sweet tea and cheeses, love it lol. I am drinking sooo much and sure it is why I feel so good. Only problem is needing the loo every few hours through the night. Try and stay in a sleep walking type of mode .so don't wake up too much.

Temperature where you are sounds like a nightmare ! Those tights are from a shop called Primark here, not sure if they have branches where you are ? Diamond could do with some four legged ones brrr.

Eyes closing even though it is two hours before my normal bedtime. Electric blanket on fluffy pj's at the ready think I will go and hibernate for a while.

Catch you all in the morning. Night night.

    Happy Birthday, Dakota!

Edi - loved the 'baby cheeses' :)

Traii - hope all is well with you today

Benny - re: Neulaasta x 4, I started my prescription just after chemo 3, prescription had 3 refills - seems standard for here and yes, I had Neulasta with Taxotere but he may plan on AC for you, all can drop the white blood cell count. I read the insert also, good to keep the mind occupied by other things.

I went to our work Christmas celebration today. It started at work at 0900, we went to a restaurant for lunch about 1100 and ended with 'secret Santa' gifts. Very nice but I am definitely tired this afternoon. Half to get in gear as I am having a Christmas brunch here tomorrow morning.

    Take care everyone
