Returning to work...limitations

I'm returning to work after 11 months.

I still suffer what I consider extreme fatigue.  My white blood cell count is very low.   I still have some "flank" pain.   I have some problems with lymphdema.

My PCP doc is clueless about any & everything (thinks antidepressants heal everything)

BUT it is her I have to have sign off on work release.

I'm thinking: no lifting,  take periodic breaks, restrict exposure to infectious disease/allergens and keep all followup related medical visits.

Does this sound reasonable?

Any suggestions on what restrictions/limitations/accomdations I should request to "ease" back into work after so long when I'm still not even 100%?

Thanks!

Hi apelila, saw this and the title made me look in.  I am returning to work on january 7 2013.   I was diagnosed Jan 12, 2012 so almost a year - pretty much like you.   My organisation and doctors will work together on any limitations and I will be looking at a graduated return to the work for the first month or so.  then it is reassessed and if all OK I'll go back full time, if not the doc and org. will look at this again.

Does your organisation have anything like this?

I finished my rads on November 14 and am still able to sleep 10 hours a night, easily out of breath and fatigued.

Hang in there - we can do this.

As if fighting breast cancer wasn't enough, I'm now fighting for a healthy workplace.  How can someone bully a cancer survivor!  Unbelievable, but it's true! Stress is the last thing that I need.

Please help pass this the Healthy Workplace bill in Maryland: www.change.org/petitions/maryl...

Hopeful: can I sign, even though I am from Canada?   I think we ALL deserve a healthy bully free workplace.
